*Post Draft Interview, Mack Arianlacher - LordMacharius - 10-08-2019 Commercials end as a cardinal flies across the screen and sits in the middle. A banner flows across the bottom of the screen “Stanford Cardinal Linebacker Taken Fourth Overall.” A remote reporter sits inside Mack Arianlacher’s house. Reporter: Mack, you were taken sixth overall in the DSFL draft. MA: Yes I was. Reporter: Were you expecting this? Did you know it was going to happen? MA: Honestly, not at all. I’ve been waiting at home and chewing my nails off thinking about where I would go and who I would play for. I knew a couple of the scouts from San Antonio, so I thought I was going to go there 8th, but being picked early is definitely a pleasant surprise. Reporter: Are you excited to play in Tijuana? MA: I’m ecstatic to be honest. I think that the Luchadores are ready to go and win another DSFL Championship — and I’m excited to be a real part of it. I’m just excited to keep working on myself the way I need to be with the support of a team that I know is excited to have me. That’s also why I’m really happy that they took me sixth, that’s a really great nod of confidence. I won’t waste my time in the DSFL. Also, Tijuana has much nicer weather than my hometown, Chicago, so I'm happy that I'm going down south for the beginning of my career. Reporter: The Luchadores team is a perennial favorite for the DSFL ‘ship. That must create a very high pressure locker room. How do you think your team is going to do, and how does that pressure affect you? MA: Honestly, the Luchadores have a lot of young pieces — pieces that I’m excited to train up with on our quest to, like you said, get an eighth title. I think we have a real chance. A lot of the picks taken in the draft have made a strong team already stronger. With picks like Avon Blocksdale, Gary, Jordan Jackson, we’ve put ourselves in a great position. And, all these guys are great competitors. The pressure that the media and the community puts on us only drives us to win together. We use these media pieces to fuel our growth. Reporter: How do you see your future with the league? MA: Well, the Luchadores are a great team with some really great players. I’m ecstatic to be a part of their success this season, and I think that we can all help each other to reach our goals as a team. Obviously, the NSFL is the ultimate goal. I want to be as attractive of a prospect as possible, and it starts with training in the right ways. These Luchadores that have more experience than me, I’d love to pick their brains as we all try to win, again, together. Reporter: Even though you were taken 6th overall, you were still the 3rd choice for the Luchadores. Does that factor into your opinion about the team? MA: Well, I’m excited to see who these talents are that they thought were better than me! Jokes aside, I feel like that’s less of a slight to me and more of a credit to those guys. There are some seriously talented guys — and these are the people that I’m competing with for the NSFL draft. This is some great insight into what my value is currently, and I'm just going to use it to fuel myself to be better — make sure that my stats are better than everyone else’s. Blocksdale and Lazer-eyes are both all around guys, but still… the competition is on. My biggest concern for now is Hardagain. He’s a LB and went 1OA — maybe he’s better than me, maybe he isn’t. Reporter: I’d like to address a rumor about you for the upcoming NSFL draft. Some folks are saying that you’re going to ask to play at the Defensive Line for your team. Can you put this rumor to bed, or confirm anything? MA: Honestly, probably not! I have been considering this shift, but depending on how my year is with the Luchadores, I’ll see whether I want to make the shift. There’s a lot of considerations, so ultimately it will be a discussion with my NSFL GM, but I’m definitely not opposed to it. Reporter: Well, that’s all the time we have for today. Thanks for sitting down to talk to us, Mack, and we’re excited to see you on the field! Now after the break we go back to the studio for Jeff Jeffson’s story about the rest of the draft and how Tijuana is better than every other team. *Post Draft Interview, Mack Arianlacher - Dylandeluxe - 10-08-2019 That's my Linebacker :tears: *Post Draft Interview, Mack Arianlacher - woelkers - 10-10-2019 F *Post Draft Interview, Mack Arianlacher - AlexF - 10-11-2019 Trash |
