Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - Noppadet - 07-12-2017 ![]() :cigar: :cigar: :cigar: Why the Hawks are Better than Everyone Despite the eye rolls that many of you are likely currently doing, the Hawks, yes the Baltimore Hawks are better than everyone, at least when you consider what the Hawks have been working with, which notably I'm speaking about active players. First of all let's get this out of the way, Stephen Harrison got god damned snubbed when it comes to the pro bowl. Why, you ask? Well lucky for you I'm here to tell you why. Let's start with the Hawk's defensive line who hurt the rest of the front seven and the DBs as well, which to start can be more aptly described as a god damn sieve: ![]() Oh hey our mother fucking pro bowl, better be top 50, leading tackler in the league is thinking of moving to DE which will hurt our linebacker corps because a whole bunch of people can't honor commitments, awesome. Speaking of honoring commitments let's take a look at our update forum to see how many people are active: ![]() :jawdrop: You mean only 9 players are ready for Saturday's update? Now mind you that's not that terrible because hold on, there's potentially 1 more judging on past performance. One of the bigger problems is that our GM hasn't posted in his update thread for nearly a month. Now that's relatively forgivable because he has plans to switch out of the main RB spot, so our other RB, who instead hasn't posted an update in only 22 days, can get more carries. C'mon dudes we all have commitments, I'm married, am raising a 2.5 year old toddler, have a full time job, and run a business on the side, and I can manage. It's like what 20 minutes a day here and there for point tasks, a little time on graphics work/writing an article, it's doable. As some of the leaders of the team, you guys need to step up! I'm a fucking nobody linebacker drafted in the 17th round, and I'm doing it. Shoot man I'm running sim tests to see the best way to build my player because I want to win. If anyone wants to know why we're bottom of the barrel it's largely in part because no one does their updates. Shout out to Delacour, Hendrix, Christmas, Turkleton, Kyubee, to a lesser extent Broadway (I'm sure I missed one or two active people but you guys know if this applies to you or not) because you guys are the only ones who have so far managed to not let your player go under the active season 2 draft picks from a TPE perspective. I'm not even judging any of you guys on performance, my player kind of sucked last year in a lot of categories, but shit at least I'm trying and I'm here trying to do point tasks to make an impact next season. Let's see some effort Hawks come on guys. I'm putting more effort into this article than some of you have your entire time being here. If you can't handle having a league job step down and focus on your dude - I did. It sucked, I hopefully didn't leave the updaters hanging, but hey the player part of it had to come first for me, and I knew I would get burned out if I didn't. Know thyself and all of that fun stuff. Fucking props to the updaters that is one time consuming job, especially if you don't want to fucking leave every update to one person because everyone is acting like a flake, instead of wait for it, keeping to your commitments in a game that relies on it. OK so back to the defensive line. Metas (defensive tackle) is the only guy doing anything. Gilfred Harrison is another inactive, but hey at least his build is good enough to be a useful body. Who are our defensive ends? I don't even know, because they haven't made an impact in anyway. Scratch that Crocker has 15 tackles for loss, but besides that your previously mentioned underachieving linebacker Harrison has more sacks than our DEs do. This is an accurate representation of the large majority of our defensive line (just exclude Metas from this again he's actually making a big impact): ![]() Oh man it's too hard to write an article I'm just gonna lay here at the expense of my teammates. And then perhaps even worse, I'll do nothing about it from any perspective. Top waiver pick with players available that would be helpful to the Hawks? Nah fuck it let it go we don't need players (hint dudes we needed players). It's frankly been a bit of an insult to those of us actually trying, but are in no position to do anything beyond make our actual players better. So I did an article a little bit back looking at total TPE of each team versus wins. The Hawks had... 2,376 TPE. We were 4-5 and had one of the lowest TPE counts in the league even at that point. We also were doing pretty well with only 199 points against. In the last 5 weeks that finally bit us in the ass because we finished the season like 0-5. Oh by the way want another look at the least active team? ![]() What kills me is a ton of people with money aren't even doing their weekly training. It's a post and an edit/another post guys! Man even if you do just that that's 15-20 more TPE per person and that would likely go a long way since stats having like an exponential TPE hit when you hit the 70s. Your primary stats aren't the only useful stats. I'm not even sure if Kyubee is in it at this point, which means season 2 might be even more of a loss. Fucking thank god for Hendrix or it might be worth it to retire and hope for a redraft to the Outlaws or something, but I'm having some faith in his vision and activity so I'm sticking around. I want the Hawks to do well, I've committed a lot to the team for little reward when it comes to even my actual stats, and here I am being roasted about my performance, but I hold strong with the team. For many of my teammates the same does not hold true. Let's go guys do the point tasks at least. You have people working hard for some wins, and we don't even expect nearly the same level of effort. Just effort at all. Why are the Hawks better than everyone? Well my point kind of is, that right now we aren't. I question whether we're better than anyone. Code: 1147 words edit: aside from article - S2 rookies don't let this detract you. Much of this was tongue-in-cheek ![]() Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - Noppadet - 07-12-2017 Note that this is intended to be mostly in good fun guys, I needed a little bit of a vent, but I needed something to write about too for my training. Don't take it too seriously. Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - kckolbe - 07-12-2017 There's some good shit in here, and I agree with a lot of it, though I will add that a lot of the stats are very misleading. It seems a lot of league leaders STARTED with high TPE then became less active. You guys have some good players and a damn fine GM. Good news, not using the waiver picks just means you have less to replace. The picks you make this year will be upgrades, which has to count for a lot. Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - Valtookan - 07-12-2017 Damn, I read the whole thing. As your fellow Linebacker I find that situation really rough. You guys were even 4-0 in the Pre-Season. I'm surprised the activity level died of for you guys. Quote:Fucking thank god for Hendrix or it might be worth it to retire and hope for a redraft to the Outlaws or something Reading that part made me laugh. I definitely wouldn't mind you here though. Wishing you the best of luck bro, but I still don't get where the "Hawks are Better than Everyone" part? Where was this established? Are you trying to say if you guys were active you'd be the Ultimus Champ? Maybe, but it's not like ya'll were balling when the first 4 games of the season came and went. Just curious. Nice write up. Like Brady Stropko! Honestly, I feel as I am one of the only exceptions to that rule and I only lead in Forced Fumbles/Fumbles Recovered: 3/3 in the regular season. Yeah but it kind of screwed us throughout the season, and the kicker is we only have the 4th draft pick so losing didn't even benefit us. We could have at least had a respectable ending to the season if most of our core players would have stayed active, but when some important players on the team don't do much it kind of leaves the rest of the team hanging. Getting blown out by the SaberCats wasn't a respectable ending to the season, and that's not even disrespecting the SaberCats. An even match at the least would have meant something. But yeah the team is looking positive moving forward for sure. I actually have high hopes for season 2. Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - Noble - 07-12-2017 Hawks are just rebuilding, no big worry ![]() Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - kckolbe - 07-12-2017 (07-12-2017, 10:46 AM)Valtookan Wrote:Like Brady Stropko! Actually, Stropko and Rashad are BOTH great indicators of how important an early advantage is. It will make the first half of this season terrifying for the Hawks as well as the expansion teams. I've used them as kind of a benchmark of where I need to end my rookie season in terms of stats. I'll write more on that post-draft. At the risk of being repetitive season 2 is looking really great. This was my season 1 vent ![]() Why the Hawks Are Better than Everyone - kckolbe - 07-12-2017 I expect both the Hawks and Wraiths to do better this year, and the Yetis to regress. |
