S22 DSFL Cornerback Prospects

In the DSFL, your defensive backfield plays a vital role to your teams success. They are your last line of defense, responsible for stopping big pass plays that can change the game in an instant. Even though the front seven is going to be much more of a factor in the run game, corners are expected to come up and provide an impact, either making the tackle, setting the edge a runner back inside, or sneaking up to the line to drop the ball carrier for a loss. Most teams in the DSFL and NSFL are running Nickel and Dime packages more and more, necessitating more quality defensive backs. S22 has a ton of high-TPE, active corners who are really going to make an impact. Some are saying that up to 4 cornerbacks could be taken in the first round, with a similar amount coming off in the second. As of Friday, February 28, this year’s Cornerback Prospect list has 34 names on the list. We’ll dive into the biggest names and give you the run-down on the best players. Not on here? Check your update page first. Then give us a shout to see if we screwed up!

Tyler Oles, Jr. 133 TPE Zone
By far, the highest TPE earner. Oles, Jr. has been earning TPE for a LONG time. He’s active in the point tasks and has a veteran player behind him. Won’t stay in the DSFL long and is an easy CB1 on any team he goes to. Haven’t seen much from him on the forums, Discord, or Twitter (maybe I’m missing it), but he’s obviously aiming to be the best in his class.

Zamir Kehla 117 TPE Man To Man
Prototypical corner who has been dominant since his first game in college. High-TPE earner. Active on Discord, forums, and Twitter, which is a good sign for the future. Has rubbed some people the wrong with with his excessive talking. Experts are all over the place on this high-risk, high-reward player, but we think he’s going to outperform expectations. Don’t under-estimate him, but don’t worry, he won’t let you.

Thubba Bumper 95 TPE Zone
Super active and comes from an amazing pedigree. Sure to be a top performer at his position, and likely in the NSFL.

Brandon Booker 87 TPE All-Around
Booker is another player who has been earning TPE since joinning from Reddit (noticing a trend here?). Extremely active on the forums, lots of realized ability, but even more potential. Comes from a high school that has already turned out professionals. Switched positions in college, which will be a question mark until he performs in the DSFL. Earning lots of TPE in a variety of mediums, which speaks highly to his continued activity and TPE-earning. Also a welcome addition to any locker room.

Ozamataz Buckshank 83 TPE Zone
Sitting in a big bank of unspent TPE, Ozamataz is quietly on his way as one of the top TPE earners for cornerbacks. Great height and length at 6’3”. Went to school at Stanford and continues their template of high-IQ players. One of the few Mexican-American players in the league, under considerable pressure from his father, his agent, which may impact his performance and negotiations at this level.

Eldrick Avery 74 TPE All-Around
After getting a slow start at LSU, Avery took advantage of an injury and never let go. Good height/length (6’1”). Got a big, initial TPE push, but has been relatively quiet during the lead-up to the draft, which doesn’t speak well to future success. Will need to keep being active to stay in the upper tier of corners.

Alexander Hamilton II 74 TPE Man-To-Man
One of the biggest corners in the draft (6’3”). Active and a great member of the community Has the potential to really be an impact player. Recruited by Rapid Eagle, another active member. Probably underrated at this spot.

Cadillac Harris 73 TPE All-Around
Has been active on the forums and Twitter, sure to continue earning TPE. Made an impact immediately on USC’s defense as a freshmen with a mind-blowing five picks and two touchdowns and figures to do the same wherever he gets drafter. Has been on fire since he joined the league, but has been getting into it with members of the media, which could impact his draft stock.

Chester Sweets 69 (nice) TPE All-Around
Its a Sweets life. Extremely active on the forums, Discord, and especially Twitter. Sitting on a good amount of pending TPE and has been putting out a bunch of media. Highly talented and a good locker room presence. Has always played in warm weather (Jacksonville and San Diego), which may impact him at the next level. Has shown he is willing to learn and work hard. Needs to learn the basics around the league before he can fulfill potential.

Andrew Witten 67 TPE Zone
A new player from the Reddit class. Has gained a good amount of TPE and produced some really quality, in-depth articles, an interesting performance from a rookie. Lots of potential here. Due to his activity, probably underrated here.

JR Maverick 67 TPE All-Around
Good hands (57) and Intelligence (65) that will help him get his hands on the ball. Big initial TPE push, but has been relatively quiet recently. Will he be able to get back into the game? Another hard pick due to the high-TPE but lack of activity. Could easily be one of the better corners if he picks it up.

Ben Stackinpaper 63 TPE Man-To-Man
Stackinpaper is another guy from the Reddit influx. Earned TPE, but hasn’t been as active in the social media. Great hips (70 agility) and speed (80) that will make him a monster if he can continue his work.

Valor Gilmore 61 TPE Man-To-Man
Another southern boy (New Orleans), and one of the sweetest, simplest names in the draft. Great size (6’2”) and length. Will be a solid player. Could jump to the next level with more activity.

Colt Mendoza 59 TPE Man-To-Man
Good initial TPE, needs to keep it up. Activity has fallen off recently. Lots of potential, but the work has to be done.

Xaq Schiaparelli 57 TPE Man-To-Man
Despite the lower TPE, Xaq is almost a shoe-in to get drafted before his current 57 TPE might indicate. He almost assuredly has more TPE than the paultry number shown. He’s been active both in the forums and on Twitter. Likely needs to update his update page. Talks a big game. Can he back it up?

Bayden Brosley 57 TPE Zone
Initial tasks done, but no more TPE done since. Was on the site yesterday, so he’s rated higher than the corners below him.

Matt Krause 57 TPE All-Around
Started off with initial TPE tasks, but has fallen off recently. Will remain to be seen what he does.

Carlos Woods 57 TPE Man-To-Man
Got some initial tasks done, but hasn’t been seen in over a week. Will he continue? The outlook doesn’t look good.

Rickety Cricket
Another 57 TPE earner (initial 50, +2 Activity check, +5 free training), but returned to the site yesterday. Likely not going to be a a major participant, but he may surprise some people.

Ricky Boomhauer 54 TPE Man-To-Man
Shorter than many of the corners in this draft and lower on the TPE scale, Boomhauer is a sleeper pick, especially this low. He’s been creeping on the site. My bet is he jumps back in and becomes a solid player for whatever team is lucky enough to take him. For some reason has not claimed his free weekly training for new players.

If you know of a player about 50 TPE who has an update page and he isn’t listed here, please let us know!

I've just been a bit quiet, you can always find me around and I'm always down to help but I've been more focused on lurking lately. Also won't ever participate in twitter, that's just not my thing

Just a minor correction - I don't predate Reddit, I'm part of the (very big) 2/16 crew. Can see you read people's wiki pages etc. though, so great job on the research!
