*New Orleans Second Line - Top 10 lists - JuOSu - 11-12-2019 The index in this league certainly leaves a lot left to be desired, but there are still a lot of amazing things in it. I personally love history of these leagues, as many of you will know. I love the Top 10 pages in the index. Top 10 seasons, top 10 career, top 10 playoffs. It's a great way to dive into the history of the league but as I said, if anything, it just leaves you wanting more from them. I think you really want to know more. As a GM of a team, I obviously have even more vested interest in the history of my own team in particular. I wanted to know more about the history of our team, the stars and the players deserving to go into the team hall of fame. The pioneers of those trying to follow it. And I wanted to give my current players something to aspire to. Breaking league records can often seem daunting but maybe you can get into the top 10 on the team, or even break some records. Wouldn't that make you more motivated? I know for me it does! So I set out to look through the past indexes and did what I do best... data collection. A LOT of it. Days and days worth. This is mainly why I am milking this article a bit. I could just show you in pretty spreadsheet form, but frankly, I feel like my work deserves to get paid properly. So I will just show all the data copied into here. It also allows me to make comments more easily. I will share the spreadsheet at the bottom as well. So where to start. Well, the longest part of it was going through every single boxscore to find out game records. This definitely got faster as time went on, since records were harder to get broken after a while. At the end, I could look at a spreadsheet and immediately know if a stat was good enough to be top 10. it was wild. It also took until Week 13 in season 9 until there was a game where NO new stat was added into the top ten. Also crazy! In the end, every single season is still in this list somewhere, which I also thought was kinda cool. There are definitely stats where it seems almost impossible to enter the top 10, for games, mainly because earlier instances get priority when there is a tie. In bold, find new additions from the last season, season 18. On the left, it says in which season the game happened, fyi. As always, forgive any mistakes. This took a long time. Top 10 Games PASSING YARDS Season Name Record 10 B. Maximus III 539 10 B. Maximus III 467 5 L. Noble 456 9 B. Maximus III 451 9 B. Maximus III 440 8 B. Maximus III 439 11 B. Maximus III 433 9 B. Maximus III 428 12 B. Maximus III 426 10 B. Maximus III 423 While making this document, I mainly went in order obviously and for a long time, Noble dominated these stats, until Borkus came around. He destroyed basically all other QBs except that one Noble game in S5. 539 seems insane and even getting above 423 to get into the top 10 seems daunting. PASSING TOUCHDOWNS Season Name Record 8 B. Maximus III 5 10 B. Maximus III 5 8 B. Maximus III 4 8 B. Maximus III 4 8 B. Maximus III 4 9 B. Maximus III 4 9 B. Maximus III 4 10 B. Maximus III 4 10 B. Maximus III 4 11 B. Maximus III 4 Obviously very hard to enter the top ten here, as 5 TDs are needed, but a good game could certainly make it happen. Also funny that it is JUST Borkus again. PASSING INTERCEPTIONS Season Name Record 5 L. Noble 6 5 L. Noble 5 18 S. Francisco 5 2 J. Bercovici 4 3 J. Bercovici 4 2 J. Bercovici 3 3 J. Bercovici 3 3 J. Bercovici 3 4 W. Stone 3 5 L. Noble 3 It is somewhat possible that I missed some 4 INT games, or at least it feels like there should be more of them. Certainly not happy that my first entry into this list is from a 5 interception game but what can you do. PASSING PERCENTAGE Season Name Record 3 J. Bercovici 88.00 4 W. Stone 83.33 9 B. Maximus III 80.00 18 S. Francisco 77.77 8 B. Maximus III 77.55 12 B. Maximus III 77.14 11 B. Maximus III 76.47 8 B. Maximus III 74.54 10 B. Maximus III 74.46 9 B. Maximus III 74.35 Well at least I also made it onto the list in a positive way. I feel like this list certainly still has some room to improve. It's also interesting that Bercovici and Stone managed to get the top two spots for this list. PASSING RATING Season Name Record 9 B. Maximus III 145.2 9 B. Maximus III 144.2 12 B. Maximus III 128.4 Again, Bercovici and Stone manage to get on the top 10 list. But Maximus dominates the list with some amazing games. RUSHING YARDS Season Name Record 8 D. Smallwood 178 18 F. Gump 176 18 F. Gump 164 9 D. Smallwood 160 10 D. Smallwood 149 18 F. Gump 147 18 F. Gump 146 6 A. Savea 144 8 D. Smallwood 143 15 T. Swift 142 Here we see a big impact that the S18 season made. Forrest Gump managed to get on the best rushing game FOUR times this season and managed to attack Smallwood's attack. RUSHING AVERAGE (min. 10 attempts) Season Name Record 14 B. Maximus III 11.6 16 S. Francisco 11.0 11 B. Maximus III 8.3 8 D. Smallwood 7.2 13 T. Swift 7.1 15 T. Swift 7.1 15 A. Danielsson 6.9 15 A. Danielsson 6.6 14 A. Danielsson 6.4 15 T. Swift 6.1 I decided on 10 attempts so that QBs wouldn't dominate this list, but the top three still ended up with Quarterbacks, who had a big rushing game. I actually made this list as well, which makes me happy. No Gump on this list yet, interesting that Danielsson and Swift made it so often. I actually think there was one game where both Swift and Danielsson made it into this list, both of them for the same game! RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS Season Name Record 9 D. Smallwood 4 16 T. Swift 4 3 A. Savea 3 8 D. Smallwood 3 8 D. Smallwood 3 8 D. Smallwood 3 9 D. Smallwood 3 9 D. Smallwood 3 9 D. Smallwood 3 12 B. Gore 3 This will also be almost impossible to get onto. It would take four touchdowns. Only two have done it so far. RECEIVING CATCHES Season Name Record 6 P. Tomatonose 12 5 F. Booter 10 8 P. DiMirio 10 8 A. Savea 10 8 P. DiMirio 10 10 P. DiMirio 10 10 P. DiMirio 10 12 P. DiMirio 10 7 J. Reigns 9 8 C. Law 9 This is somewhat possible, 10 catches has happened a few times, so it could still be improved here. Tomatonose with the rare appearance on these lists with the one 12 catch game in team history. Obviously tight ends tend to favor in this category. RECEIVING YARDS Season Name Record 3 A. LeClair 165 14 T. Swift 161 14 V. Fyodorovich 160 5 D. Evans 150 6 D. Evans 146 16 B. Jones 145 11 V. Fyodorovich 141 12 V. Fyodorovich 140 17 V. Fyodorovich 138 7 D. Evans 137 For a long time while making this, Evans dominated this list and had almost all the positions in it. LeClair somehow managed to get the top spot very early on. But then, Fyodo made a big impact in the later seasons and holds almost half the spots now. Jones and Swift also got on it. RECEIVING AVERAGE (min. 3 catches) Season Name Record 14 T. Swift 42.0 16 B. Jones 36.2 9 D. Evans 35.7 12 V. Fyodorovich 33.5 14 T. Swift 32.2 8 C. Law 32.0 4 J. Ross 31.3 5 D. Evans 31.2 14 V. Fyodorovich 30.8 6 D. Evans 30.2 I chose 3 catches as sort of a low threshold here, but I didn't want one big catch to destroy the average. 3 seemed like a good compromise. A very interesting list with a lot of different names appearing on here. RECEIVING TOUCHDOWNS Season Name Record 3 A. LeClair 3 8 D. Evans 3 2 A. LeClair 2 3 C. Tanner 2 3 C. Tanner 2 4 J. Ross 2 4 A. LeClair 2 5 F. Booter 2 5 D. Evans 2 7 J. Reigns 2 Similar to the rushing list, it would take a lot to get on here, but it seems do-able in my mind. TACKLES Season Name Record 12 B. Mills 16 17 Q. Bode 16 5 W. Stone 15 5 L. Washington 15 7 J. Broxton 15 11 J. O'Sullivan 15 12 B. Mills 15 18 Q. Bode 15 2 T. Varga 14 9 V. Sharipei 14 Another S18 appearance, Quenton Bode actually made it on the list twice, with a 16 and a 15 tackle game. He has been fantastic and is pursuing the #1 spot for tackles in general in league history. I am also happy that I have a 15 tackle game on here as well. TACKLES FOR LOSS Season Name Record 16 L. Rax 5 4 B. Bot 4 5 J. Cox 4 12 L. Rax 4 16 L. Rax 4 2 T. Bullard 3 2 B. Crocker 3 3 B. Stropko 3 3 B. Blade 3 3 V. Lockkeu 3 Very hard to get on this list, but as we saw with Rax it is still possible, who has three of the top spots. FORCED FUMBLES Season Name Record 2 T. Varga 1 2 D. Speed 1 2 D. Speed 1 2 T. Varga 1 2 B. Crocker 1 2 L. Morgan 1 2 V. Cox 1 2 B. Stropko 1 2 D. Speed 1 2 V. Cox 1 This is a boring list, since no one ever had 2 and therefore just the earliest ones are at the top. FUMBLES RECOVERED Season Name Record 2 V. Cox 1 2 M. Ramrio 1 2 B. Stropko 1 2 D. Speed 1 2 T. Varga 1 2 V. Cox 1 3 D. Speed 1 3 T. Shoate 1 3 D. Speed 1 4 L. Mills 3 7 B. Oakes 3 7 J. Broxton 3 8 J. Askins 3 8 B. Oakes 3 9 G. King 3 As we see, no one after S10 made this list, getting four seems very tough, unlikely to change often anymore. INTERCEPTIONS Season Name Record 10 V. Fyodorovich 3 2 D. Speed 2 3 D. Speed 2 3 S. Maddox 2 4 B. Oakes 2 7 B. Oakes 2 8 W. Harrison 2 8 B. Oakes 2 9 B. Bayley 2 9 W. Harrison 2 Three interceptions seem just as unlikely as four sacks. Only the immortal Fyodo did it, who played both offensively and defensively. PASSES DEFENDED Season Name Record 13 J. O'Sullivan 8 11 B. Oakes 6 13 D. Schneider 6 9 B. Bayley 5 10 B. Mills 5 12 W. Harrison 5 16 D. Taylor 5 18 J. Andrews 5 18 J. Andrews 5 2 S. Maddox 4 This list can definitely still be improved. As we saw in S18 when J. Andrews made the list twice! Well done to him! My 8 PD game stands out at the top. I had 2 tackles, 8 PDs that game, what a weird game. I think the opposing QB threw over 70 times. PANCAKES Season Name Record 4 S. Khan 9 3 W. Stone 7 3 S. Jefferspin 7 4 B, Samurai 7 4 A. Heel 7 4 S. Gomez 7 18 B. Ulysses 7 18 B. Ulysses 7 2 S. Jefferspin 6 2 T. Tebow 6 This list will change a lot still. I am not 100% sure on these, but essentially only players from S2-S4 and now S18 onwards are considered for the list as human players and not bots. Ulysses and others will challenge these a lot. So not much to speak of. I am not counting the games from the last season where the game happened but didn't actually count (#1 vs #4 seed). PASSING YARDS Name Record B. This is honestly one of the highlights of this article for me. One thing I will say is that I went by the end results in the index, which means that mid-season trades make this data slightly inaccurate. Players season's count at the end of the year, so basically whoever ended up on our team, I counted their whole year, whereas those traded away were not counted at all. It's just the nature of the data, would be way too much to fix that sadly. Overall, this should still be mostly accurate though. In bold again those that happened in S18. For the negative categories in this case I was able to sort them by lowest, since everyone has the sameish amount of games in a season. PASSING YARDS Season Name Record 10 B. Maximus III 5026 12 B.
