*NSFL to NFL, 10 Year Career - CLG Rampage - 01-08-2020

Alright, I’m sick and tired of doing the NSFL goes to NFL (mainly because I suck at Madden and throwing several interceptions per game gets really boring.) So I’m doing something more selfish and easier to do! Instead of working with an entire roster, I’ll work with my player and see how he does with a 10 year career in the NFL. Will he be a bust? Will he make it into the Hall of Fame? Let’s find out!

So, I wanted to go into depth on how I create ratings in Madden. Both so you can understand how players get their overall and so I can get more words and get fat stax. Gotta get that cash money, I’m sure you guys understand.

Stuff like strength, intelligence, agility, speed, etc. can be directly transferred over from the sim into Madden. Some stats are easy for me to abstract, such as acceleration also being determined by a character’s speed. But in the NSFL to NFL Series, for example, Madden has short, medium and deep accuracy as possible stats. So I used a simple formula to translate medium and deep accuracy so the QBs wouldn’t be sniping gods able to place a ball perfectly downfield every time. Stuff like carrying doesn’t have an easily transferable stat, so I used whatever made the most sense and made a formula. Carrying, for example, is strength + hands times 0.7, etc. So how does Hanyadi shake out, stats wise?

Mathias Hanyadi, 78 Overall
70 Strength
69 Agility
99 Speed
99 Acceleration
60 Awareness
75 Catching
99 Carrying
20 Pass Block
20 Run Block
75 Jumping
99 Kick/Punt Return
70 Trucking
69 Elusiveness
85 Ball Carrier Vision
70 Stiff Arm
69 Spin Move
69 Juke Move
70 Impact Blocking
75 Spectacular Catch
75 Catch in Traffic
75 Route Running
80 Injury
80 Stamina
80 Toughness

Actually, he’s not that bad. I thought the low awareness would really hurt his overall, but 78 is certainly respectable in Madden. I think he should be pretty good, especially with his maxed out speed, acceleration and kick/punt return stats. So, I put all the teams into a random number generator and let in run a few times. Hanyadi will end up on the Titans! (Apparently they really love NSFL players, considering that team is the base for NSFL to NFL.)

The plan is to sim ahead every season and see just how well Hanyadi can perform in the NFL. The game is set to All-Pro Simulation with him being the starting running back of the team. With all the extras out of the way, let us begin!

2017 Season

Final Record: 9-6-1

Stats

291 Rushing Attempts, 933 Yards, 3.2 YPC, 4 Touchdowns

20 Catches, 277 Yards, 13.9 Yards per Catch, 1 Touchdown

23 KRs, 593 Yards

30 PRs, 352 Yards, 2 PR TDs

A decent year to start it off! Hanyadi was the only player in the league with 2 punt return TDs, and Mariota had a 79(!?) yard touchdown run to boot. Hanyadi finished 6th in the AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year race, with the award going to Fournette on the 14-2 Jaguars. We’ll see if the simulation is more kind to us next season.

2018 Season

Final Record: 12-4, Lost in Divisional Round to Buffalo

Stats

281 Rushing Attempts, 838 Yards, 3.0 YPC, 7 Touchdowns

26 Catches, 438 Yards, 16.8 Yards per Catch, 4 Touchdowns

30 KRs, 810 Yards, 1 TD

35 PRs, 245 Yards

A slightly better season, but it’s easy to see why the rushing offense didn’t get much love when Mariota won MVP with well over 4600 Passing Yards and 34 TDs. We also got invited to our first Pro Bowl as the AFC’s kick returner! We’re on pace to have a good career, but the production needs to increase.

2019 Season

Final Record: 5-11

Stats

273 Rushing Attempts, 788 Yards, 2.9 YPC, 11 Touchdowns

39 Catches, 429 Yards, 11 Yards per Catch, 2 Touchdowns

25 KRs, 628 Yards

28 PRs, 245 Yards, 1 TD

Ouch. This season was pretty bad, all things considered. We continue to be worse and worse rushing wise which is not a great thing to see. The defense was one of the worst in the league and the offense simply was not good enough to carry it. So far, it’s not looking good for us. Maybe it’ll pick up soon, I certainly hope so.

2020 Season

Final Record: 12-4, Defeating the Falcons 38-35 to win the Super Bowl

Stats

302 Rushing Attempts, 1062 Yards, 3.5 YPC, 9 Touchdowns

27 Catches, 338 Yards, 12.5 Yards per Catch, 3 Touchdowns

14 KRs, 352 Yards

30 PRs, 240 Yards

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a ring! A strong offensive attack combined with the best defense in the league meant the league didn’t stand a chance. A barn burner of a Superbowl, with 38 points total scored in the 4th, ended the season on a high note. We’ll see if the team can become repeat champions.

2021 Season

Final Record: 12-4, Lost in Divisional Round to Jacksonville

Stats

296 Rushing Attempts, 1059 Yards, 3.6 YPC, 8 Touchdowns

28 Catches, 400 Yards, 14.3 Yards per Catch, 2 Touchdowns

20 KRs, 556 Yards, 1 TD

36 PRs, 287 Yards

Well, the Superbowl hangover didn’t hit as hard as I thought it would, but the season was still a disappointment. The offense stalled pretty hard against the Jaguars and got nowhere. Another bonus, however, we made the Pro Bowl for the second time, this time as the RB2 for the AFC!

2022 Season

Final Record: 10-6, Lost in Wild Card Round to Denver

Stats

274 Rushing Attempts, 1104 Yards, 4.0 YPC, 6 Touchdowns

25 Catches, 298 Yards, 11.9 Yards per Catch

19 KRs, 562 Yards, 1 TD

22 PRs, 242 Yards, 1 TD

We lost to Denver? Ugh. Another mediocre season where we make the playoffs but peter out early. It was another decent year for Hanyadi, but frankly we’re not getting anywhere near the Hall of Fame. Unlucky. And for some reason the AI continues drafting running backs in the 3rd to 5th round. Nice one, Madden.

2023 Season

Final Record: 10-6, Lost in Wild Card Round to Denver

Stats

288 Rushing Attempts, 1179 Yards, 4.1 YPC, 14 Touchdowns

17 Catches, 358 Yards, 21.1 Yards per Catch, 3 Touchdowns

23 KRs, 654 Yards, 1 TD

30 PRs, 234 Yards

Oh god, this better not be the start of a trend. Once again, 10-6, once again bounced out of the playoffs by the Broncos. It seems like the Superbowl we won back in 2020 didn’t end up meaning much. Hopefully next year we can have some more success and actually make a deep run again.

2024 Season

Final Record: 9-7, Lost in Wild Card Round to Pittsburgh

Stats

290 Rushing Attempts, 1183 Yards, 4.1 YPC, 11 Touchdowns

34 Catches, 451 Yards, 13.3 Yards per Catch, 3 Touchdowns

26 KRs, 656 Yards

23 PRs, 235 Yards, 1 TD

It’s a trend, of course. We get bounced in the Wild Card round three years in a row. We’re definitely playing in some kind of twilight dimension right now, narrowly making the playoffs only to get thrashed in the Wildcard game. With only two years left in our career, it’s not looking too good.

2025 Season

Final Record: 11-4-1, Lost in Conference Championship to Buffalo

Stats

316 Rushing Attempts, 1285 Yards, 4.1 YPC, 16 Touchdowns

27 Catches, 346 Yards, 12.8 Yards per Catch, 2 Touchdowns

22 KRs, 586 Yards, 1 TD

18 PRs, 215 Yards, 1 TD

The curse is broken, only to lose to Buffalo again! This was the best season of our career despite regression finally catching up to us and dropping our speed down to 97. We’re still good enough to rush for close to 1300 yards, however. And we made the pro-bowl as a kick returner again!

2026 Season

Final Record: 11-5, Lost in Conference Championship to New York

Stats

290 Rushing Attempts, 1197 Yards, 4.1 YPC, 6 Touchdowns

27 Catches, 348 Yards, 12.9 Yards per Catch, 4 Touchdowns

18 KRs, 446 Yards

24 PRs, 281 Yards, 1 TD

Mildly disappointing way to end this career. I suppose it hurts slightly less because the Jets managed to complete a perfect season (definitely the most unlikely thing in this entire simulation). So, how did this career shake out? Let’s take a look at the final numbers.

Career Stats

2901 Attempts, 10628 Yards, 3.7 YPC, 92 Touchdowns

270 Catches, 3683 Yards, 13.6 Yards per Catch, 24 Touchdowns

220 KRs, 5843 Yards, 5 Touchdowns

276 PRs, 2584 Yards, 7 Touchdowns

X1 Superbowl Champion

X3 Pro Bowler (KR x2, RB)

Not the best career as a running back, however Hanyadi is one of the great return men of the era. 5 kick return touchdowns puts him in the same area as Devin Hester. Fun fact, Hanyadi never fumbled the ball once in this career, nor has he had a rush longer than 6 yards. The Madden simulation is just as cruel in some places, it seems. So, a solid career, if nothing remarkable.

This is the first in a series of articles that I’m planning to make, taking individual players over to Madden and seeing how their careers shape up! Time now to start a vote on which QB will be brought over to the NFL. Vote Here to make your selection, the poll will close on Friday!
