We are about to have an issue for the first time. This year, we will have rookies and vets as opposed to everyone being new. This means rookie of the year-type voting.

Question: Is it fair for someone who has already played a full season and been voted to a PRO BOWL to be considered as a rookie? Is it fair to get a full season without having it count toward eventual regression? I feel like a line needs to be drawn somewhere.

I have 0 authority, but I would say as soon as you play a regular season game, that is your rookie season.

It'll likely be addressed, and your concerns are reasonable. However as a Canadian I am constitutionally obliged to point out that "Rookies" who have actually been in the league for a bit happens a lot in hockey, since the definition of a rookie in the NHL is "someone who has not played 25 games last year, or 6 games in the last 2 years at the professional level"

Because of that Ken Dryden was actually playoff MVP the year before his rookie year, and Sergei Makarov won rookie of the year at age 31.

That's kind of my point. There is a line, however arbitrary, to prevent complete unfairness. I was thinking being on a team for more than half a season.

pretty sure all that matters is your draft year. If you are S2 you are a "rookie", even if you've played in the league

I think there should be a games cutoff point. If you played 7+ games in the league. Well, you're not really a rookie anymore and you have a HUGE advantage over the new joins.

You are correct, but that's what I am suggesting be changed.

If this sticks I'm willing to bet some SBA funbucks that Dermot Lavelle, Ardie Savea, or Fox North is the Rookie of the Year next year

I suggested that it the ROTY players should go to the players that made the NSFL their first sim league that he/she joined. That is what I would define as a "rookie." This year, it should ONLY be eligible for S1 players that were a part of the Inaugural NSFL Draft.

After that, we go ahead and follow suit for the next year and everything is status quo.

I know I'm not the only one that started their sim league career here. Lol
