*What I look for in draftees... - Bayley - 04-03-2020 [div align=\\\"center\\\"] ![]() [/div] Good afternoon! I had plans on doing a huge mock draft, but as the new Butchers GM team, I would rather not do a lot of that, so if anyone has leeks, feel free to share them with me! Well, a lot of prospects are probably wonder what GMs look for in draftees. Well, I cannot speak for everyone, so I will talk about my preference. I hope you all enjoy. Leave feedback if you would like. Demeanor The biggest thing I look for is someone who conducts himself appropriately in all settings. This means being respectful to members on the board as well as on discord. I think this is someone who will create a great culture in the locker room. Now, I understand that we are going through a stressful time right now, so there may be times that our temper or stress gets the best of us, and that is okay, we are human. So, we look at the large scheme of things. I look for someone who gets along with everyone and is not at the center of conflict. Those are people who can build a great culture in the locker room for everyone to enjoy. We are all here to have fun, and sometimes with someone of a negative demeanor can really impact someone else's ability to have fun, which is not fair. We want to make sure that everyone is having fun everywhere in this league. This travels back to the locker room as I said. Activity Now, the next thing I look at is your earning. Are you someone who does your PTs and gets things done every week? Have you done an article? Do you do graphics? How are you earning money? This league is obviously based around money. You can do just fine by getting your weekly training in and not necessarily doing equipment. You may be lower in terms of TPE because of that, but the better gain is from getting your weekly done every single week. I would like to think I am a reasonable human, so things come up and we miss things. That is fine, no one will be mad over that one. But, of course, logging in and doing PTs will be crucial to your success. So, of course we look at activity. Bank Account Of course, not your real one, your fake one, of course. I do take a gander at your bank account. There is no doubt that your bank account directly correlates to your activity which was the top thing on my list. I really would love to know how you are going to pay for your training next week to get better. I do not think this is crucial as people have more things to write about and do graphics about when they may get into the NSFL, but I do take a look to see what it looks like to see if you have some money saved to get better from there. Team Need Just because you dropped to the third round or 6th round as a Kicker or a Quarterback, does not mean that you are not valuable. Most GMs will ask if you are looking to switch positions and that is to see the flexibility for you as well as to take you where you are likely valued. Some high activity people may fall into the later rounds because of the fact they are in a position in not of need. Believe me, I get it. In the VHL, I was taken way late because I created as a Goalie. If I was any other position, I would have been higher. The teams are looking to fill needs as well, do not get discouraged, make the other GMs sad they didn't pick you. Do you want to play for us? One of the biggest questions I asked to the prospects was where does Chicago fit on your list and would you play for us? If that answer was no or some sort of no, we want people who will want to be here and be here for a while. We want to get maximum out of every player we draft, so we want people who love us as much as we love them. It has to go both ways. There are so many awesome prospects in this draft, but you have to want to play for us too. What I don't care about I do not care about your stats in the DSFL. That does not matter to me, I will not even be looking at the index. I do not care at all what you did or how many tackles you made or how many (insert advanced stat metric here) you had. I just do not care. I also do not care much about your current build is. You are at like 200 or so TPE, so you have plenty of time to actually fix the build and do a lot of more earning, so I do not care much about what that looks like. I want to see how much you will be active to fix it if it's not great. We are here to help and guide you for the player that you want to build, so let us help! I also value every conversation that we have had together. If you reached out to me, if I reached out to you. I love talking to prospects and people, so feel free to reach out to me, I will surely be reaching out to a lot of you soon! If you have any questions, please let me know! I think it's cool to get the opposite viewpoint amidst all these draftees ranking potential destinations and talking about the draft. I also think this is a brilliant start to a cultural rebranding of Chicago. I think you've got some great ideas and a perfect mindset; it sounds like you want to build the kind of LR that I, at least, would love to be a part of! *What I look for in draftees... - siddhus - 04-03-2020 @`BayleyIsland` my build is pretty bad, I suggest you not to draft me |
