From A Rookie's Eyes - Oles - 07-12-2017

Tyler Oles, as a rookie, continues his look into the pre-draft process and continues to share his view on the league leading up to the draft. First, as a rookie without an agent, Oles has talked with teams himself on where he may end up, his aspirations, and what he would want from the team should he join. Every general manager, coach, and anyone else who has contacted him has done so with the utmost respect and understanding for the rookie and for the process at hand. While this has been a difficult time for Oles, he has enjoyed talking with each team, and general manager, on his quest into the league. He has the utmost respect for each and every person in the draft, on each team, and the front office of each team. When he is not talking to the teams he has spent time learning about each team, figuring out who may take him and who has already found their answers at corner. Oles has also looked at each of his competitors in the draft, and at this point has a pretty good idea of where he ranks among his peers. He also wants to make not of Dermot Lavelle, the standout corner who is clearly the number 1 pick in this year’s draft. Oles realizes that Lavelle is the brightest prospect in this draft, and it's clear where his home will be after the draft has happened. As the draft gets closer Oles hopes that a team will take a chance on him, and hopes that any team that has already gotten the chance to talk to him will take the chance to bring Oles in, help him out and help him reach his full potential. Tyler Oles will be looking forward to hearing his name called when the draft comes, and hopes that every person in the draft goes to a team is able to do their best and have a long career, as he hopes for himself. He hopes that his future teammates help him and every new teammate they will get when draft day comes, and hopes that the future is bright for all.

Well I personally HATED getting ignored in the vast community of "Oh shoot I gotta learn this" and "Oh boy, this guys is so popular he'll be taken in the first."

Nah, bruh. This isn't the time to count your self out! I remember my draft day, you know when I was drafted? I was drafted 79th Overall. That's the top of the 14th round. I was kind of like you, I was really excited that I had a team who believe in me, despite my small activity level during the offseason and all of the other choices they could have picked. From that day I promised that I wouldn't let them down and I'd carry the team.

AND THAT'S WHAT I DID! Well, not really...

I don't even thing you know, or care, who I am...

Though I do have my name pasted in some unimportant section of the NSFL Gazzle...........where is that thing....

Anyways, moral of the story, keep doing what you are doing by writing some articles. Put your best foot forwards and talk to GMs (they love that). Make sure to keep updating your update page, ask for any assistance from anyone, and make YOUR PRESENTS KNOW! You are going to be the greatest MAN TO MAN COVERAGE CB! Better than Dermot, AND DON'T LET THEM FORGET IT!

Thanks a lot man, I'll keep that in mind. To me going number 1 overall is a nice accolade to have, but it isn't one for me. I'll keep working and build myself up from the ground floor and make my presence known. I'll keep doing what I've been doing and make people fear the name Oles. Thanks for the time you took to motivate!

No problem dude! Looking forward to seeing you progress!

I absolutely agree. While there are some great CBs already, and a COUPLE more entering the draft, you could be a starter on well over half the teams if you keep up the effort, and find yourself as a top 50 player this year. Your low draft stock only means a team will do that much better for getting you if you kick ass. A prospect like Lavelle, if he is anything less than the #1 guy next year, he is technically a reach.

You don't have to be the best to be the best value.

Yeah, draft stock doesn't really mean much to me since plenty of top picks have been busts and low picks have turned into massive steals in other leagues. Stock is just something pretty meaningless that scouts and all use to assign an arbitrary value.
