*Power Ratings - Week 9 - speculadora - 12-17-2019

Feel like doing a bit of commentary this time but going to keep it separate from the main post.
  • Somehow, the ASFC continues to cling to four of the top five spots in the ratings. Austin lost a favored road game to San Jose, but got a slight boost from playing the Otters within a reasonable margin. Arizona, meanwhile, lost a close road game to a Philadelphia team they remain ahead of, but were able to stay in the #5 spot with a 20-point road win over San Jose.
  • Meanwhile, Yellowknife must have fucked the power ratings' wife. Despite beating formerly Colorado and Baltimore (formerly 6th and 2nd, respectively), the Wraiths gained just one spot in the ratings and still find themselves behind Austin (2-7) and Arizona (3-6). Yellowknife will have plenty of time to prove themselves better than both, however, with a road matchup against Austin and home matchup against Arizona yet to come.
  • Philadelphia continues to outkick their coverage, but their #7 ranking might be short lived with road games against Orange County, New Orleans, and Austin still to come, as well as a tough home game against Baltimore.
  • San Jose remains at the bottom of the rankings likely because of their putrid early season performance. Despite two wins over 4th ranked Austin and one over 2nd ranked New Orleans, San Jose is being kept in the basement over losses of 62, 35, and 46 points at various times this season. They'll likely need to make good on at least two of their remaining home games to pass Chicago for 9th place.
  • Looking at the scaled ratings, we've got just three teams considered above league average; Orange County, New Orleans, and Baltimore. Meanwhile spots 4 and 8 are separated by just 0.5% difference relative to league average. There is likely to be a ton of movement in those spots in the coming weeks.
