*The NSFL Top 50 (Preseason S22) - adam2552 - 04-20-2020
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]The NSFL Top 50[/div]
This is the NSFL Top 50 for S22 as voted by the players. The votes have been tallied and assigned points in the following manner, if someone was voted as the 1st player they received 30 points, 2nd 29 points, 3rd 28 points, so on and so forth until 30th 1point. Without further adieu, here are players 50 to 41:- 50. Jammerson Irving - TE -
- @contacts
S21 Stats: 83 receptions, 1281 yards, 3 touchdowns; 5 carries, 33 yards
Jammerson led the NSFL in receptions and receiving yards in S21. Jammerson’s 1281 yards were 144 more than the next best receivers. Jammerson put up great numbers last season, however it appears as though voters may have considered him to be more of a product of his usage than overall talent. Or perhaps voters value finding the endzone more than simply compiling yards and catches. Either way, you would expect the league’s top pass catcher to end up higher than 50th on the list.
- 49. Action Jackson - WR -
- @KillaScrilla
S21 Stats: 68 receptions, 1137 yards, 3 touchdowns; 59 returns, 832 return yards
Jackson finished the S21 season second in receiving yards to Jammerson Irving (#50). Jackson led all wide receivers with his 68 receptions. However, it appears as though voters had same thoughts about his inability to score TDs.
- 48. Thorian Skarsgard - DT -
- @MrStennett
S21 Stats: 47 tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 FF, 1 FR, 8 sacks
Skarsgard finished S21 second in tackles amongst defensive linemen and no defensive lineman forced more fumbles than him. Skarsgard’s 8 sacks puts him top 5 amongst the other defensive linemen in the league.
- 47. Mervin Leonard - CB -
- @hihihi_62
S21 Stats: 61 tackles, 1 FF, 1 FR, 9 PDs
Leonard made up one quarter of one of the best pass defenses in the NSFL. He doesn’t stand out in the stat sheet in any particular category, but is solid all around. Despite having 0 interceptions in S21, voters felt like Leonard is a key reason in Yellowknife’s successes against the pass.
- 46. Apollo Reed - RB -
- @NylarthePhoenix
S21 Stats: 210 carries, 1007 yards, 4 TDS; 57 receptions, 635 yards, 5 TDs
Reed broke the 1000 yard rushing mark in S21 and finished 6th in the league in rushing yards. Where Reed really stood apart from his peers though was in his role as a pass catcher. He added another 635 yards in the passing game, which was second only to Ryan Leaf Jr among running backs.
- 45. Sean O’Leary - WR -
- @Blueline
S21 Stats: 64 receptions, 733 yards, 14 touchdowns
O’Leary was the go to redzone for the Butchers in S21. O’Leary finished the season tied for lead league in receiving touchdowns. He ended up catching over half of all the touchdown passes thrown by Butchers QB Rose Jenkins. O’Leary struggled to pick up yards after catch though, and finished with the lowest YpC amongst WRs that had at least 40 catches.
- 44. Giannis Kroustis - DT -
- @`AirCrou`
S21 Stats: 52 tackles, 3 TFL, 10 sacks
Kroustis led all defensive lineman in tackles with 52. His 10 sacks also tied the lead league amongst defensive lineman. These numbers illustrate that Kroustis did an excellent job both stuffing the run and disrupting the pass game for the Wraiths.
- 43. Rayne Gordon - WR -
- @RainDelay
S21 Stats: 56 receptions, 1042 yards, 6 TDs
Gordon is the first member of our list to change teams this offseason, as he will be lining up for the expansion Sarasota Sailfish in S22. Gordon was one of just nine pass catchers to break the 1000 yard mark this season. Gordon was able to accomplish this due to his explosiveness with the ball in his hands, illustrated by his 18.6 YpC (3rd amongst WRs with at least 40 catches). Despite his success on the field, Gordon is better known for his reputation off the field.
- 42. Kyle Idlewyld - DE -
- @Kyle
S21 Stats: 47 Tackles, 15 TFL, 8 Sacks
Idlewyld was in the backfield more than any other defensive player this season. Idlewylds 15 TFLs put him second in the league and his 8 sacks is a solid compliment. Idlewyld had 23 total tackles that were behind the line of scrimmage, 2 more than the next best league wide.
- 41. HeHateMe PickSix - CB -
- @Vorshayla
S21 Stats: 28 Tackles, 1 INT, 16 PDs
PickSix’s name wasn’t realized this season as he only was able to grab 1 INT and didn’t find the endzone with his return. Despite that, PickSix still had a strong rookie campaign, leading all rookies in passes defended. PickSix has already made a name for himself, but will look to improve that with a stellar sophomore campaign.
There you have it, the first iteration of our NSFL Top 50. Congratulations to the players that were named to the NSFL Top 50 by their peers. Stay tuned for players 40-31 that will be released on April 22.

Damn, cracking Top 50 as soon as I swap to DT. It would be interesting if we somehow saw the points breakdown, or the total points each of the top 50 had, just to see how universal the mandate of the masses was. Or was not...

Yeah I know man, but like, from someone who’s barely on the site I just found it curious...

User aspects were explicitly considered in voting. Seeing user comments in the breakdowns is gonna be a norm.
But for a real valid complaint....DLOTY handled by the DSFL GMOTY....42nd? C'mon voters. Where at here?

I doubt anyone would have automatically viewed it as inherently negative til you made a big deal claiming it was. The same exact phrasing could literally be said about 30 other people on the site, myself included. You took a 2 and made an 8 out of it.
