*Michael Magic's 1st GM Presser - thevoicelesscreator - 06-12-2020 Michael let out a sigh as Mo re-adjusted his bow tie and pocket square. He checked to see that his Grey Ducks lapel pin was on proper. There was no need to give the media any controversy to work with - not today. "Relax little bro. You got this. The media already love you," Mo said, rubbing Michael's shoulders reassuringly. "Easy enough for you to say man. You tackle monsters for a living and just won a ring. I doubt anything could scare you right now." "That's fair. But if those media folk pick on my little bro, I'll just tackle them." Michael chuckled as he imagined a fully geared Mo running over media personnel. "I'd rather avoid that mess tonight, but thank you." Mo shrugged and smiled. "Seriously Michael, this is your time. Get out there and kill it." The new Grey Duck Co-GM smiled at his his brother and nodded. With a confident stride, he walked into the Minnesota press room. A wave of flashes and camera clicks greeted him, and he grinned for a few shots before heading towards the podium. A few more clicks and flashes followed before he the room fell into anticipation. "Thank you all for coming here today. I know this introduction is a little late, but I figure with the season getting ready to kick into gear, what time is better than now? In case you missed it, my name is Michael Magic, and I am the new Co-GM of the Minnesota Grey Ducks. Let's get this started!" I was working with Mo on sponsorship work when I got the call to interview for the position. I've was pretty familiar with the Grey Ducks management from Mo's time in Minnesota but it wasn't something I thought as a close relationship. When they offered me the position, I was stunned. Is it too cliche to say 'win'? This is a winning culture with all the right pieces to it. We just need some 'Umpf' and we'll get there. I want to win it all and more Quote: Do you think you have the potential to lead Minn To a championship Game? I don't think this team needs me to lead themselves to a Championship game, but I'm very okay with tagging along for the ride! Quote: 3. Who was your favorite draft pick this year? Favourite this year would have to be Woodrow Brooks. First trade under my belt, and we got a guy who the organization highly values. We think he can be the key to our defense. His presence in the locker room, and his energy is electric. We love him here in Minnesota Quote: 4. Will you use this position to boost your brothers team the Yeti? I am still Mo's agent, but unless I am missing something, Minnesota has no power to influence anything involving my brother and the Yeti. Quote: 5. Strawberry or Grape Jelly? Finally, a real question! Fresh Strawberries for life - might even have some strawberry milk! Quote:Which predatory bird is least intimidating, and why is it not the duck? Least intimidating? Well that has to be the birddog! Is it a bird? Is it a dog? Does it fly? Does it run? Do I give it seeds, or do I give it treats? See, much less intimidating that the high flying duck! Quote:What have you learned from others around the Minnesota front office about managing a team at this level? What do you bring to the table that's all your own? I learn something new every day from the amazing management team in Minnesota. Primary with the behind the scenes work. I never realized there was so much to do! However, I think I bring a very approachable style of management - both for players and for staff. My players and staff know they can come to me with any concern they have. On top of that, I really do believe that CULTURE is key to winning championships. I had that chance to witness the power of this when Mo won the Ultimus last season. I firmly believe that I can build something very similar in Minnesota, and maintain it for a long time to come. Quote: 3. What was the first 'big move' that happened in Min that was your idea I'm going to cop out here. Everything that is done in Minnesota is done by committee. I have an excellent room of advisors and an excellent partner to help me come to a consensus. The first big move that happened under me was the trade for Woodrow Brooks. It was a team consensus, but I did pull the trigger there. Quote: 4. What are your expectations coming into this season to make you feel as though you succeeded in your job? That's a really good question. I suppose baseline expectation is playoffs. But that should be for every year. This team has the quality to go all the way. I want to help them do it. But I feel like it's naive to get trapped in that though. Goal is playoffs, and from there, anything can happen. Quote: 5. What is the best quality you have seen in Rampage that you enjoy being his Go-GM? My partner is a genius. He's been in the business and around it all his life. He knows what is and isn't a good deal, and he's not afraid to say it. I'm more of the good cop type of personality. I love talking to people, and cutting deals. But when that doesn't work, I know I can trust my partner to come in and put the squeeze on. Quote: 6. What qualities in you do you think got you the spot as Co-GM? As much as I hate tooting my own horn, I think it was my people skills that really got me the job. My ability to communicate and connect with players, as well as my knowledge of the game and insight that I've had with Mo. As well as my shrewd negotiation skills. [!--QuoteBegin-Garnuk date=1592069940]In your biggest move as a gm you traded for an absolute stud in WoodrowBrooks. What went into that decision?[/quote] The move to acquire Woodrow was really a team decision. And by that I mean that the entire team was in agreement that we had to get him. From there, it was really only the financials that got in the way. Luckily for us, London was very understanding and considerate of the situation. They cut us a very good deal, and allowed us to get our man **Ready for Grading** *Michael Magic's 1st GM Presser - Ismael8907 - 06-12-2020 How Did you feel when you officially got the Job?
