*Prospect Bowl Top Performers - Modern_Duke - 08-14-2019

As we approach the Prospect Bowl playoffs, I wanted to highlight some of the players that have stood out to me so far. This isn't supposed to resemble a mock draft or anything, as I didn't look at a single player's ratings, it's just based on performance. My apologies if I missed anyone and also it is entirely possible that these stats are slightly off, I compiled this mostly on mobile, which was not ideal. Also I didn't notice until too late that box scores also track pancakes and sacks allowed, so I didn't even consider any offensive linemen for this exercise. But hey, it's not like offensive linemen have ever been overlooked before, right? Without further ado:

1) Dees
Wait, no. Never mind.

...

1) Louisiana Purchase, CB, Pomona Mongoose
Just kidding. Alright seriously, without further ado:

*****

1) Hank McCoy, RB, Pomona Mongoose
110 Carries, 525 Yards, 4.77 YPC, 2 TD
The leader in both yards and yards per carry, McCoy has been a Beast. The 1-2 combination of McCoy and McTaco ("The Big Macs"? Just a thought) has been a huge reason for the Mongoose's success in the round robin stage.

2) Chico De La Agua, LB, Midwest Wolfpack
63 Tackles, 4 TFL, 2 Sacks, 3 PD, 1 Int, 2 FF, 2 FR
Talk about filling up the stat sheet. De La Agua has been basically doing it all for the Wolfpack.

3) Otto VanJensen, LB, Flint Sun Tropics
64 Tackles, 5 TFL, 3 PD, 1 Int, 1 FF
Basically a slightly-poorer man's De La Agua. The Sun Tropics haven't had the best time on the offense, but VanJensen has been a star on a defense that has been asked to carry a lot of weight.

4) Mathias Hanyadi, RB, East Cobras
114 Carries, 503 Yards, 4.41 YPC, 2 TD
A true workhorse back. The leader in carries and a still a strong yards per carry average. Has been especially effective against the Mongoose, unfortunately.

5) Dorian Cope, WR, Pomona Mongoose
29 Receptions, 385 Yards, 13.3 YPC, 3 TD

6) Jake Watson, WR, East Cobras
31 Receptions, 380 Yards, 12.3 YPC, 3 TD
Cope and Watson have almost exactly the same numbers. Cope gets the higher slot due to a slightly higher average and a little bit of Mongoose homer-ism on my part.

7) Orien Drake, RB, Midwest Wolfpack
84 Carries, 382 Yards, 4.55 YPC, 2 TD
Second highest yards per carry average, Drake just doesn't have much volume due to splitting reps with Jake Utler.

8) Matt Ammons, LB, East Cobras
65 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PD
The back to back 15-tackle games were impressive and showed what Ammons is capable of. The only knock on him is that he hasn't showed up much elsewhere in the box scores.

9) Victor Bravo, QB, Pomona Mongoose
93/156, 59.6%, 1060 Yards, 5 TD, 6 Int
Not the prettiest numbers, but he's been the top QB. Cue has talent, but has thrown almost 2 interceptions a game. Bravo had a rough finish to the round robin stage, but far outpaces the other 3 starting quarterbacks in terms of efficiency.

10) Lucky Dickerson, K/P, Pomona Mongoose
11/14 FG, 9/9 XP, 33 Punts, 45.0 Avg
Dickerson has missed more kicks than the best kicker (Frost), and has a lower average than the best punter (Power). However, he sneaks into the top 10 by probably being the 2nd best at both positions.

So, did anyone get snubbed? (again, very possible!)

It's awesome to see my name in with these great players! I was going to say you snubbed Frost (kicker) but with Dickerson having to handle punting and kicking, I agree with your choice to have him on the list instead

I was originally going to do Top 15 or Top 20. No lie, Frost was #12.
11-15 in no order was Frost, Allan, Toriki, Utler, and I think Kehoe
