S22 DSFL 3 Round Mock Draft

Disclaimer: This mock has been put together based solely on my own research of team needs and player/position analysis, and while my aim is to be accurate, it’s likely not because drafts always seem to be so unpredictable, especially for the DSFL. But it's fun isn’t it. If I have left you off this list, please don’t be offended, I’m sure you’re all wonderful and I’ve overlooked something special about you since I’ve not scouted a single person and what can I say… I’m not perfect. So, keep that in mind, and with that said, lets kick it off.

Team Analysis:

DAL
Dallas is only 1 years old, and while they had an exceptional draft for the S21 season, that also means many have been nabbed by the GMs in the big league and won’t be returning them. There are many holes that need filling on this team. They do however get a few gems back such as first overall pick CB Colt Mendoza, QB Monterey Jack, RB Kichwa Jones and WR Mike Lee. All of which are going into the season at cap TPE. Not too bad for the offensive side of things, but defence needs a lot of attention. Expect Dallas to focus entirely on defence, in every area early in the draft.

Needs: DT, LB, DE, S

LON
London are the other baby team if you will, and much like the Birddogs, this team has been gutted by the NSFL. These teams just too good at producing quality players obviously. Again, like Dallas, this team’s offence looks actually pretty solid since they get to keep the other Jack bro in QB Colby Jack and what look to be two capped out WRs in Kaepercolin and Cash Jr. Not to mention a 200+ TE in Donatello Arrabiata. This teams passing attack is going to be nasty. What will be on the GMs mind for this team is all defence in all areas. The only nice active they get to keep is DE Simeon Works. He’s gonna need all the help he can get. Especially with practically 0 secondary.

Needs: CB, LB, DT, S

MIN
Minnesota is one of the teams that doesn’t look so bad all round. They have quality players in various positions. Most notably is the capped players of DE Mario von Pebbles, RB, Jamar Lackson and S Buck Thornton. Currently looking fairly mediocre in the WR department but not too much of a concern but still something they should look to address. They lost QB Zack Vega and so QB Sim Snowbow earns the start this season. His TPE isn’t quite where you’d like to see it, but the DSFL is a run heavy league and Jamar Lackson is capped and ready to break out huge. For this reason and the fact Snowbow is a spectacularly active and friendly person is why they give him the nod for QB1.
Needs: DT, CB, WR, LB

TIJ
Tijuana is a strange one currently. They have an abundance of talent but only in a few positions one of which is QB. They have 2 capped QBs in Ben Slothlisberger and Jim Waters. Another season of the QB battle looks to be in the books here. This team lead the league in passing attempts last season by some margin and with the quality they’ve got at QB I expect that to continue but they did lose star WR Thomas Passmann so they’ll look to replace him as the other options I’m pretty certain are inactive. The other position they excel in is Safety. Currently there are three 200+ Safeties on the squad. I would expect them to move one to play corner. It is the Dline where Tijuana are hurting badly. There is no talent on this team in the Dline at all. That is where I expect them to begin their draft.

Needs: DT, DE, WR, CB

POR
Portland Pythons look to be one of, if not the most complete team headed into the S22 season. Dline is already stacked and also have some extremely solid Olinemen too. Capped Raheem Okusi (WROTY) will be spending another season in Portland and throwing to him once again is capped QB George O’Donnell. Okusi could use some more help though. Where the team is lacking is in it’s secondary and Linebacker positions, however capped Safety Shawk Dawkins is a nice starting point. Like most others I expect a focus on defence early and then look to grab some offensive weapons for the passing and ground game right after.

Needs: CB, LB, S, WR, RB

NOR
At first glance the Norfolk actually do look like best folk, but realistically theres a lot to be addressed here. Quite a bit of wasted talent as there are 3 very serviceable LB’s on the team and similar to the situation in Tijuana, there are 2 strong QBs available to plug in at QB1 for this team. QB Luke Skywalker will get the nod though as he is already capped. They retain capped TE Reynauld Haugland which they’ll be thrilled with as he lead the league in TD receptions just last season. This is a team with a lot of need at the WR position though as only WR Kevin Koh is retained and Skywalker will want some more targets. Along with this, star RB Flash Panda is gone leaving only Tequila Sunrise so perhaps some help is needed there also. I wont even get into the DL too. It’s bad.

Needs: DT, S, WR, DE, RB

KCC
Kansas City boasted one of the top offences and the top defence just last season but have been absolutely ransacked from the NSFL Draft. All their Defensive line is gone, along with a huge slice of its secondary. The most notable loss however is S21 MVP QB Chika Fujiwara. As many know, the emergence of the Honolulu Hahalua team saw the departure of Baltimore Hawks QBOTY Corvo Havran. This left them no choice but to call up their QB of the future in Fujiwara a seaso or two before expected. Now the Coyotes will need a strong replacement if they want to remain the Yeet Squad once more. Notable send downs are TE Tree Gelbman and WR Eddie Jeeta who are both capped entering the new season. RB Kevin Fakon is also remaining with the team and will look to improve his TPE throughout the season and the team has every bit of confidence in him. The areas to address are first and foremost the QB position but close behind is the defence as a whole. Especially the Dline. There is nothing there really.

Needs: QB, DE, DT, CB, LB

BBB
This goddamn team. Everyone gonna be so angry to see them make the Ultimini AGAIN! But it’s happening. So, this team retained so much talent its just absurd. 7 players will be capped in TPE entering the season. SEVEN! And many more are right behind them. The one silver-lining is RB Dax Frost is moving up to the NSFL so theres a bit of a whole there. The secondary is a place I see the Bucs focusing on first. They have little talent there but everywhere else look just as solid as it can be quite honestly.

Needs: CB, S, RB, DT

And now for the mock.

Round 1

1. DAL DT, Bane Ka’ana’ana – 143 TPE

The first overall pick I believe to be pretty easy. Every team besides Portland is looking for DT and not only is he the best available, he’s also a vet of the league who’s last player reached a staggering 1266 TPE and is also the GM of the new Honolulu Hahalua. This brings a ton of security to the pick and he’ll be an extremely welcome addition to the good boys.

2. LON LB, Heinrich Kackpoo – 178 TPE

Another super solid selection at 2 overall. London need so much help on defence and they will be having withdrawal symptoms from losing LBOTY and DPOTY Derred de Ville. Heinrich Kackpoo boast the most TPE in the draft in a huge position of need. He had a nice ride with the Myrtle Beach Bucs and won an Ultimini but he’s just too good to fall to 8th so London snatch him up right here.

3. NOR via MIN S, Greedy Sly – 157 TPE

If you don’t know this dude yet, you will! He has some of the best podcast content out there already and on top of making mega bank and being the second highest TPE player in the draft, he’s also such a great guy in general and right up Norfolks street. He spent a bit of time in Tijuana and made some friends and they’ll be sad to not be able to bring him back but what can you do.

4. TIJ DE, CJ Riley – 138 TPE

The second recreate taken is DE CJ Riley. Major position of need and he’s also the GM of the Baltimore Hawks. New Gen peeps may be a little sad to see recreates take up the early picks but that’s just the way of the DSFL. Tijuana were ridiculously desperate to add some defensive linemen and beyond DT Bane Ke’ana’ana, you not gonna find a better one here than CJ Riley.

5. POR LB, Tyrone Woods – 152 TPE

Pythons grab the second LB off the board in Tyrone Woods. Woods has a very nice TPE count already and the drop off in the position is pretty large. Pythons luckily have their Dline all ready to go and so they take the next best LB earner in the draft and are super glad to bolster that LB core and make Woods their main man at the position.

6. MIN via NOR OL, Kevin Malone – 123 TPE

FAIR RUBS! I’m all-in in the fair rub club and Minnesota should be too. RB Jamar Lackson will be the focal point in the offence and why not improve on that by getting a guy that can open up them lanes. Minnesota’s defence isn’t terrible so they can afford to go offence here. History in the making right here. Not only is an OL going in round 1, but he’s actually the 1st offensive player taken. Good lord.

7. KCC DE, Son Goku – TPE 155

The Coyotes are fully ready to take their QB of the future right here, but by the grace of the football gods, Son Goku falls to 7th. KC’s DLine is in shambles since the NSFL draft and you just can’t pass up on talent here. The third highest TPE earner in the draft in a position that is very slim and that Kansas City needs desperately falls right into their lap.

8. BBB CB, Ray-Ray Jackson – 125 TPE

The Bucs are having a jolly old time in this draft as their team already looks like a league winner. With their first pick they bring in their CB1 in Ray-Ray Jackson. Jackson is the top CB prospect in the draft in terms of TPE and the CB class this season actually looks very slim. Why not grab your guy right here.

Round 2

9. DAL S, Bob Bob – 128 TPE

To open the second round, the Birddogs grab their second recreate player. Bob Bob’s previous life was one of the QB position in Dan Wright who had a great career and made it to 1076 TPE. A League vet and excellent member on the graphics team also. Dallas get 2 extremely solid picks right off the bat.

TRADE!
KCC receive LON RD 2
LON receive KCC RD 2 and RD 5

London are in crisis with very few players and agree to trade down for extra picks. KC are desperate to get their QB and slide into panic mode to grab the pick in front of Minnesota, and they get it done.

10. KCC QB, Reginald Covington III – TPE 108

Coyoted just have to have to get their QB. They luck out and manage to grab him early in the second. Reginald Covington is a recreate of a past CB who peaked at 1023 TPE. He’s the most reliable and safe option at QB this draft and he’ll be able to keep the Yeet Squad up and running.

11. MIN DT, Tyler Montain – 138 TPE

Minnesota currently only have S19 DT Tormund Bjornsson who is at 120 TPE and inactive currently. They improve the position by adding the second highest TPE DT in the draft. Montain is also active in the discord and has a decent bank account already. Great selection by the ducks.

12. TIJ DE, Water Chestnut III – 89 TPE

While the TPE as of now is quite low of a second rounder, he’s also the GM of the San Jose Sabercats in the NSFL and so they have every bit of confidence that he’ll rise in TPE numbers and become a valuable asset to the team both on and off the field. The Luchas go back to back DE’s because that’s how much they needed them.

13. POR CB, Mikel van Perkins – 118 TPE

Last season the Portland Pythons grabbed a corner with their first 3 picks. They became one of the leagues best secondaries, however now 2 of the 3 have moved on to the NSFL and the one who remains has been inactive since he was selected. CB is now a position of need for the Pythons and Perkins is by far the best remaining and the drop after him is concerning for other teams.

14. NOR WR, Luca Scabbia – TPE 111

The first WR comes off the board and its not the highest earner as it stands. However, recreates are always sought after in the early rounds and Scabbia is a big time recreate. Their past life was a QB that peaked at 1213 TPE. Recreates also don’t get the 12 TPE from the Rookie PT so if they were able to, this player would be right up there with the best of this class.

15. LON S, Adelie de Pengu – 114 TPE

Royals loving their trade with KC even more now, after landing the Safety recreate of the GM of New Orleans Second line. A massive steal towards the end of round 2 and the London Royals defence is shaping up very nicely so far.

16. BBB S, DB Jadakiss – 132 TPE

Bucs continue to add to their secondary to improve their weakest position on the team. Jadakiss is actually the second highest in TPE at the Safety position in this draft and the drop off for the rest of draft is considerable making this the perfect time to select him.

Round 3

17. DAL LB, Eric Richards – 103 TPE

The Birddogs have zero LB talent on the team and Richards is the absolute best of what’s left. He has been insanely active in discord and has already been steadily building up his bank account to eventually get that sweet sweet equipment. I would put money on this guy becoming a max earner and will be a great foundation at the LB position for the birddogs.

18. LON DT, Braxton Sinclair – 101 TPE

The talent at DT is dwindling fast but Sinclair represents the third highest TPE at the position and London have no one at DT currently. They need a day one impact player and Sinclair is by far their best bet right here.

19. MIN WR, Raphael d’Alcott – 126 TPE

Finally, the second WR comes off the board. Minnesota rejoice after getting this level of talent in the 3rd round. Any other season and a player of this calibre would be taken much earlier, but WR isn’t a huge need for most teams so they fall a little this season. Minnesota is a team that needs big help at wideout however with the only active being Daymond Brooks currently. Raphael will be a strong earner and will make a strong case early on in the season to become the teams WR1 if Brooks falls behind in his earning.

20. TIJ WR, Tychondrius Hood – 116 TPE

Tijuana see Minnesota grab their WR and then immediately they grab theirs. Tijuana have 2 capped QBs with only 2 inactives with mediocre TPE to throw to. They need their next stud WR and Hood is the guy. This guy has been crazy active and putting out quality media to grow his bank straight away. There’s really nothing more you could want from a new player, and much like Raphael d’Alcott, in other circumstances, Hood would be selected much earlier and Tijuana are delighted.

21. POR WR, Videl-San – 119 TPE

Oh the run on receivers is strong now. Videl is a recreate and vet of the league whose past player was RB Ryan Leaf Jr who gained a staggering 1220 TPE. There has been some drama related to him in the past however and certain GMs are slightly cautious of him as his persona back then was for lack of better wording, ‘annoying’ to them. But you just cannot deny this guys production and activity and Portland will be delighted to get their WR2 for the season in a guy they can trust 100% to earn. Home run selection.

22. MIN via NOR LB, Hingle McCringleberry – 115 TPE

Can I just say what an incredible name! 10/10! McCringleberry at this point is easily the best available defensive player remaining on the board as most are entering the sub 100 TPE range. A strong earner in a position of need who can quickly become the main LB on the team.

23. KCC DT, Joe Exotic – 100 TPE

With the Coyotes only able to grab one defensive lineman so far, they grab the last 100 TPE guy on the board and its only the one and only Joe Exotic. To be honest, this a dangerous pick. The KC locker room already has enough trouble with wild coyotes roaming around, and not Joe gonna be bringing in his jungle cats no doubt. I’m fearing for my life right now.

24. BBB RB, Carl Wheezer – 131 TPE

Possibly the steal of the draft goes to Myrtle Beach. First RB taken is at the end of the third and not only is he a top TPE prospect but is also another recreate whose past player was a S who peaked at 1109 TPE. Does a pick get anymore impressive that this one? Lucky bastards.

That is my mock draft. I know a few of you were waiting patiently for this so I appreciate that. I hope it was a fun read for you and if you think I made any mistakes or bad takes, don’t be afraid to let me know in the comments. Also just want to reiterate that if you were not on the list, don’t feel bad. This is only one guys thoughts and it’s likely scary inaccurate. Thanks

In all seriousness, you are far too kind Quirky. A ton of great prospects in this draft, and some big future earners out here. If I had to nitpick, you're sleeping on my guy Tyler Montain. Dude's a beast, and is first round all day. Just slide him in where you got me and it's perfect Wink

Glad you enjoy the content, I'll keep it coming!
