(S14) PT 3 - Expansion
Complete the weekly Point Task to earn 3 TPE! All written responses must be at least 200 words. All graphic responses must show at least some effort. Do not claim this TPE until it has been graded and posted to the S14 claim thread.
This task is due next Sunday, April 14, at 11:59 EST. Have fun and get writing!
Written Option: Expansion is coming! But we don’t know where to yet. You get to Create a franchise in a city of your choosing. Describe this new team. Come up with a mascot, color scheme, or maybe name the stadium. Tell why you chose this town. Have fun with it.

Graphic Option: Pretty simple, design a logo for this new franchise. Don’t just copy a logo from another random team, it needs to show some editing skill.
Reminder, Graphic Options are unable to be submitted for GFX grades. It is either one or the other.

The people of North Dakota have waited for far too long and they are deserving of being given their own football team. Other less deserving cities have been given teams and the people of Bismarck have been left in the cold, but no more! Now is the time for the people of Bismarck to rise and cheer for their own team.
I would like to introduce you to the
[span style=\\'color:red\\']BISMARCK SUPERNOVA[/span]
The Supernova will be playing in the newly built 'Cosmos Stadium', which will seat all 50 citizians of North Dakota.
The home jerseys will be a nice mixture of supernova colours like purple, some green a little blue some red, it`ll look dope dont worry about it.
The away jersey will be a nice bland black. A gentle reminder to the infinitely spanding universe we live in.
A third jersey will be announced at a later date.
The mascot will be a giant star, which at certain points during the season will explode as to simulate a supernova. *Regular mascot try outs will be held to keep a healthy number of mascots around
I chose the city of Bismarck as my expansion city, because of the beauty of the city and the surrounding area. The trees, the beautiful plains. Little rivers and ofcourse because of the huge relevance of space and bismarck. See bismarck is a city on planet earth an where is earth located? You guessed it, in the milky way and where is the milky way located? Exactly within the universe and what happens in the universe? You guessed it again, supernovas. It's the perfect marketing and branding.

“Today is great day for Washington Sports fans, The gridiron returns!!” The fans cheer. “I present to you, THE WASHINGTON ADMIRALS!!!” A capital building shows with with a blue “W” and an red “A” “we will play here at Audi field until our new stadium is built..” We will use three different uniforms, a red home jersey, a black road jersey, and a white alternative jersey! Oh! It’s just our mascot, Admiral Washington, Which is our first President, modernized! Our stadium is nothing more than Audi Field! A lovely 40,000 seat venue! At least we beat the XFL here!
The reason we chose this city is due to it being the lovely capital of the United States!!

For the NSFL's expansion, I propose that the next city to claim a team should be Des Moines, Iowa. Currently, there are teams on the coasts - West, East, and South. There's a team in Canada. The DSFL even has a team in Mexico for Christ's sake! But where are the teams in the heartland of America? Why is the Midwest so neglected for a team? An expansion team right in the middle of the country would allow accessibility for countless football-starved fans. Iowa is the perfect place for this. Why? There's nothing else to do! College teams get the attention of all Iowans, and a professional team would attract the most reliable fans in North America.
As for team branding: I present to you the Des Moines Detasselers! For those of you city folk, detassling is taking the tops (tassels) off of corn, just like this team will be taking the top off the opposing defenses! The color scheme would be green & gold, representing the corn's stalk and grain colors, with the added bonus of being the same as John Deere's color scheme. All of the greens in each league are dull and boring, spruce it up a bit with a vibrant green primary color. The logo would be a mean looking farmer in a straw hat biting the top of an ear of corn. They would play in John Deere Stadium, nicknamed "The Cornfield." Have you ever seen one of the greatest sports movies of all time, which is set in Iowa, "Field of Dreams"? If you build it, they will come, and they will be coming to Iowa yet again in S16 of the NSFL.

The fact that there isn't an NYC tri-state area team in the NSFL is an absolute abonomination - the most populous area in the United States doesn't have a team but little ol' Yellowknife does? Therefore for the new expansion, I would propose a team known as the Garden State Bolts. Named after the great advancements in electricity made by Thomas Edison and others in Menlo Park, NJ, this team would not only cater to the NYC market but also serve as part of the fledgling rivalry between NYC and the Philadelphia area, and even serve as a nearby rival to the Baltimore Hawks.
For team branding, the Bolts will take the colors of New Jersey - buff and Jersey blue, as seen in our terrible state flag which so badly needs a redesign. Does this conflict with both the Liberty and Hawks? Sure, but that's besides the point for now, we're just having fun here
The mascot of the Bolts will be the state bird of New Jersey, the goldfinch. Its bright yellow feathers will correspond well to the electric nature of the team, and makes more sense than banana hawk in terms of its color. The team will play home games in the growing city of Edison, NJ, a thriving hub of innovation and immigration, all while only being a short train ride from the city.Ultimately, the NYC area needs a team, and a New Jersey team will fulfill that need while also giving the league access to the biggest market in the country.

THE NEW YORK NOTORIOUS[/div]
It's time that the NSFL came to the largest city in the United States. The New York Notorious (NYN) bring with them the attitude that makes the Big Apple unique. The name is a nod to one of NYC's most famous sons, the rapper Notorious B.I.G. By honoring Biggie, the team aims to rise to the top of the league, in the same way he rose to the top of the charts, with the same confidence and swagger that he embodied. The team's color scheme will be consist of three colors. The primary color will be black, the secondary color will be gold, and the accent color will be silver. The team will play in the soon-to-be-built Empire Stadium, named for the team's home in the Empire State. Finally, the mascot for the team will be "Big Poppa," a representation of both the massive hip-hop subculture in the city, and the heads of the various mob families that exist in the city. Essentially, the team hopes to bring a "bad boy" vibe to the NSFL, and to become the clear-cut villains of the league.
For too long, New York City has been deprived of the excitement and thrills of the NSFL. Now, by establishing a franchise in one of the most populated cities in the world, football fans will get to experience the thrills of the game. Players for the Notorious will become household names, and will be adored by millions of people. The New York Notorious are the first step toward a bright and prosperous future for the fans, the players, and the league itself.
