*First round reaction - RotticusScott - 04-19-2020 [div align=\\\"center\\\"] Colt Mendoza, Corner Back, London What more can be said about this guy that hasn’t been said? This is the 2nd year in my 2 years here that the 1st overall pick has been an obvious one. Steg is changing the league already with his gameplay articles, and honestly I’d expect him to be a GM of the Copperheads before his career is over. Magnus Rikiya, Defensive Tackle, Norfolk Another obvious one here. The Secondline love Norfolk prospects, and Rikiya was a great one this year. I’ve heard from sources that he’s a great locker room guy, and New Orleans has great locker room players in heaps. Defensive tackles are always in demand, and Rikiya is the first one off the board for a reason. This makes two straight drafts that a DT goes in the top two. Matt Cross, Safety, Norfolk Another great pick here, this time for Philly. Cross has a monster 220 TPE before the pre-season, and will look to be a top earner in a key position. This also makes two straight Seawolves drafted, both obviously in the top three. Although Norfolk “struggled” this season losing in the playoffs, it seems they can churn out top round talent like it’s nothing. Brandon Booker, Corner Back, Myrtle Beach This might be my favorite pick of the draft, here. I spent a season with Booker on the other side of the field with me. He’s a top tier personality, along with a top tier TPE count. Philly is looking to have a dominant secondary here in the coming years if these last two picks can earn they way they did this season. Booker has winning ways in his blood after the Ultimus win in Myrtle Beach, and Philly hopes he can carry that into their locker room. Chester Sweets, Corner Back, Kansas City Although I’m not going to say this pick is a reach, I don’t like it as much as some of the other ones in this round. Sweets is a great guy and has a decent TPE count, but there were higher TPE options ahead of Sweets available at 5. This may all be wrong, though, and Sweets could end up the best pick of the draft. At the end of the day, what do I know, I lost 70 TPE in 45 minutes this week. Stanislaw Koniecpolski, Line Backer, Dallas I haven’t heard much of Stanislaw this season, but I see now I must’ve been blind. Stanislaw is at 246 TPE, and had a nearly 90 TPE during the course of this season. No idea how he managed that, but good on him. I like this pick, and his ability to quickly earn is a huge plus for the future. This makes 2 Dallas Birddogs taken in the first round, a great job by a brand new expansion team. Phat Boi, Defensive Tackle, Kansas City Another great pick in the first round here. Notorious defensive tackle Phat Boi goes to the first expansion team to pick, Honolulu. While a Quarter back may be more important for a brand new team, a max earning defensive tackle is one of the most beautiful sights in the NSFL. It’s even better when you’re getting the top earner of the class at the 7th pick, a robbery here for the Hahalua. Mo “Mamba” Magic, Defensive Tackle, Minnesota Not to be biased here, but this is my pick of the round. Mamba has been insanely active in the rookie section of Colorado’s locker room pre-draft. He’s ready to be a leader for a veteran maiden team, and that’s something you love to see in a draftee. He will hope to fill the slot that John Smirh had before him, a big task, but I think he’s up to the challenge. Derred De Ville, Line Backer, London Another great pick! I update the London Royals, and as soon as I saw how beautifully organized De Ville’s update sheet was, I knew hew was special. I know many teams had their eyes on him during the draft, and many teams were disappointed he didn’t end up on their roster. Him and Mendoza are future leaders in this league, and it’s a steal for Baltimore to get him at 9th. Jeffrey Phillips, Tight End, Dallas This draft is just filled with talent, and Phillips fits that bill here for Orange County. He’s already great friends with many members in the locker room, and to top that he’s a max earner at a great position. When people ask “How does Orange County keep winning?”, picks like these are the answer. Johnny Hellzapoppin, Safety, Myrtle Beach Another beach boy off the board early, making the 2nd straight year two+ Myrtle Beach players are drafted in the first round. Hellzapoppin already has league jobs on his resume, along with max earning this season. More of that winning spirit going into another NSFL locker room, Hellzapoppin will look to finally bring Yellowknife to glory in these next couple seasons. Andrew Witten, Corner Back, Tijuana Another pick I wasn’t expecting here, Andrew Witten going to the Second Line. This may be another personality pick, like Dorfus Jimbo Jr. last season, which makes sense due to Witten’s TPE count. He’s in that great earning range, not the truly elite earners in his class. At the end of the day, though, having a great person is more important than a great TPE count. That may be the case here with Witten and the Second Line.[/div] 917 words
