*NSFL Veteran Horne Finally Gets a Ring - iseedoug - 06-16-2019

This past Friday, 8-year NSFL veteran Ben Horne finally won the Ultimus, on top of a statistically career-high season with 96 tackles, 12 sacks, and 15 pass deflections. Horne was not only great in the regular season, but in the playoffs, raking up 3 sacks, an interception, and a blocked punt. This success comes after spending the first 6 years of his career moving around on the San Jose Sabercats defense, playing both LB and DE spots throughout his time. During that 6-year stint the team had many ups and downs, including switches in the front office and the QB.

When asked about his recent success on the Hawks, Horne said: “I thrive in this defensive scheme and Icy Douglas plays me at my best position. I also think the way Epictitus and Icy built this defense is a huge advantage to me. Our secondary is insanely good in coverage, which gives me that extra second to hit the QB. And playing next to and learning from a legend like Austin Roenick (@Leafer) has been great.”

Horne enters his 9th season in S16, and hopes to continue his up-swing in performance, despite the expected regression from age. Sometimes players fall off a cliff, other times they age like a fine wine.
