(S16) - PT1 - NFL - Bigred1580 - 07-08-2019 (S16) - PT1 - NFL Complete the weekly Point Task to earn 3 TPE! All written responses must be at least 200 words. All graphic responses must show at least some effort. Do not claim this TPE until it has been graded and posted to the S16 claim thread. Also, if you try to build your word count by being super repetitive and rambling on, you will not get full credit. This task is due next Sunday, July 14th, at 11:59 EST. Have fun and get writing! Written Option: Most of us if not all of us are found this league due to our interest in real football. The NFL is a juggernaut and most of us have chosen our renders off real life NFL players. Write about the NFL player that your character models their game off of. Whether you are a diva WR like TO, or a down-to-business guy like Larry Fitz. Write about how their game or personality compares to your player. YOU DONT NEED TO WRITE ABOUT YOUR RENDER! Or Graphic Option: Make a sig of that nfl player if they transferred to the NSFL. Use their real name, not your characters. Must show legitimate effort and not copy a gfx already in existence. Reminder, Graphic Options are unable to be submitted for GFX grades. It is either one or the other. His game is simple, charge through the offensive line and sack that unfortunate quarterback who was standing there. His speed penetrates the front line of an offense by forcing the running back to try and block you to no avail, as you run towards a quarterback who seems to already have dinner reservations. A large lad who doesn't care about how critical the media means to him, the league, or his team, as he wows the audience with his impressive speed, bulk, and of course, the sexy muscles that impress the ladies who are looking for a dream husband. Running backs often fear Donald for these reasons, as some teams try to modify their playbooks to specifically counter his interior rushing techniques, as offensive linemen get slaughtered out of the way for an unfortunate QB to suffer a sack, or in a worst scenario, fumbling the ball and it gets returned for touchdown for the defensive side, bad sign for the offense as the league frowns upon the shamed QB and his awful o-line as the media criticizes them. (204 Words) (S16) - PT1 - NFL - hihihi_62 - 07-08-2019 Mervin Leonard models his game after retired NFL CB Darelle Revis. Similar to Revis Leonard prides himself on being able to lineup against the opposing teams premier wide receiver one on one and completely lock him down all game long. He’s going to lineup against you with minimal safety help, press you at the line then dare the QB to throw his way as he sticks in your hip pocket all the way down the field. If the QB IS brave enough to take a shot his way more likely than not things are not going to go the way he intended. Like his idol, Leonard is not only a physical freak but is also highly intelligent and spends just as much time in the film room as he does the weight room. Both of these CBs are one step ahead of the WR at all times and thanks to meticulous preparation they always seem to know what play is going to be run before each snap. Any player forced to lineup across from Leonard is going to be in for a frustrating afternoon. Who knows, maybe before it’s all over Leonard can have his own island somewhere beside the legendary Revis Island. 203 Words (S16) - PT1 - NFL - Mooty99 - 07-08-2019 As an Atlanta Falcons fan I hate to admit this but Mako Mendonca's game is actually based on Alvin Kamara rather than Devonta Freeman as you would have expected. I haven't really forgiven Freeman for his inability to block in the super bowl plus he has a bit of an attitude. Kamara is a quality player both on and off the pitch exactly how I wanted Mako to play. Kamara's fast and elusive running style is absolutely stunning but the best part of his game is his quality as a pass catcher. Anyone who follows PFF will know that running backs are unfortunately the least most important part of an offense, however what really pushes up their worth is playing a big part in the passing game, and this is what Karama does, having Kamara coming out the slot to catch causes serious problems to opposing defenses. The last point is that Kamara was the first player in NFL history to have 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in his first 20 games. The other part to Kamara is how little you hear about him off the pitch, while that sounds odd, it just shows you what a pro he is, nothing is worse than the off the pitch hijinks of players like Bell or Elliott. (219 words) (S16) - PT1 - NFL - flyeaglesfly29 - 07-08-2019 Updater Pass (S16) - PT1 - NFL - Frick_Nasty - 07-08-2019 Mo Berry is not based of just any old NFL player. no Berry is based of the future NFL star and current Nebraska Cornhuskers Blackshirts Leader Mohammed Barry. Mohammed Barry is an inside linebacker for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Mohammed Barry was Nebraska's leading tackler in the 2018 Season. He had a total of 112 tackles 55 solo 57 combined. 2 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and a pass deflection. Mohammed Barry lead the Big Ten last year in average tackles per game with 9.3. Mo Berry is the same in leading the Colorado Yeti by recording 114 tackles last year 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 6 pass deflections. There is not another player I would model Mo Berry after because it's exactly who he should be like. If I had to pick a NFL player because of prompt reasons I would choose another Nebraska great linebacker and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Lavonte David. Another Middle Linebacker who is always at the ball making a tackle. Mo Berry will solidify himself as one of the best the National Simulation Football League has ever seen when he cements the best career by a linebacker ever. Or so I hope so or I will just look like an idiot. (S16) - PT1 - NFL - SabaDonutMan - 07-08-2019 Saba Donut is based off of the 3 time Superbowl champion and 1 time Superbowl MVP Julian Edelman. They are both an all-round WR that doesn't specialize in one thing but can always get the job. Usually you have him routes that put him on a 1v1 or that give him separation from the defensive back. The dbs never know what hit them. Sometimes, you need to just trust them and throw up the ball in hopes that they catch it, and they never disappoint. Defensive backs fear them because of their excellent combination of hands and speed while having the endurance to take the ball down the field. Also, they both are targeted the most out of every receiver on their team(while Saba Donut was on Oregon). Defensive Coordinators wake up sweating in the middle of the night because of nightmares of Donut and Edelman smoking their defenses. Occasionally they occasionally mess up by being overworked(while Saba Donut was on Oregon). Lastly one of the biggest similarities is, they are both very chill and calm. They don't ruin the team chemistry and create havoc in the locker room. They are always polite and are a team player. (S16) - PT1 - NFL - Rising Equinox - 07-08-2019 Despite T.J. Watt being his player render, Lanzer Grievous is actually inspired mainly by Ryan Shazier. Choosing my position was a pretty difficult decision at first, because I was planning on ever position switching, so whatever I chose would be what I was stuck with. When I decided on LB, I knew exactly what I wanted to do as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I wanted to model him after Ryan Shazier's playstyle. He was one of the league's best LB's before his injury, and one of the biggest things that separated him from other LB's was his ability in pass coverage. That is why Lanzer Grievous is the coverage LB archetype. He is a LB that can be a huge playmaker all over the field. He can also step into a coverage position when needed. This was my original goal with Lanzer, and I feel like he's met my expectations so far, maybe even exceeded some of them. I still don't think he's on Shazier's level of skill in coverage yet, but one day he will hopefully get there. One reason I chose T.J. Watt for my player render, instead of Shazier, is because I felt like he fit the personality of what I wanted for Lanzer better. Watt is a leader on the defense, just like Grievous, and neither of them are huge divas or really care about the media spotlight at all. They just want to win and he the best teammate they can possibly be. |
