*My 10k article of spite - ScorpXCracker - 07-03-2019

I decided to write this long media piece purely out of spite. I was told by my peers that I would not write a ten thousand word media piece, and here I am, proving them wrong, for no other reason, other than spite. So, there is no way in the world that I could write ten thousand words on one topic, so I will be writing about many topics that I feel properly need words written about them. I’m about ramble on for the majority of this. Of course, no one will actually read this entire thing in full, because who would want to waste their valuable time reading some huge article? Well, without further ado, here are my thoughts on things:

Writer notes: I just finished this right now, and I really ramble on about things that no one really cares about, and stuff that has already been talked about. And this was done over the course of a month, so I may have talked about things twice or things that are not relevant anymore. Also, I talked a lot about draft related things, and this is only posted 4 hours after 2x draft media, so please show me leniency on this. @124715 I did, and you said that I wouldnt

My first impressions on this league back in March were really good. I thought the idea was incredibly gripping, and I was immediately taken by it. The community was great on the first day, and I just loved how active and welcoming the discord was.
It took me quite a long time to create my player, Dorfus Jimbo. This website was really confusing and daunting to figure out when I first started, but through the help of the discord, I eventually powered through it, and made my pride and joy, Dorfus Jimbo.

I was really excited when I made Dorfus Jimbo. I had heard that there were no running backs made in the draft class before the season 15 draft class, so that is why I decided to make Dorfus a running back. I was also told that speed is the best stat to have for a running back, so I choose for Dorfus to be a speed back to get that sweet 100 speed in the future. When making Dorfus I made the mistake of upgrading stats that were not speed. I still regret that to this day. I have not made the same mistake yet, and since the creation of Dorfus, no training points have been spent on any attribute other than speed, which I am now sitting at a cool 95 speed.

The other running backs in the class seemed to be great in my class and pretty equal, but one seemed to be the leading candidate for top running back. This prospect was Kermit Stronglegs. Kermit, who is now inactive(for the most part), from what I was seeing and what he was telling me, was the #1 running back in the entire draft class. I ended up befriending Kermit, and we shared our thoughts on the draft and other things going around. Kermit told me that he was getting a lot of attention from General Managers and was pretty much confirmed to be going to the Portland Pythons. Kermit ended up going inactive, and never really did anything in the DSFL. Now that I am reading back on this paragraph I have no idea why I decided to include this in here. but am keeping it because I need words. TEn thousand is a lot of words.
The draft class that Dorfus Jimbo was going into, the season fifteen draft class, was huge, and since it was so huge HO decided to expand the DSFL into two more teams, the Norfolk Seawolves, and the Palm Beach Solar Bears. Of course, these teams needed General Managers for them, which HO picked Slm and PDX to be the GMs of these teams. But then these General Managers needed Co-GMs, which they then proceeded to start to look for. They both put up posts looking for Co-GMs.In Slm’s post he said he was looking for someone new to give the job to. I was interested in this, but I did not end up applying for it at first, as I thought who would actually give the Co GM job to someone who had only been in the league for a couple days, and who has no idea on half the stuff I was doing. I saw Slm in the discord actually say that he wanted someone from the Season fifteen draft class to make the Co-GM. This inspired me to apply for the job. I gave an interview to Slm, and I got the job for Co General Manager for the expansion team, the Norfolk Seawolves. I was really excited when I got the job, as I knew eventually I would want to try my hand out as a GM, but I did not think I would actually get a GM job in my first season in the NSFL.

As I said earlier, and as everyone already knows, but I just need more words so I can prove Numbers wrong, the draft class I was in was huge. There were over one hundred prospects in it. This was awesome for the league, but was really hard to scout for. Me and Slm started making a big board with all of the prospects in the upcoming DSFL draft on them, we would then jot down everything meaningful they have done to improve their player. This was monotonous at first, but eventually I got hooked. It was a lot of fun just going through everyone. It took a while, but eventually we got all 100 and something down.

The DSFL draft ended up taking a really long time. I guess that would be expected with so many prospects in the draft in which we were drafting for. The draft was done in discord and the Gms would just post their pick then tag the next team.

We killed the draft, which was really important since we wouldn’t have any send downs from last year, like the rest of teams would, except the Palm Beach Solar Bears, because they were the other expansion team. It was really important to have a good draft, because who we drafted would be our only players. With our first overall pick, we drafted Allen Josh, who I believe had the most TPE at the time of the draft. Allen Josh ended up going IA not too later, but I do not consider him to be a whiff on our part. We got two good season out of Allen Josh, and maybe more. If he did not go IA, we would definitely have lost after his first year in the DSFL.

Alright, so that is the preseason of my first season in the National Simulation Football League. Writing ten thousand words is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I still have to do it out of spite of Numbers and Dermot. So, since I am desperate for more words and things to write about, I might as well write about why I am writing this ridiculously wrong article. Well, for starters I am broke at the time that I am writing this. I had my weekly training for one million dollars denied last week. Of course, Dermot, saw this when he was in the transactions thread doing Dermot things in there. He, of course, saw the opportunity to make fun of me in there, and took a screenshot of me being denied my training points, and he posted it to the rookie discord. Obviously, the fine people in there mocked me for being broke. I said that I was just going to write a 10k word article and not be broke anymore. This was obviousl;y hyperbole, but they did not see it as that. Numbers then said that I would not write ten thousand words. Of course, I had to uphold our rivalry and write this huge article of ten thousand words. The amount of money I will be getting is also a n important bonus, I need to get that equipment and stuff.

And now, I am just shoving this part into the article so that I can cash into the double cash media so that I can really get some cash and be set for a season or two on money so I do not have to lose out on some sweet five tpe like I did this season. So now, it is time to talk about the draft so that this entire article is worth a lot more than it should actually be. So, my prediction for the first overall pick is probably Dermot. It is a horrible mistake to take him with the first overall pick in this upcoming draft, but I know that it will probably happen. I made the same mistake in the DSFL draft last year. I took Dermot with the third overall pick, and it was such a huge mistake. Mark my words, if I did not make that mistake, Norfolk makes the playoffs last year in the DSFL, so I blame Dermot. Dermot has been a max earner, and is very active. This would be a great pick, but Dermot sucks.
After Dermot, I believe that Laslo Forty-Two will be going with the second overall pick. The Butchers have the first and second overall pick, so these two players will be both going to the same team.
Laslo has great TPE and is very active on the site and the NSFL discord. The Chicago Butchers are an expansion team, which means that they are pretty short on most positions. This means that they will be likely looking at trying to get the best player available right now. I believe that Dermot and Forty Two absolutely are the best plays available in this upcoming draft. Now, I personally believe that Dermot will be the first overall pick, just because of his former players history, and how some would say that Dermot Lavelle Sr is an all time great cornerback. Obviously, this is blasphemy and Dermot Lavelle Sr is an all time bum. To be honest, Dermot Lavelle Jr should not be drafted. Although, I am one hundred percent right, as I am about everything, I know that this will not happen. Dermot will be drafted, and it will be very sad, and wrong. Whichever team makes the grave mistake of picking Dermot will have their team set back by a couple years. I can only hope that the team that picks Dermot Lavelle Jr is the Philadelphia Liberty. A team that has both Numbers and Dermot on the same team together might just be the worst team ever put together in the entirety of NSFL history. You know what? I change the previous statement that I just stated earlier in this paragraph. I welcome this. I welcome the Philadelphia Liberty to draft Dermot and make the worst team of all team. I would love to make fun of them for it. Do it, BWIII, you will not.
The nest rookie going into the season 16 draft that I will be talking about is Wolfie McDummy. So, Wolfie McDummy is a General Manager, which means that he will automatically taken in the second round of this upcoming draft. I think it would be a pretty safe bet to say that Wolfie McDummy would be a first round pick in the draft. Wolfie McDummy is ran by the user Infinite, who is a General Manager of the Colorado Yeti. Infinite is a dedicated member of the NSFL web site, so I think drafting him would be a pretty safe bet. I do not see him just running off into the sunset, never to be seen again. That is a big problem with drafting, any person that you draft could just log off one day, never to be seen again. That is why I think drafting these established players is by far the best bet. They have shown that they are here to stay, while obviously none of these new people coming into the league have not shown that they are here to stay in the league.
That is another topic that I am going to talk about just so that I can fill up more words so I can fulfill my ten thousand quota. In the season 15 DSFL draft it seemed like more news guys were being drafted into the higher rounds in that draft. It seems like you would definitely want to take the established people first. You get your guaranteed TPE gains, you would be guaranteed a good player that would play for you and your team. While if you draft a new create, they could just walk away and you get yourself a nice 60 tpe player on your team. Actually, now that I think about it I think it is probably so that you can try and get more than one season of the player that you drafted. Obviously, if you draft a big name player, they will obviously be called up after one season playing for the team that drafted them. It’s like why I do not consider picking Allen Josh with the first overall pick in the season fifteen DSFL draft a missed pick on our part. Obviously, it is a shame that Allen Josh went inactive, but if he kept up his TPE gains he would have easily been called up after his first season. He was at one hundred and fifty TPE before the first season started. He was by far the most max of the max earners. The maxest of all the max earners. Hell, I even remember for some reason that someone started spreading the rumor that Allen Josh would be called up mid-season, even though he was not even drafted yet. But besides that, we got a good two season out of Allen Josh, where we definitely would have gotten only one. Also, I know I have spelled definitely wrong every time in this article, but this is a ten thousand word article, screw you, I am allowed to have typos. I saw this as if somebody is actually going to read this. MAybe some poor media grader will get roped into this. Haha, that must suck. Now that is a good segway into the next topic that I am making up as I go. Because how am I supposed to be able to write ten thousand words in one article? By making everything up!
So, my next topic is going to be about league jobs. ANd I just have to say I really respect anyone who has them. This entire league is super impressive. Everything is ran by people. People taking the time out of their day to do super mundane tasks, just for the simple thing of having a league be run, for other people. Oh, also it is because of the need for money. Fake money, not real money. Hell, I would easily grab a league to nab myself some real money. And, I guess this article right here is just so I can get myself some of that fake money. Also, Jesus christ, ten thousand words is so mahy words. And now, to tie this paragraph into the draft so I Can get that sweet, sweet double draft media, let us talk about being a GM, who drafts. So, I kind of have to relate this to the topic at hand, which is league jobs and money. So, I did not become a GM for the money. It helps, and is a nice touch, but I would easily do this General Manager just for being a General Manager. I like being a General Manager a lot more than actually being a player. Drafting is just a lot of fun, and an all around great experience to have. Boom, talked about the draft, bam give me the two times money, you poor media grader that I am forcing to read this . Anyways, drafting is fun. You get to DM all of the prospects and get some nice answers from them. Talking to your war room and trying to decide who to pick is just a great experience to have. I remember when doing the Season Fifteen Draft was incredible. It was a lot of work to do, but I overall did enjoy it. Doing the draft itself took such a long time. Some teams took a long time to do their picks .
And now, it is time for me to talk to a garbage part of this entire league, the sim we use. We use Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 16. Jesus christ, this sim is one of the worst sims I have ever seen. It just does not make sense how it can get everything wrong. I think the biggest problem I have with the sim is penalties. Penalties seems to be the sims best weapon of choice to screw over people. It seems like if the sim wants you to lose, you will be barraged with penalties. I will never forget, two seasons ago in the DSFL playoffs, VS the Portland Pythons. We had a good lead on them, and then the sim came for us. The game got a lot closer than we would have liked, and we had the ball. This is really when we got screwed. We kicked a couple of punts on the opponent's side of the 50, and way close to field goal range. Like who just decided to punt right there, super frustrating. The game ended up getting tied, and we had the ball. We then got a couple of good of good plays, and what do you know they all got called back. We ended up losing that game, which was heartbreaking for all of us in the Norfolk Seawolves locker room. We were the underdogs in that game, but it still really stung to lose our first playoff game.
Anyways, jesus christ I have gotten off topic. I believe I was talking about the drafty and Wolfie McDummy. Now, obviously I know that he will be going in the second round, but I believe that if he was not a GM he would easily be one of the top picks in this draft. Of course, that brings us back to my previous point, as to which if he was not a GM his rep would not be as high, so maybe he would not be a top pick. I am kind of going in circles in here, so I am just going to blame numbers for this paragraph going off the rails. Screw of numbers.
Another thing that bothers me is that we are doing 8 teams in the playoffs this year. Now that is just dumb. The regular season just seems completely useless now. You just have to breathe and you are in the playoffs and can just count on some sim luck to win you an ultimus. I mean I guess that home field advantage will be something for you to fight for the entire regular season. But is fighting over who gets to host a play off game really what you want the regular to be? I mean home field is super crucial in the garbage sim that for some reason this league uses. Because for some reason if the game that is being played is not at your teams place, then the sim will screw you in every way possible. If you breathe on a player, it is a flag, and the sim gets to own your soul and your first born child. It is kind of ridiculous. Like you know that there is hardly any chance of your team winning the game.
And now it is time for my thoughts on the expansion. Now, I think that it is a huge mistake. And not just because it makes us go to 4 teams in the playoffs, which us a big mistake because of the problems that I outlined in the former paragraphs of this absurdly long article that no one is going to actually read. Everyone making the playoffs is a big problem, but I think that a big problem is how empty the teams will be in a couple seasons. More and more people from the season fifteen people will be going inactive, which is kind of depressing to think about, that just anyone you could just drop out and never be seen of again, and now this sentence structure is really weird because I originally did one of those sentences where you interrupt the sentence with one comma, but then you resume the sentence with a comma, but now since I have done more commas in between the original commas, it is all out of wack so I am just going to redo it. But, since more and more season fifteen people will be going inactive, and they were the only reason that the expansion teams were put into the into the league in the first place. So eventually the expansion teams will become very dead and very bad with all of these inactive people not earning tpe. An the people that are active will just be super unhappy, because their locker room will just be empty, and they will be not be winning a lot of games. And then theses unhappy people will likely leave these expansion teams, which will make them even worse. Or, a worse case scenario, these people are unhappy and they just decide to leave the league in the whole and never be seen again.
I think there is definitely merit to making the expansion teams, although the negatives do outweigh the positives. I think the reasoning is definitely merit to the reasoning. I think one of the biggest entices to the league is the ability to be a star in the league. To be the best, because we all know that none of us are the best at football, that is why we are all pretending to be the best at football in make believe football. With all of these new people in the season 15 draft, some of the teams could start to feel crowded. You can not shine on a team if you have to share your spot with 5 different people at that same position. That is a little bit of an over exaggeration, but who cares, it is 3 in the morning and I am super tired, but I get my best work done when there is a deadline, and this deadline to get the double draft media is coming up super quickly, and I do not want this article to be worth 15 million less than it should be. So anyways, if the people are spread out across ten different teams, it seems like it would be easier for people to prosper in the league. It really is an idea that has merit, but in the end it just does not work and we should shun HO for what they did to our league.
You know, I did not really get the Head Office hate for the majority of my time in the NSFL, but then I got my first taste of the hate for the agents ruling. I still do not get what good that ruling would have done for the league. There really is not a good reason for agents to be banned from the league. And HO says that they did not ban agents, but they pretty much did . They put on such a hefty price to be an agent, then they make it two times harder to get money. And even then, why make it so much harder to be an agent in the league? They do not do any harm at all! Well, I guess they do harm to the General Managers of the NSFL because more and more people will be getting some pretty hefty contracts. But that is not a bad thing. Well, I guess it could be a bad thing because the more people that have money, the less likely those same people will be looking to write media to keep the league active, or less likely to try and get a league job to make it so that the league works at all. But that is unlikely and I am kind of reaching at straws to add words. But I mean I guess that actually has merit, but I doubt that that is why HO banned agents because I am kind of just making all of this stuff up. But I guess they eventually let slm become an agent and they lessened the rules hindering people who want to become an agent become an agent. So I guess that is good for the league. I think that having agents probably is god for the league. I do not see the entire point of having an agent in the league, but I could see how some people like it. Having a hype man in the league sounds pretty nice, but I do a pretty good job of hyping myself up all on my own. Another cool part of having an agent is getting a big contract. That Grithead or what ever his name was got an incredibly huge contract. Although, I should be good to get a contract by myself, right? Haha yes obviously I am in such a good position to demand a lot of money, I hear that backup runningbacks really break the bank in this league. This league is not ready for these five carries a game for 23 yards. Besides my sarcasm, I would like to get some big bucks. I am just not a huge fan of writing media. It just gets tedious. I mean I guess writing this ten thousand article has not been that bad. I have just been putting on some good tv shows and binging that. The problem with that is I get distracted very easily watching these shows and realize I have not written a word in 20 minutes. I think the hardest part of writing this huge article is coming up with good ideas to write about. I have not done that yet, as all of my ideas so far to write about have been utterly garbage, but on the bright side no one will read this deep into my article so no one will read all of the garbage things I am writing about, and wow I am not even half way done with this article so my ideas are just going to get worse and worse and my writing will just be getting even more rambly. Anyways, I myself do not think that having an agent is my kind of thing. I want to make my own decisions and sign with who I want to sign with, and I do not want another person there trying to make me do what they think would be best for my career, and then I inevitably either just go with what my agent thinks I should do and maybe be unhappy in that situation, or go against there judgement and make them unhappy with their situation in me. Either way, it seems like it would be a lose lose situation for the both us. And even then, I am pretty sure that in a couple seasons I will be doing something that I know for a fact my agent would disapprove of and everyone will be super surprised by. No spoilers though, but it is pretty damn big. Of course, nobody is going to actually read this, so nobody will hear that. Also, this paragraph has been huge, pretty much has taken up a full page. Oh well, no one is reading this for my beautiful word formatting. Hey, I did get a 3 on the wonderlic, so it is of no surprise to anyone that the organization of this paragraph is all out of wack. I think that it is kind of funny that like half of the running backs got a score of 3 on the wonderlic. I guess we all just left intelligence at the minimum was when creating our players. I do not think that intelligence actually matters for a running back, so I did not matter to upgrade it all. I am going to make a new paragraph to talk about attributes and such because this paragraph is getting a little out of hand with how long it is.
So I did not really think that intelligence would help me as a running back so I just left it as low as I could. I wanted to build Dorfus Jimbo as like a James White Type of a player. I also just tried to make him really well rounded out. I put a lot of points into agility, and I still regret that a lot, because I have become pretty sure that agility is a useless stat that does not actually mean anything. I have come pretty close to the conclusion that speed is the only attribute that matters. That is why for the last couple of months I have just been pounding speed as much as I can. I am at 100 speed right now, and I am pretty happy about it. Now I think I am going to just to put all of my future tpe that I earn into my endurance. I guess I was wrong earlier about speed being the only stat that matters for a running back. I have been told that endurance is really important for a running back. I think that speed is a lot more important than endurance. However, this is all pretty much from the info that I have been told by other people with past experience in the league and the sim. So all of this could just be a joke being played on me and speed is just useless. Well, I have been told that speed will make you rush better and get more yards when you rush, but endurance will let you keep up your rushing goodness as the game goes on. I guess I learned this in this past DSFL season. My speed was really high, but my endurance was pretty low. Dorfus would average an incredible yards per carry in the early parts of the game, but then later on in the game he would get tired and his yards per carry would halter a lot. It was kind of depressing watching the sim of the DSFL games with me in them and watching Dorfus average like 1 yards per carry in the second half every game.
As I said earlier, I wanted to make Dorfus just like James White. So obviously I would need to put some of the tpe that I earn into my hands. I believe when I was originally making Dorfus I did put some tpe into the hands category, but I have not touched it since I made Dorfus. I just think that getting my speed as good as possible was the most important thing that I could do for my player, especially considering my position with the hawks as the backup running back for Marquise Brown. Now that I am at one hundred speed, I will probably end up splitting the tpe I put into between endurance and hands. I do want to become a better receiving back, because I think that would make me more of an asset for teams that would want Dorfus. But then again, every point of tpe that I put into hands, would be a point of tpe that gets taken out of my endurance. If my endurance is low I could not be seen as a bell cow. I think being a bell cow could definitely improve the value for myself. Ok, I am starting to think that the higher that my tpe is, the more value I have. Do not quote me on this, as this is a pretty new theory that I am just now coming up with, it is pretty controversial and I will probably catch a lot of flack for even suggesting this. I am also pretty sure that the hawks need a receiving running back, I am not one hundred percent sure about that though, so do not quote me on that.

Update: I have 6 hours to write 5k more words, there is no way that I am going to get this done by then. Also, my back hurts, this is not healthy.
I have not talked about my draft day yet, so I will do that now and hope that counts for two times media. I had no idea at all as to what position in the draft I was going to be taken or to who would take me. I did not really care who took me,as I was not that familiar with all of teams, but I did kind of care as to what round I would be taken. I was contacted by a couple of teams, not all though. I think the GM that enticed me the most was probably SwagSloth. I really liked the situation that he described to me. I was told that I would be put into a running back by committee situation, but where I could possibly get the most amount of carries. I really liked that, as I would not have to carry the load all by myself, but I could still have a great chance to shine and show that I am actually a good running back. I think I ruined that by giving one of the worst interviews possible. I just did not know how to respond to half of the questions that were asked of me at all. Now, I just looked back at my responses, and they were not super bad, but I was certainly stressing out about them way too much.
I was reached out to by the Hawks, but it was pretty short. The thing about it that I kind of regret is that I said that I was open to position switching to the Hawks GM, nunc . At the time that the question was asked to me, I was very much open to switching positions, I had not really committed to running back that much at the time. I just kind of chose that position because some random person on the reddit recruitment post said that no one in the past draft class made a running back in the past draft class. I really did not actually have any attachment to being a running back when I first answered the question. But then over the next season, I really started to grow to love being a running back. It is just so nice to not have to worry about anything else besides how good your player is. Like for example, if you are a wide receiver, you have to worry about a whole load of other things. Well, I guess just one thing. You just have to worry about how good the quarter back is that is throwing the ball to you. Just ask Gucci or Steelsound. Gucci and Steelsound were both crazy good players and they were both wide receivers. They had a quarterback, who was not that great, and their production just completely stalled. I can say confidently that Steelsound would have won wide receiver of the year had he had a qb that was decent. And the thing is, Longshaw, the qb of the Norfolk Seawolves, was at 200 tpe, I just do not get why he was so bad, but that is besides the point. That just does not seem like the thing for me. With being a running back, it does not matter the team nor the position that you are on. If you are a good running back with decent speed, you will put up good production. Oh and also I just like scoring touchdowns and moving the ball down the field.
And so I kind of regret that I said that. That is not the right phrase, because I mean I do not regret it, because it was the truth back when the question was asked. Well now I am pretty sure that the Hawks picked me because I said that I would position switch. So I just kind of feel bad for the waste of a pick that I caused the Hawks. And so now I just kind of feel out of place there, still being a running back and all. Oh well, I should be able to help decent. I am at 100 speed, which is pretty damn good, because you know, it is as good as you can get.

Writer note: well, all of this is a writer's note, but that is neither here nor there. Numbers said that he wanted to read an “nsfl book” when I first said that I was writing this. So, numbers if you see this tell me, if not, you are a dirty liar.

Now, so as I said earlier, I had no idea what round I was going, or who would draft me. This lead to a very stressful draft day for me. So, I kind of convinced myself that I would be a first round pick. Back in the draft days, I had a pretty low tpe count. It was not that big of a difference, but it was definitely noticeable to GMs. So that obviously put me lower on GMs draft boards, because who would not want somebody higher in the TPE to be on the team that they manage. So, my problem was that I was an idiot early on in my career and I missed a lot of things that I could have done to increase the amount of TPE I had at the time.It sucked, and I still regret missing all of that stuff to this day. But, although I had missed a whole load of things, I had convinced myself that because of how active I was on the discord. I also told all of the GMs that I talked to about drafting me the situation, and they definitely all seemed to understand the situation that I was in, and I hoped they would see that I have been good on my tpe gains lately and see that I was in this for the long haul. I was also hoping that they would see that I was in the NSFL for good with how active I was. Deep down I really did know that I would definitely not be a first round pick, like there were just so many high tpe, just as active as I was in this god damn season 15 draft class that is so damn stacked beyond believe. Like, it would just so happen that the draft that I join the league in would be one biggest draft classes in league history. But that is besides the fact or point I do not really know the saying that well, who cares.
Now, I thought that second round was definitely a reasonable position to project me to be drafted in. Definitely late in the second round, but second round really was reasonable for me. When the first overall pick was announced, I was only slightly disappointed, because I really did know that there was no way in hell that I would go first overall pick. There were so many great prospects for the Outlaws to pick with their great first overall pick. (Who did end up going first? Shoot, I really can not remember who they took) Honestly, thinking back on it, there was no chance of me going in the first overall pick. This draft class is absolutely STACKED. My heart hung every time sweet would announce the picks in the second round. I would have absolutely loved to go in the second round. Then it got super stressful in the third round. I would have been devastated had I missed the third round completely and gone in the 4th. I mean I guess it does not mean that much, as obviously the draft is all screwed up because Numbers’s player went before me, which, as we all know, is complete garbage, because, as we all know, Numbers himself is garbage, and as you all have easily figured out by now, I, love, using, a, lot, of, commas, in, my, writing,
I think my biggest preferred destination for me to get drafted to in the season 15 draft would have been either one of the expansion teams. I would have loved to be picked by either, but I think if I would have had to pick one of the teams it would have been the Austin Copperheads. I think Adam seems like a cool guy who I would like to have as my GM. And I heard their other Gm talk about their plan to get free agents to come to their team. He said that their plan was to try and make their locker room as good as possible, and if they do that more and more people would want to come to their team, and thus make their team better. I think that that is a great strategy. And, I love a good locker room, so that just makes me want to go their even more. Heh, I guess that means that their plan to get more free agents is working, even on me.
To play off on the statement that I had made earlier(and it is not really playing off, it is more explaining it, so I guess that I did not really need a new paragraph for this), an expansion team was one of the things that I had wanted to go to the most. I think that the idea of going on to a brand new team, and that brand new team would obviously be horrible, as they would have no players to work with and try and win games with. I think that going on to a team like that would be a lot of fun. Now, I do not like losing, but I think that losing a lot on a team, and eventually winning with them would be a dream come true. To expand on this, it is like the opposite of what Kevin Durant did in the National Basketball Organization. He realized that he could not win with the team that he was on, so, instead of sticking with them and hoping that eventually they will get better and win a championship with them, he decided to jump ship and go to one of the greatest teams of all time, who had just broken the all time win record, and he decided to join this team. Kevin Durant then won a championship in the year after that with that all time great team. But, that championship did not feel as good as it would have if he had stayed with the Oklahoma City Thunder. If he had stayed through the hardships( and it is not even like the hardships were super hard, ships, I mean they made it to the Western Conference Finals, that is not half bad) that championship would have been one of the best things ever. If a team won the finals every year, and they never lost it, ever, winning that finals after a while would not be an impressive accomplishment. Really, what I am trying to say here, is that Kevin Durant can screw right off. But in all seriousness, staying with an expansion team my entire career in the hopes of bringing them a ultimus is absolutely something I could have seen myself doing. Just imagine just how good it would have felt to bring them an Ultimus after all of those hard seasons of losing. That certainly would have been great, and now as I am writing this I am kind of sad that it did not happen. One of the main problems that prevented me from going to an expansion team was the position of me. I play running back, as we have already establish multiple times in this article, and the GM of the Austin Copperheads is AdamS, and his player is Dick Wizadry, one of the best running backs in the league, so the two of us do not make a perfect fit. However, I did tell Adam that I would absolutely be up for a position change if he drafted me, and honestly I would still position change to be on the Austin Copperheads, jsut because of the scenario that I outlined above. However, if I had to pick between the Chicago Butchers and the Austin Copperheads based on the logo, CHicago easily has Austin beat in that since. That butchers logo is very clean. Althugh, I would have to guess that it was not actually that clean, because you know, it is a butchers axe or knife or whatever so you had to assume there was blood on it. And I am pretty sure that the logo had blood on it in the first place, so I guess you do not have to assume at all, funny how that works out.
You know, the Butchers are not that threatening of a team mascot. When I imagine the butchers I just imagine someone chopping away at meat. I mean I guess they have an axe, and that is kind of intimidating, but then again, it is not that uncommon to haev an axe, so really it is just you versus them in that matter. The blood on the logo does add to the intimidation factor, but I mean I guess that humans are not the inly animals that bleed, so you know, it could just be a deer that the blood is originated from, or humans, you never know, I will be sure to ask To if it is human blood next time we talk. Copperheads are a type of snake, so I guess that is kind of scary, but not really. I have never gotten the scared of snake. I mean, I guess some can kill you, so that defintely adds on to that. But really, they are really slow so you can just run away from them. Make no mistake, I do not want to be near a snake right now, but it is really late, so I do not want to be close to any animals right now. I would not turn down some snuggles from a dog at this time though. Dogs really are just the best.
You know, the logo for a team really does not have to be intimidating. Whoever said that they do? I mean, I guess they kind of add on to it, and they just have been scary for the history of sports, but they really do not need to. Like, is a team going to play worse than they would have if the logo was scary because all of the players were just playing scared? No, unless maybe this is the 4 year old sim league. However, I do think that a Butcher is more scary than a Copperhead. I mean, a butcher would be able to chase after me. And, I certainly am not the fastest person there is in real life, regardless of what I am in the sim. So a butcher would msot likely be able to catch me. What is a snake going to do? Can not bite me if you can not catch me. Check mate, snake people.
Writers note: if you are wondering why this article has gone down the drain in the last page or two, it is 2 in the morning and I am very tired and running out of topics. I feel so bad for this poor grader who has to grade me. You should message me after this so I can apologize to you. Also, what am I doing with my life that I would rather write 13 pages about make believe football rather then hang out with friends. Ugh.
Copperheads certainly is the cooler name however. Like good on Adam for just not being some lame name like the snakes or pythons. Ugh, Pythons is like the worst name there could be. Adam went full out and named his team the Copperheads. I did not even know what a copperhead was until then. You want to talk about great names, talk about the Yellowknife Wraiths(Wraives?). I mean wraiths is a great name all by itself, but Yellowknife is incredible. Like, that is what makes these sim leagues so special. The fact that they are not real leagues. There is no way in hell that a real owner in real life would move their new team to some randlm place in Canada. I absolutely have never heard of Yellowknife before this league. I believe that it was Bigred, the co gm of the Yellowwknife Wriaths who suggested the Yellowknife Yellow Knives. If they rebranded to that, I would do anything to go on that team, without a doubt. While we are on the topic of city names for teams, where the hell is Orange County? And why does a county have a team? Now, maybe if it was a more recognizable county, then maybe it would be reasonable, but making a team in a county is just a strange choice. I have never heard of that. Tbh all these last paragraphs of this article is probably just highlighting how little I know about things, hooray for ignorance! Anyways, I just looked up Orange County, and I am still not one hundred percent sure as to where it is, as there are a couple of different Orange Counties in America. I have narrowed it down to a place in Florida or California. California obviously seems like the easy choice here, but Orange COunty does have all of the amusement parks in them, so it is kind of a hard choice to make. I believe one of the GMs of Orange COunty is Juoso, and that sounds like Juice, and Florida is the citrus state of the world, so I am just assuming that Orange County is the one in Florida, and that is also the first choice that comes up on man’s best friend, google.
I am excited to see the upcoming r/nfl recruitment does. I would really love for the league to go through a huge expansion again. I do not mean adding more teams onto the league, you know, just the amount of players in the league getting bigger. Maybe if the rnfl recruitment works they will reopen up my baby the Norfolk Seawolves. I am still shaken up about what they did to my Seawolves. I had a lot of great times on them, and it is sad every time someone brings it up. Like, I was originally dissappointed about the Seawolved getting shut down because I would be losing my job of a GM, but that is not super relevant as I have been hired as Co GM for the TIjuana Luchadores. So, I am definetely still happy that I have a job and I can keep up being a GM, which I really do enjoy quite a lot. But, that does not mean that it is not hard to see the team that I went into the league on just get shut down and left to the bots. Hell, I was still on that team when it got shut down. Hey, maybe if this rnfl recruitment does well enough the Seawolves will open back up. Now that would be a dream come true. Even if I can not GM for them, it would just be great for some others to be on there.
Another great benefit of the recruitment working would be the discord getting even more active. I really enjoy the main disord quite a bit, and it would be great to see it grow even more.
If the next rnfl post really does work HO will look like genuises, as the expansion with the Butchers and Copperheads would easily be a success then. OF course, they would probably throw away their success by expanding the league even more to 12 teams or something, which would be a disaster and spread it out even more thin. I kind of doubt that the next rnfl post will do as good as the original one did, as a lot of people saw the first post, and either joined the first time, or they decided that it was not for them and they just ignored. I doubt that the number of people who ignored it the first time and then when they see the post a second and they decide that they want to join would be very high at all. I mean, I guess technically I did that. There is a chance that I have already talked about this so if I did then you can just ignore this part, but do forgive me, this post has been in progress for over a month, and I do not have everything I have written about all memorized. So, about a year ago, not one hundred percent sure about that number, I somehow stumbled upon the NSFL website, and I was pretty interested in it, as I am a big football fan and not the best football player so the ability to pretend that I am a good football player seemed like a great idea. I explored the website more and more, and just decided not to make a player. I think that I thought that all of the good positions would have already been taken, so there was no point in making a player in the first place. ANd also I thought the player creation was way too complicated, but to be fair, I did not give a lot of time looking into how to create a player. Honestly, making a player is not all that hard. I mean, I guess that is easy for me to say after making a player and being in the league for a couple of months. It definitely seems daunting at first. The scaling of the price of the tpe can be kind of hard to understand that the higher you have in an attriute, you more expensive it is to upgrade that chosen attribute.
I really regret not joining the league back when I could have. It seems like I missed out on a lot of history back then. It is kind of impressive how Numbers and Dermot have every tidbit of NSFL history stored up in their brains. It seems like every other night they go on a history spree. There are a lot of interesting stories that I hear about, like Noble. Ooooh I wish I was there for the Noble times. That seemd like an interesting time to be in the NSFL. Who was it that decided that it was a good idea to make a known cheater in other sim leagues the commissioner of this league. Especially considering how much HO likes punishing cheaters. Okay that is kind of a regular thing, you know, punishing cheaters is a good thing, but I meant how severely they punish them. The other day I was reading the HO punishment section, and damn, some of those punishments were harsh. That SwagSloth punishment was horrible. Like Jesus, he did not cause any harm to the league whatsoever, and he himself turned himself in. I mean, maybe I do not have the full story or whatever, who cares. The only other punishment that really comes to mind is not even of a cheater, it what the YTB retirment scandal thing. To be honest, I thought that the punishment was really fair, so this does not really fit the topic of HO being unfair about punishments, but it is 4 in the morning and can not think of anything else to write about. I think YTB had to be punished, because he did break the rule. Well, I mean I guess it was not more of a rule that he broke. He followed a rule. There was nothing prohibiting him from unretiring, you know, besides the 20% tpe reduction. By the rule, YTB should have been punished 20%. But it was an April Fool’s day prank! You can not ruin some bodys career just because of a practical joke. That would have been super ridiculous. I think that HO found a really reasonable common ground, and 5% is that.
I said in that last paragraph that the 20% tpe reduction would have ended his career, but I have heard that that is not really true. Somebody told me that rushing production does not mean that much after you get to 400 tpe. That number does not sound exactly right, as max speed and endurance is definitely higher than that. So, Marquise Brown was at about 10000 tpe at the time, so he easily would have had max speed and endurance, so even if HO did lay down the law on YTB, he still would be in a good spot and likely be one of the best runningbacks in the league, just maybe the reduction would make it more fair for all of the other running backs in the league, cause YTB has been so dominant in that field for the last couple seasons. I mean, regardless of how good he still would have been with the reduction, it is not like anyone just wants to lose a couple hundred tpe just for making a dumb joke on april fools day. Hands are important to have, even for a runningback. How else would they carry the ball? Besides that, he probably lost like some pass blocking or agility or something, and while they do not have the biggest effect on running back production, they still obviously at least have to have some impact on how your player will play. If they do not, then wow, this sim really is one of the most trash things there is.
I think it would be really cool to have the sim be simmed in Madden. Obviously there are a lot of problems with Madden, but is is not like there are not problems with DDS;PF16. I think that one of the biggest challenges to get through would be transferring all of the players from DDSPF into Madden. Making players in madden can take a LONG time. It is a slider, so you have to hold the slider all the way pressed for like a good 10 seconds, and that gets really annoying, especially if you have to do that for a whole league. Actually, now that I think about it, Madden has an online mode, so multiple people could be doing the file all at once. Now that would actually make that a whole lot quicker I believe. Now, I think you can have like 32 people all on it at once, so that could get done pretty damn quick. Of course, there are a whole load of other problems. Like Madden does not really let you customize very well or even at all. We could not get any of our custom teams into the sim, which is a huge draw back as that would take us out of immersion, as you are supposed to be imagining watching the Hawks play, but really you are watching the Patriots. Oh and also you can not change how many teams there are in the league, so that pretty much makes it unusable right there. The other problem comes in the form of not being able transfer in NSFL history into Madden. All time leaders would not be able to be counted anymore as you would not be able to start counting tackles, for example, in DDSPF, and then switch into Madden, and just assume that Madden has the same amount of tackles that DDSPF has. And there certainly is not a way to change it, because Madden kind of sucks.
