All written responses must be at least 200 words. All graphic responses must show at least some effort. Do not claim this TPE until it has been graded and posted to the S18 claim thread. Also, if you try to build your word count by being super repetitive and rambling on, you will not get full credit. This task is due next Sunday, October 27nd, at 11:59 EST. Have fun and get writing! Written Option: Fantasy Season is up and running. We have some steals and busts. We have some stars and some surprises. Write about how the season has gone so far from a fantasy football perspective. If you play fantasy, write about your team, if you don’t write about who on your NSFL team is a standout or a dud. If you are in DSFL, you can write about what players on your team would be fantasy starts if we did it for DSFL. I’m pretty open to how you want to do this, it just needs to relate to sim league Fantasy Football in some way. Or Graphic Option: Make a graphic Depicting your fantasy team, Include statistics or points scored on some of your star players. I feel like I got some absolute steals this season in NSFL fantasy and as the current leader in fantasy in the league, I feel like I had to pick up a few unexpected players to get there. I managed to pick up five players who currently are in the top 15 in fantasy points. My first steal happened to be Mr. Gump himself. Fantasy darling. Absolute point scoring monster. A lot of people had mixed feelings about the one overall pick. In the vast majority of the leagues, Torenson was believed to be the best for first overall. I had faith in Gump though and so far he's not proven me wrong as he leads the league in fantasy. As Torenson hasn't even broken the top 15 in fantasy points this season, that alone was a blessing. then I managed to snag Mendonca at 12 when half the league had him going off the board in the top 10. He's fourth right now in points scored, so that has been huge. Then I got Sunnycursed at 13. He one of the best scoring receivers so far and most other groups had him going between 8 and 10 with only one group having him dropping further than where I got him. Then I grabbed Havran at 23. Again, every group but mine had him going higher than 23 and he's only rewarded me by being second in fantasy points so far this season. The final steal I had was Bona’beri Jones. Most leagues didn't pick him up at all, but with the the final pick in my fantasy draft I took a chance on him. He's now top 10 in scoring. He's been an absolute stud and is massive for what my team has done so far. I hope the production keeps up, but so far I feel like I got steals across the board! (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - KC15 - 10-21-2019 PBE PT (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - ddrector - 10-21-2019 I've got a lot of experience playing NFL Fantasy football since Adrian Peterson's rookie year. He won me my league that year. In a similar vein, Forrest Gump is probably winning people leagues this year. He's leading the league in rushing yards by over 150 yards and has 7 rushing touchdowns. That's not even to mention his impressive receiving numbers. He's basically the NSFL equivalent of Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey. As a member of the Second Line defense, it's been great to see Gump continuously extend drives and give us rest on the sideline. It's part of why we are the top defense so far this season. The Second Line also has a top fantasy receiver in Bona'beri Jones who is 3rd in yards, tied for the most receptions, and only 1 receiving td behind the leader. He is consistent just like Michael Thomas of the Saints. Now quarterback is probably the most frustrating position for NSFL fantasy players. The Second Line qb, Stan Francisco, had a good start to the season, but then week 4 happened. 5 interceptions in one game after throwing 2 in week 3. He started out the season with no interceptions through 2 weeks, and then the floodgates opened. This has to be frustrating for fantasy owners who thought they had a safe qb option, but Stan went all Jameis Winston in week 4. Hopefully he got the interception bug over with and will dominate the rest of the season. (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - Dylandeluxe - 10-21-2019 While I don't play fantasy or follow it in the NSFL , if I did I would have certainly tried to draft Gump. The dude is on pace for a historic season as a running back and I am assuming that it is translating for Gump owners in the NSFL Fantasy football world. With roughly 800 total yards and 7 td's he can almost single handedly win you a fantasy game. On pace for 2800+ total yards and 28 TD's, Run Forrest Run can simultaneously be heard by New Orleans Second Line fans and Forrest Gump fantasy owners alike as he runs roughshod over NSFL defenses week in and week out. Besides Gump, Jones has been a breakout receiver this year for New Orleans and sits third in the league in receiving yards with 449 and 3 touchdowns. From fantasy players I have talked to, Jones was a late or undrafted player that is bringing huge value to their teams. I don't think many outside of The Big Easy expected this breakout year and Fantasy owners certainly did not either. So I think the theme this year is if you want to win your fantasy league, draft New Orleans Second Line players. Purple is all the craze this year anyways. (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - Murtsi - 10-21-2019 So overall I have to say I’m pretty happy about my fantasy team and I feel it is quite balanced. I was the fifth pick in the draft and I think that is shown in my team. Currently I think I am being hard carried by Corvo Havran, who is having an awesome start to the season and is currently the second or third highest scoring player in fantasy. He is not making that many mistakes and he is throwing most of his teams touchdowns. Another part of my team which has been performing really well has been my defense, the one and only, Yellowknife Wraiths. With the showing against Chicago and then against Philadelphia, really showed their potential and I feel it will help me this season. Question marks so far have been Armor King who has thankfully put up a touchdown already and then my wide receiver Django Anoa’i. If they are able to perform over expectatios, I feel like I really have a chance. In addition to them, Marshall, Sunnycursed and Slim Shady should all perform in the “as expected mould” where they put up decent stats but are not the make or break players in this team. So yeah overall I am happy with my team and especially picking Havran early enough. I would also like to congratulate all Forrest Gump owners, because he will carry you guys to 5 TPE. (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - SweetJamesJones - 10-21-2019 Fa Sweet, this fantasy shit ain't my forte cuz I'm all bout that real life shit. I do though, want this muh fuckin TPE so umma give it a shot. So I'm gone list out a few ballaz and duz fa y'all lil folk. ' Quindarius Tyerucker is a mf steal. In a pass heavy offense, Tyerucker has been impressing at running back. On pace for 1200 plus yards, he is quietly eating in the pass game. HE is also a viable option as a receiving back as well. Sweet James-Jones is also probably your best bet at WR let alone any skill position truth be told. Sweet is on pace for at least 74 catches and at least 1100 yards. That man is reliable then a MF let me tell you now. This man ain't never done nun like this and he already succeeding so he's a safe pick fasho. DTF! Deondre would be an excellent pick for QB in fantasy. Aside form his one mulligan game, he has been steadily consistent via the ground and through da air. Plus he has a lot of weapons around him and they all gone eat even more in the weeks to come. Thasss just a preview for all you FF fiends. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttt out (S18) - PT2 - Wha-What’s your Fant-ta-tasy! - scorycory - 10-21-2019 Well as a defensive player who is consistently putting up crazy stats along with the rest of our defensive players, I've gotta start with the Portland Pythons defense. If we were allowed into fantasy football leagues than we would be absolute darlings, you'd be stupid not to pick us as the first defense off the board. We consistently create turnovers and we haven't even played Myrtle Beach yet! As for our offense we have some solid performers there as well. Our running games has been legit with out two headed monster of Paco McTaco and RKANSAW N/A. And McTaco didn't even really get to play running back in the first game, the dude is so good that he lined up with us on the defensive side of the ball! Watch out for these two, they're gonna be big. As for the passing game we are no slouchs there. We have an absolute stud number one wideout in Jake Dropson who has been putting up mad stats all season. And don't sleep on Sean O'Leary either. Our rookie wide receiver has been putting up steady numbers all season and only looks to get better from here. And of course none of this would be possible without the consistent presence of out quarterback Jay Cue, who is dishing it out with the best of them. In short, it's a shame that the DSFL can't participate in fantasy football because the Portland Pythons have a bevy of fantasy talent just waiting to carry your fantasy team to victory. Keep and eye out for these boys! |
