* Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-13-2017 Seeing that the draft is only 6 days away, and I need to get all the attention from the GMs that I can, ask me anything and everything about the great game of football! Hook'em! Ready to be Graded- 1,049 words GRADED * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-13-2017 uhhhh, ![]() Yes, you in the back. *muffled voice* "how has the pre-draft process been for you" ah, that's a great question. It's been a fun process so far, having interviews with all the different organizations in this great league has given me such a great insight in how the league works and I'm excited to soon be apart of it. Personally, I can't wait for the draft to see where I end up going and get to work! * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-13-2017 ![]() Ok, guys settle down I will answer all your questions, just settle down! You in the front. *muffled voice* "What can you bring, on and off the field, to the team that decides to draft you?" I believe that I can bring leadership to any organization that I go to, most people only except leadership from the veterans, but I have learned through my time playing football that leadership can come from anyone on the team. Being a captain at UT gave me great experience in leading people through both bad times and good times. I also feel that the glue to the locker room kind of guy, a person who can bring everyone together. * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-13-2017 let's see, uhhhh, yes you. ![]() *muffled voice* "Many mock drafts have you going as undrafted for this upcoming draft, care to comment on those reports?" I have seen those reports, and frankly I would have to disagree with their assessment of my abilities. I feel that I can bring more to a team than what the stats on a piece of paper say, I know that my last year at UT was a little rough when it came to the win-loss column, however if you look at the tape I feel that I performed better than what the score at the end of games indicated. I understand that we have some other great LB prospects in this draft, but I feel that my mind for the game is one of the best in this draft class and that I have a lot of room to grow when it comes to my physical abilities. That combined with what I bring off the field should get me drafted. * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - 4D Chess - 07-13-2017 Is there any teams that have reached out to you? Any players (NFL or NSFL) that you're trying to model your game after? How would you feel about coming off the bench for the first part of your career? Or would you prefer to be a starter? Favorite postgame meal? * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-13-2017 Ah, great questions 4D Chess! Sorry for the lack of room, I think there is a sit in row 3, anyways. Is there any teams that have reached out to you? As of right now I have been contacted by Orange County, Baltimore, and Yellowknife! So far the interviews have been good, and I'm glad to meet some of the guys who keep this league running! Any players (NFL or NSFL) that you're trying to model your game after? The one player that I would really enjoy following in their footsteps would be Luke Kuechly, when people hear his name they usually think of one of the best defensive minds in the game. He can go against any Qb can be prepared for any audible that they throw at him. He also has a extreme love for the game and the ability to lead his teammates to give more than what they thought could give, even at their lowest point. Man, when you think of a football player Luke Kuechly is a guy that comes to mind. How would you feel about coming off the bench for the first part of your career? Or would you prefer to be a starter? FLEXIBILITY. You can't be a successfully player if you aren't able to adapt to the situations you are placed in, First, second, special teams, waterboy, where ever you put me excite me to give 100%. Favorite postgame meal? Coming from Texas, I have to say nothing is better than going to Whataburger after a game with your teammates and enjoying a Honey BBQ Chicken strip Sandwich. * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-13-2017 Man, y'all are giving me some great Question today! Who's next? ......... *muffled voice*"How do you feel about the disrespect given to Big 12 defenses?" Oh, who ever asked that question just gave me a fastball! Dang, did not see that coming. Well, to answer the question, it is true that in that the Big 12 is more know for the flashy offensives rather than tough Defensive play like other conferences. However, Texas has been severally under rated to the amount of defensive talent they have produced in recent years. Players like Jordan Hicks, Earl Thomas, Lamarr Houston, Kenny Vaccaro to name a few have been able to make huge impacts on their respected teams and I look forward to joining them. * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Silver Fox - 07-14-2017 What's your ideal linebacker position? Would you rather play in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme? What do you think of the Philadelphia Liberty? As you're from Texas, how strong are your feelings on brisket? * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Den_Tex_Mix2 - 07-14-2017 What's your ideal linebacker position? Would you rather play in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme? Ideally I would be a ILB playing either the Mike or Will positions as that fits my skill set more than playing a more pass rushing roll as a OLB or a rolled down safety type as a OLB. I have played in both a 4-3 and a 3-4 scheme, but I prefer 3-4 as its a great way to allow our pass rushers more freedom on how they get to the Qb and its more suited to stop the passing game. What do you think of the Philadelphia Liberty? Talk about being able to start off fresh, since this would be the first season for the Liberty, I bet they are excited that they can pretty much set the foundation for their success however they want to do it. They have no presser to follow and traditions or preconceived notions, they can do things that best fit them. They will also be playing in the great city of Philadelphia, the birth place of our great nation, that has some of the most passionate fans out there. Honestly they seem to a great addition to the league and I can't wait to see what they can do. As you're from Texas, how strong are your feelings on brisket? Oh, there is nothing better than going out with friends and sharing a couple of pounds of some nice moist brisket, potatoe salad, ribs, and sausages. In central Texas there are so many places where you can get great brisket, you can't go wrong. * Luke Washington, LB Prospect S2 draft - Noppadet - 07-14-2017 Can you explain to use in detail what your average day is like as a draftee? What are some of your hobbies outside of the game? What's going on in your personal life? Is there a Mrs. Washington? Describe a (real) professional football player you're modeling your player after. |
