(S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Admin - 07-08-2017 This PT will run for the weekend only. The top 50 list is coming, which players should be on it? Your Task: Written: Tell everyone why your player, or a player you choose, should be in the top 50. Must be at least 200 words Or Grafx: Make a grafx submission hyping a player for the top 50 list Gain 2 TPE for completing the task in full Deadline: Sunday night, 11:59PM PST (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Admin - 07-08-2017 I think it should be easy to see why Josh Garden is a top 50 player in the NSFL. Despite his off field troubles the man shows up on game day every week. He finished the season with 70 catches for 1178 yards and 7 TDs. The 1178 yards led the NSFL and the 7 TDs was second behind Bradley Westfield's 8 TDs. Josh Garden also holds the record for most receiving yards in a single game. This feat came in week 10 vs the Baltimore Hawks when he got 131 receiving yards. All season Josh Garden was making big plays to keep his Yellowknife Wraiths in the game. He deserves to be in the top 50 because he is a superstar who is only going to get better. If he decides to stay in Yellowknife in season 2 it will be a big test as the team has traded away his receiving parter, Alexandre LeClair to the Las Vegas Legion. The two formed arguably the best receiving tandem in the league and it will be a challenge for Josh Garden to have to deal with all of the attention of the defensive backs now that LeClair isn't on the other side to threaten the defense. 205 words (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - White Cornerback - 07-08-2017 Why should Dermot Lavelle be in the top 50? Why not? He's already an elite caliber of player after all. For the primary reason that he's not eligible. S2 prospects are not able to make the S1 Top 50 list because the league doesn't see them as "true" rookies because they haven't been drafted yet. The NSFL is yet again undervaluing the impact of "waiver players" as they call them. They don't believe they should be valued, awarded, they're classified as the walks - ons of the professional football scene. You're telling me that a guy like Dermot Lavelle who became a top 3 CB in his pre rookie season isn't eligible? Or Gregor Clegane who's already a top 10 offensive lineman isn't good enough? Doesn't this prove that something's wrong in the NSFL? Surely they need a similar feeder scheme on which the NFL thrives on. We need an NCAA of our own. Perhaps the NSCL? The National Simulation College League would remove the need for waiver players as players would work their way up through the ranks of college football organised by the NSFL instead of playing for NCAA teams and having to share the talent between the NFL and the NSFL. (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Silver Fox - 07-08-2017 Going with Angus Winchester of the Orange County Otters on this one. The Aunt Jemima of the NSFL, he’s always ready with some pancakes. Over the 14 game regular season, he served up 65 piping hot pancakes to the opposing defenses; the next closest offensive lineman sits at 57. That’s an average of 4.64 pancakes a game! More importantly, he didn’t allow ONE sack on his QB the entire regular season. Sadly, he did allow his first sack in the divisional game against the Outlaws, but it’s still the best record by an offensive lineman bar none. There was just no stopping the Outlaws for the Solis Trophy. Angus did manage to add another 2 pancakes to his already impressive stack. The other reason I had to go with Angus was, offensive lineman just don’t get the credit they deserve. How much of Leroy Jenkins and Omar Wright’s running success was thanks to linemen like Angus? The Otters had the best yards per carry in the business, and that is in large part thanks to Angus, Clegane, and Yates. Meanwhile, teams like Baltimore with just 1 active lineman had an awful run game. So next time your QB has time to throw, or your running back has a nice hole to run through, take a moment to thank your local offensive lineman. The best of the best of them, Angus Winchester certainly deserves his spot in the top 50, hell, top 10. (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - timeconsumer - 07-08-2017 There are plenty of big names that will be almost guaranteed to hit the top 50 list. Players that none will argue belong there. George Wright Jr. is not one of those players. George will likely fall outside of many people's top-50 rankings because he isn't a high flying stat machine and because being a tight-end that excels at blocking isn't a very sexy position. But what the average person doesn't realize is that Wright Jr. is the most versatile player in the NSFL. George may be 4th in receiving yards (out of 6 #1 TEs) but he leads all tight ends in blocking stats, with 29 pancake blocks and only 1 sack allowed during the regular season. His measurables point to a guy loaded with ability, over 70 strength, over 60 blocking and hands, and sure, he's kind of slow, but a big strong guy like him is like trying to tackle an Abrams tank. It wouldn't shock this writer if George Wright Jr. doesn't make people's top-50 list, but ask Mike Boss, one of the least sacked QBs in the NSFL, who he thinks the best TE in the league is and he'll probably tell you it's George Wright Jr. @Player1 (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Molarpistols - 07-08-2017 Ian Bavitz isn't generally a person to write a piece on himself to try to convince people he's a great linebacker. He tries his hardest to prove he belongs in consideration for the top-50 players by his work on the football field. Bavitz anchored one of the top defenses in the league, tallying 100 tackles, 4 sacks, , 3 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, an interception and 5 passes defensed. These statistics put Bavitz among the best defenders in the league. While several other players had more tackles than him, few were playing for the Orange County Otters, a team that struggled offensively and often turned the ball over on their own side of the field. Even with the opponent getting the ball on a short field, the Otters still gave up the fewest points in the league through 14 games, a paltry 196 total, or 14 per game. The stingy defense of the Otters, lead by Ian Bavitz, kept the Otters in contention for the Ultimus Cup. Unfortunately for Bavitz, 4 interceptions by his offense and a kick return touchdown held him back from his dream of hoisting the Ultimus Cup. While being named a Top-50 player would be a good recognition of his efforts, it would probably not be much consolation to Bavitz. Code: 221 (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Blaster - 07-08-2017 Blaster Blade, a season two prospect. He should be on this list. Here are the reasons why. He was a top 5 DE, who was snubbed of the Pro Bowl. Hes performing like he is a season ONE player when he's set to join the season two draft. That's crazy. Hes on an elite level when he hasn't even been here as long as the other guys. That's enough for him to be on this list. His stat line is extremely impressive, third in tackles, one of the top two players in TFL, crushes the players and POPS that ball from the player with two forced fumbles and seven sacks. Hes just on another LEVEL. And the last reason is, he forced a sack... on Angus Winchester. Now some of you are like "cool" but this is no small feat. No OTHER Defensive End in the league has beat Angus Winchester because of the sheer power of Angus. He has not allowed a single sack in the regular season... until the playoffs came and the Otters faced off against the Outlaws. Blade was lined up against Angus and he finally beat Angus for a sack on the interception machine, Mike Boss. (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Grapehead - 07-08-2017 Why should I be on the top 50 player list? As one of the fastest corners in the league I have been so hard to escape from on the field. 53 tackles might not seem like a lot, but I'm getting them when it counts, and among CBs I am the only one with 2 TFL. On top of that I have 4 interceptions, which ranks me among the best in the league. Also I'm one of only a handful of players to block a punt, and the only CB to do so. My numbers may not be extremely flashy, but I stand out among other corners, and I believe I've done enough to be among the top 50 players in the NSFL. My name isn't thrown around a lot of league conversations, but that hasn't prevented me from hitting the field every game determined to make an impact for my team. I love Orange County, and I think they love me back; so it would be an honor to represent them on the NSFL top 50 list. Nothing would give me more pride than to see myself and many of my Otter family recognized among the top 50 players in the league. (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Noppadet - 07-08-2017 ![]() @Shaka (S1) - Weekend PT #5 - Top 50 - Jbearly - 07-08-2017 Why should Adamle Tomlinson be a top 50 player in the nsfl? He's the 2nd best de in the league, a pro bowler amd most likely winning another award to go along with it. He started out slow to start the season with only 10 tfl and 0 sacks in the first 8 weeks but he still ended up finishing the regular season with 10 sacks and 15 tfl. He had a more dominant stretch than anyone else in the entire nsfl and he's going to improve even more next year as he's already added 10 strength points and 10 speed points since the start of the season. He will most likely add even more speed in the off season to hit his absolute Max and he is an extremely active member of the community too. He deserves a spot in the top 20 at the very least and anything else will be a dissapointment to Tomlinson and other members on his team as well. He's done enough he feels to be one of the highest rated des in the entire league behind only maybe jayce tuck but definitely ahead of dental dam and blaster blade as he outperformed both of them with having a much better defense arounf him and less opportunities for sacks |
