I walked down the pavement towards school. The scent of the morning fills the air as cars pass by on there way to work. All of a sudden I hear a “WAIT!” Behind me. It’s my friend Sayori (you know where this is going). I feel tempted to run off, but decide to just wait for her to catch up.
“Sorry! I overslept!!”
“Don’t you always?”
“Ehehehe,” Sayori giggles as she walks at a steady pace with me.
“What club are you going to pick?” She asks.
“I don’t think I’ll join a club.” I respond hopeful that school will magically appear closer to my location.
“But you promised!”
“I did?”
Ugh. I probably dismissively answered yes during one of her blabbing sessions.
Later after school she tells me to check out the literature club. I say no, when she admits she promised a new member. They made cupcakes apparently so thats a chance I’ll take.
I walk in and am greeted by 3 wonderful girls. Theres Monika, the president I get a bad vibe from her. Natsuki, who seems really cute! And Yuri, who seems closed off and in her own void. The festival is coming and they need more members to help prepare. I reluctantly agree to stay.
I walk to school, and Sayori is the one waiting for me. She seems really happy today! Which seems like a good thing. School drags by and I go to the next meeting. We have to write poems tonight. Great, I haven’t raised a pen intentionally since elementary. I wonder what I’ll write.
A blue summers day, full of happiness and joy.
Unbeknownst to me, there is a never ending struggle
I run towards it, hoping to help
But my good intentions are only Making it worse.
What can I do? Only sit and watch
As this world grows more and more
corrupt
I show my poem to Monika first, maybe she’ll have pointers.
“Great job MC! Amazing for your first time!” Her positive feedback makes my smile to myself.
I then show it to Natsuki, and she has some... choice words for it
“You call this poetry?”
Yuri seems to really, really like it.
“This is amazing! Where did you learn to write like this?”
And Sayori is her supportive self...
The festival is now days away and I have to pick someone to work with for the festival... I wonder who I’ll pick...
