*The Awards Committee Goes Bowling - Modern_Duke - 01-28-2020 A hooded figure walks cautiously through the night, frequently looking behind him to see if he is being followed. He hopes he got the address correct; the meeting was taking place at a new facility tonight. Perhaps headquarters has been compromised? He figures he will find out soon enough, as he spots the door he is looking for, and enters. He panics as he opens the door and hears a thunderous crash. "We *have* been compromised! They're here to take us out!", he thinks, before he hears his compatriot call out to him: "Oh hey man, glad you could make it!" The hooded figure takes a second to register what just happened, as well as all the lights and sounds of the building he just entered. Turns out the thunderous clash he heard was a 12 year old knocking down seven pins on lane 16. "...wait...you actually wanted to go bowling? I thought we were having a meeting to discuss the pro bowl" "Yeah no dude you probably misread my text. I just wanted to do something fun." "Huh. Yeah alright I guess...Hey, would the Awards Committee have any role in determining the Pro Bowl anyway?" "Hm, I guess not? Who's to say? We heard they were going to legitimize us, but we haven't heard anything since. Like who's going to be on the official committee? Who's going to be running this thing? *cough*pickme*cough* "But let's not worry about that right now. I already got us a lane. Go rent some shoes." "Sure. Hey, since we're on the topic, did you see the official Pro Bowl roster? Any issues with it?" "Well let's see...." Quarterback NSFC: Corvo Havran, Cooter Bigsby ASFC: Franklin Armstrong, Andrew Reese Possible Snubs: Wolfie McDummy, Easton Cole Potentially could have gone with McDummy over Bigsby, but Bigsby did lead the league in yards and touchdowns, so it's not like his selection is unwarranted. I just like pointing out that McDummy's season wasn't too far off from Armstrong's MVP season. Reese over Cole I'm not sure I agree with though. And it was a unanimous decision? Sure Reese threw for 600 more yards and 8 touchdowns than Cole, but he also lead the league in interceptions and Cole had the edge in basically every efficiency stat. Cole had the higher QB Rating (close, 82.2 vs 81.2), Yards/Attempt (7.18 vs 6.89) and Adjusted Yards/Attempt (6.69 vs 6.39). Runningback/Flex NSFC: Ludiculo Bigby, Sam Torenson, Ashley Owens ASFC: Forrest Gump, Mako Mendonca, Ruff Ruff I've got no issues here. Tight End NSFC: Earl Sauce, Declan Harp ASFC: Jammerson Irving, Johnny Blaze Possible Snubs: Cameron Olsen I like the selections, but if you're the type who prefers big play receiving stats, its worth noting Olsen's higher yard per reception average and more touchdowns than Irving. Wide Reciever NSFC: Errol Maddox, Nate Swift, Sunnycursed, James Bishop ASFC: Rod Tidwell, Kazimir Oles, Saba Donut, Django Anoa'i Possible Snubs: Josh Parker Same story here for Bishop vs. Parker. I personally would lean Parker, but it just depends on how much you care about yards per reception. Parker had 20 more catches than Bishop, but only put together 140 more yards with those. Defensive Back NSFC: Mervin Leonard, Arbin Asipi III, Mike Hockhertz, Richard D'Attoria V, Danny Grithead, Lennox Garnett, Walt Green ASFC: Deon Taylor, Lucas Knight, Chase Jensen, Tyron Brackenridge, Dan Schneider, Beau Montgomery Possible Snubs: Tyrone Biggums, David Rector, Joseph Wozniak Everyone on the NSFC side is pretty much set. For the ASFC, I would definitely argue Rector or Wozniak over Schneider. Schneider had good amount of tackles but was fairly empty elsewhere, while Rector had 6 sacks and 3 interceptions while also putting up a solid amount of tackles. Linebacker NSFC: Mo Berry, Ronald Watkins, Thudd Kassel ASFC: Raymond Vans, Lanzer Grievous, Johnny Slothface, Quenton Bode Possible Snubs: Guy Nikko I think we got the wrong Butchers linebacker. Watkins had 4 more tackles and 4 more PD than Nikko, but Nikko had 3 more sacks and 3 more interceptions. Defensive Line NSFC: Fabricio Baldari, Maurice Virtanen, D'Pez Poopsie, Bubba Thumper ASFC: Dick Wizardry, Grayson Kuusela, Chad Maulolo, Marc Spector Possible Snubs: Freezer Riposte No real problems here. Special Teams NSFC: Kulture Fulture, Neo Donaldson, Earl Maddox, Emendov Emoji ASFC: Alex D, Alfredo Crisco, Forrest Gump, Dermot Lavelle Jr. Fine here too. This article was shorter than I thought it would be, since I didn't really disagree with any choices too strongly. Good job, voters. *The Awards Committee Goes Bowling - Modern_Duke - 01-28-2020 Oh and also offensive linemen. Everyone single one got snubbed *The Awards Committee Goes Bowling - Frostbite - 01-28-2020 I mean, I won Punter of the Year, that has to be a snub *The Awards Committee Goes Bowling - Fordhammer - 01-28-2020 Bishop vs. Parker? How about Bishop vs. Varga who had the same stats on a much worse passing offense? |
