*The NSFL Goes to the NFL - CLG Rampage - 12-07-2019

Welcome back, everyone! Thank you so much to everyone who voted in the poll I put up last night, it got way more votes in such a short period of time than I ever could have expected. The results are in, so lets go meet the team!

Quarterbacks

Franklin Armstrong, OCO 88 Overall

Cooter Bigsby, YKW 88 Overall

2 very solid Quarterbacks overall to help lead this team. Armstrong is a little bit faster and more mobile on his feet, while Bigsby has the stronger arm with a bit less accuracy. Both of these quarterbacks are solid options for this team, and I will be using both of them throughout the season

Runningbacks

Forrest Gump, NOLA 86 Overall

Ashley Owens, COL 87 Overall

Marcella Toriki, NOLA 72 Overall

Owens and Gump have a lot of potential to form a deadly 1-2 punch in this offense, which unfortunately leaves Toriki on the outside looking in. However, she still has maxed out speed, so she'll still be useful here. Owens will likely be the starter on the team simply because he is more versatile, but we'll see how things shake up as the season goes on.

Fullbacks

Austin McCormick, NOLA 81 Overall

Verso L'Alto, BAL 77 Overall

I took some of the tight ends that didn't quite make the cut and decided to throw them in at fullback, because why not?

Wide Receivers

Nate Swift, YKW 90 Overall

Hugh Mongo, OCO 93 Overall

James Bishop, COL 90 Overall

Sunnycursed, YKW 90 Overall

Errol Maddox, BAL 90 Overall

Nacho Varga, PHI 85 Overall

Vinny Valentine, NOLA 76 Overall

There is one thing this receiving core is not: slow. Every single player on this list has 90 speed or more, and 4 out of the 7 are maxed out on speed. They're definitely not strong, but boy can they stretch the field. Opposing corners are going to have a lot of trouble stopping this receiving core unless they play almost exclusively press to slow them down at the line.

Tight Ends

Cameron Olsen, SJS 96 Overall

Johnny Blaze, OCO 94 Overall

Earl Sauce, BAL 76 Overall

The tight end group was one that surprised me with how strong it was. Olsen and Blaze are both going to be monsters on the field and Sauce isn't half bad either. This is arguably one of the strongest offensive units on the team, so they'll be a favorite of mine to target.

Offensive Linemen

Brave Ulysses, NOLA 90 Overall Left Guard

Givussafare Rubbe, NOLA 90 Overall Right

Edmond Beaver-Dantes, AUS 87 Overall Center

Yes, my friends, we do indeed have some fair rubs in this team! Unlike the sim, Madden has a use for linemen and gives them much better ratings overall. These 3 are actually very good O-Linemen according to Madden and should be strong stalwarts in the trenches.

Defensive Ends

Nero Alexander, YKW 85 Overall Left End

D'Pez Poopsie, BAL 76 Overall Left End

Zach Hall, PHI 71 Overall Right End

Steco Ocewilder, COL 71 Overall Right End

The defensive ends, however... Pretty meh. The issue is that since I was using intelligence to determine stuff such as Awareness and Play Recognition, low intelligence absolutely kills defensive players. They're still fast and strong, but we'll have to see if physical attributes can overcome those shortcomings.

Defensive Tackles

Ryan Leaf Jr., CHI 87 Overall

Thorian Skarsgard, OCO 86 Overall

Bubba Thumper, COL 82 Overall

Bjorn Ironside, NOLA 71 Overall

The defensive tackles are better overall compared to the DEs, besides Bjorn. I don't know why Bjorn is so much worse compared to Thumper, because their stats are fairly close in Madden, but I have no clue how it calculates stats, so that's just how it is. Overall, the defensive line is decent if not exceptional.

Linebackers

Mo Berry, COL 89 Overall Middle Linebacker

Thudd Kassel, PHI 80 Overall Middle Linebacker

Lanzer Grievous, OCO 95 Overall Right Outside Linebacker

Johnny Slothface, NOLA 91 Overall Left Outside Linebacker

Quenton Bode, NOLA 86 Overall Middle Linebacker

Net Gaines, AUS 79 Overall Left Outside Linebacker

Maurice Virtanen, YKW 81 Overall Right Outside Linebacker

The linebacking core we have here is very strong. Slothface and Grievous form a deadly punch on the outside with Berry and Bode locking down the middle. The backups for all of the starters are also very good and these guys should all perform well in games.

Cornerbacks

Emondov Emoji, PHI 96 Overall

Johnny Snuggles, YKW 95 Overall

Axel Hornbacher, COL 92 Overall

Dermot Lavelle Jr., AUS 90 Overall

Louisiana Purchase, COL 79 Overall

Korrin Abernathy, OCO 72 Overall

Here is where we get to the true strength of this team: its secondary. Because wow, these corners and safeties are incredible. Once again, all of these guys are well over 90 speed with 3 of them being either as dammit to near max or maxed on speed. Even Abernathy should be a solid option for this team considering his coverage is solid and he is very fast.

Safeties

Richard D'Attoria V, PHI 97 Overall Free Safety

Lightsout Lewis, YKW 97 Overall Free Safety

Danny Grithead, YKW 96 Overall Strong Safety

Pete Parker, COL 75 Overall Strong Safety

Legion of Boom Who? Simply put, this would be the best safety group in the league and its not even close. The two best free safeties in the league, the best strong safety and a solid backup strong safety makes this one of the top secondaries in the league already.

Kicker

Baxter Frost, PHI 76 Overall

Decent kicker at 84 power and Accuracy, should be enough for most field goals. Really long ones might be tough, but that's ok, I'd miss them anyways.

Punter

Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname, OCO 82 Overall

Alex definitely has the leg to make punts count, especially accuracy wise. Hopefully my punting skills in-game are better than they were a few years ago.

Kick Returners

Sam Torenson, PHI 69 Overall

Mathias Hanyadi, YKW 64 Overall

Punt Returners

Saba Donut, ARI 75 Overall

Sweet James-Jones, CHI 68 Overall

All that matters for these guys is that they are fast and don't drop the kicks. Otherwise, not a whole lot else matters.

This team overall is extremely strong. Madden rates them at 94 Overall, making them the highest rated overall team in Madden 18. To finish this article off before I start doing some games, here are some interesting stats from the survey.

-Every team was able to send at least one representative to this team! Yellowknife had the most players on this roster with 9, followed by Colorado and Orange County with 8 each. Arizona and San Jose had the least players on the roster with 1 each. Chicago and Austin only sent 2 players to this roster.

-The man with the most votes overall was Mo Berry, with 32 out of 39 participants electing to choose him as one of the team's linebacks. Second in that list was Cameron Olsen with 29 out of 39, followed by Nero Alexander, Nate Swift and Sunnycursed who all pulled in 26 votes.

That's all I have for you today! Over the next few days, I'll be starting up a franchise with this team and seeing how they can do against the NFL. So long everyone, and have a nice night!

I wasn't expecting to be the highest rated LB. Time to get some Madden sacks!

This is awesome! It would be really cool to see a DSFL team as well!

I would, but to put it simply, DSFL players are awful in Madden. They generally sit in the low 60s, and while I consider myself decent at the game, a QB with 70 throw power and 70 accuracy is hell. You straight up just can't win unless you do some mega cheese and break the AI.

Totally fair! It might be a slaughter lol

Counterpoint: mobile QB

Edit: nvm that’s basically cheese-and-break-the-AI

I can be backup kicker/punter if needed

Even Cue simply wouldn't have enough speed to get past any defensive player in the NSFL. Cue has 72 speed at the moment. For context, Joe Flacco has 73, and trying to run with Flacco is like going through maple syrup. He maybe has enough throw power and accuracy to make it work, but the people would vote in Gimmy anyways so I'd be stuck with a QB that can't throw further than 10 yards, lol.
