*Rotticus Scott pre-draft interview - RotticusScott - 02-22-2020

Scotticus Rott live for fake ESPN, doing some pre draft interviews with our top prospects in the Season Twenty One National Sim Football League draft! I’m doing an interview with ironically named top cornerback prospect, Rotticus Scott!

How do you feel about your first season in the Developmental Sim Football League?

Well, although I didn’t put up too many flashy stats this season for the Buccs, I couldn’t be happier. It is the developmental league after all, and I feel I’ve done a lot of developing. I squeezed just about every ounce of TPE I could get out of this season, and ended up in a good place going into the offseason.

Myrtle Beach didn’t end up winning the ultimini, how have you recovered mentally since the big loss?

??Well, to be honest with you Scotticus, I really haven’t recovered yet. That loss was tough, I had some dumb penalties that game, and couldn’t help but feel if I came into the big one with better prep, that we could’ve pulled it off. The team stats are the thing I’m most proud of having the best defense in DSFL history, but not having that trophy in my trophy case will hurt for the rest of my career.

You were a 14th round pick, and are now looking to be a top 30-40 prospect in this new draft class, and the #2 overall corner back. How does that feel?

??Man, Scott, Can I call you Scott? Well Scott, it’s great. I don’t blame the DSFL GM’s, as I came from a smaller New England FCS school, but being drafted in the 14th round kind of stung at first. I quickly assimilated to the Myrtle Beach Locker room, though, and those guys really whipped me into shape. I think reaching 164 TPE after basically starting my grind the day I got drafted is pretty impressive, and should show the NSFL gm’s that I’m a really hard worker. I also thought it’d be really funny to be drafted 10 rounds lower than I was in the DSFL, so I put my mind to getting all of that TPE and making the meme come true.

Your camp has been raving about your offseason work, what have you been doing to get in even better shape before the draft?

Yeah, definitely been staying on the grind after the ultimini. I’m actually up 36 TPE since my last update, so I’ve finally bypassed that 200 TPE point. I’m hoping to be 240+ TPE by the time I get my first update post draft, but that’s a pretty lofty goal. Media work has gone up too, as I think getting my name out there is the best thing to help my achieve my goals. I’ve also been doing some work on the jugs machine trying to get my hands up, as I really want to turn some passes defensed into interceptions next season. I’ve also been doing some long distance sprints, as I felt my biggest issue last season was burst speed. I was getting really tired on those long drives (although they didn’t happen often with our defensive strength), but hope that my endurance work will help keep me on the field more next season. I also just recently picked up a job as a full time updater for Season Twenty One, so I’ll hopefully have some money to throw around in Season Twenty Two to get some training with an all time great Defensive Back in the league!

What are your expectations for your 2nd season in Season Twenty One?

From what I’ve seen I don’t really expect to be playing for whatever team drafts me in Season Twenty One. The amount of skill and work these guys the big leagues do is ridiculously impressive, and I can’t hold a candle to a lot of the stars at the next level. Don’t get wrong, I have a decent amount of TPE, but most DB’s in the big leagues have a two or three hundred TPE lead on me. I’ll probably be back in the DSFL running it back with my Buccs, but either way I’m excited to continue my career in the NSFL!

Last question Tom, we know you can’t answer directly, but what are you looking for in your team at the next level in the NSFL?

Well, I’m honestly just looking for a really good locker room. I’ve had a great time in the Myrtle Beach locker room, and that’s been what’s kept me so engrossed in the league for the time being. Winning is a big thing, too, but what fun is it to win when you have no one to do it with? I just really like having great teammates. That camaraderie is very important to me, and I hope to make those same relationships I made in Myrtle Beach at the next level!
