For those of you that do not follow Lightsout Lewis on Twitter, there has been some construction going on as of late and it is time explain myself. Sometimes when you join an awesome organization like the Chicago Butchers, an organization that is undergoing massive changes in an effort to become Ultimus champions, things have to happen. Given our offseason moves and acquisitions in the draft it is my thought that for the team to be at peak performance the people on this team have to be team players, and that requires things to change for some of us. Being that I was the first Butcher ever selected, I take pride in being a leader for this organization and I feel that leading by example is the best thing I can do for my teammates and for the city of Chicago.
Therefore, it is with incredible excitement that I announce I will be making the switch from linebacker to the safety position moving forward. Given the depth that we now have at the linebacker position, we feel like my services can be more helpful at the safety position! With this change, there are a few other things changing as well...For starters, I will be wearing the number 32 moving forward. I will also be cutting a few pounds in an effort to increase my speed, but lucky for me it will only be about 10 lbs total. The excitement and stress of this offseason and also given me an awesomely bearded face that you will be seeing moving forward.
To all of my former linebacker brethren, I will always remember the battles that we had in our attempts to out do one another and I will also always be a linebacker at heart! Each and every one of you made me a better player and a better teammate because of the competitiveness that you all inspired inside of me, so for that thank you. To all of my new opponents and colleagues at the safety position, this is a friendly warning to each of you: "I am coming for your awards, your records, and most importantly your trophies!"
