Hello, friends! It’s me, Baby Yoda. I know I haven’t written to you in a while, but I’ve been super busy working out with the team. However, I still wanted to take some time to talk about the season so far. I was planning to write something at the end of the season, but I forgot that this season we have 16 games instead of only 13. However, I was so excited at the idea that I decided to write it anyway. I’m going to look back at each game, how I did on the field, and tell you if we won or lost.

So far, we are 7-6 this season, which is good. We’re 3rd place in our conference and only 1 win away from the #1 or #2 spot, which makes me very proud of everyone on the team. I know the Otters and Second Line are great, too, so it’s exciting to be doing well enough to get compared to them.

Week 1: 24-33 Loss vs Orange County (home)
12 attempts for 58 rushing yards (4.8 YPC), 1 rushing Touchdown
3 receptions for 9 receiving yards, 0 receiving Touchdown
3 Pancakes

This was a really tough game to start out the season. We tried to keep up with the Otters, but they scored first and managed to stay ahead of us the whole game. I thought we played really good overall, but they’re a really good team and sometimes you can do a good job on the field and still lose. I only got to run the ball 12 times, but I managed to keep my average “YPC” up and even got a touchdown. Not a bad start for me, I guess, but I still wish we could have won this game. It would have meant a lot to the fans at home since it was the start of the season.

Week 2: 24-13 Win @ San Jose
15 attempts for 59 rushing yards (3.9 YPC)
4 receptions for 9 receiving yards

Even though we had to travel to San Jose, we were really disappointed over our loss the week before and played really hard, winning by 2 scores. I didn’t get many more rushes and my YPC was under 4.0, which is where coach says it should be at. But I think I came pretty close, so I should get credit for trying. I didn’t do a whole lot this game, but we did good overall and I was glad to see my teammates have a good day.

Week 3: 17-20 Loss vs. New Orleans (home)
14 attempts for 51 rushing yards (3.6 YPC)
5 receptions for 15 receiving yards
4 Pancakes

This was a really tough loss because we kept up with New Orleans for almost the whole game and even came close to winning, but they hit a field goal to win it. Not my best game, either. I was starting to feel bad at this point in the season because I wasn’t doing a very good job and I was letting the fans down, which made me sad.

Week 4: 29-33 Loss @ Austin
23 attempts for 103 rushing yards (4.5 YPC)
3 receptions for 12 receiving yards
2 Pancakes

I came into this game really motivated after the last 2 games. I didn’t want to keep playing badly and I worked with the coaches to make sure I knew all of the plays and didn’t make as many mistakes. I ended up playing a really good game and broke 100 yards for the first time this season. Unfortunately, though, we lost a close game against Austin, making this our second loss at home and our third loss overall. The bummer was that, out of our first four games, the 2 games where I played the best were games that we still lost. I decided to keep working hard and hoped that we would have a much better game as a team the next week.

Week 5: 36-12 Win @ Honolulu
18 attempts for 83 rushing yards (4.6 YPC)
2 receptions for 11 receiving yards
4 Pancakes

As promised, I practiced really hard and ended up having a very good game. I didn’t break 100 yards again this time, but I still did a very good job running the ball. We ended up winning by a whole lot. I know that made the Honolulu fans a little sad and I felt bad for beating them by that much, but I tried to be nice to everyone I ran into after the game and even signed autographs to help make up for it. This was only Honolulu’s second season as a team and I think they’re doing great so far, but we needed a win really badly and had to play our very best even if it made the fans there sad.

Week 6: 21-14 Win vs. Baltimore (home)
26 attempts for 93 rushing yards (3.5 YPC), 1 rushing Touchdown
5 receptions for 29 receiving yards
3 Pancakes

This was kind of a good game for me. I didn’t get a good YPC number, but I still got lots of yards and even scored my second Touchdown of the season. Baltimore is a pretty good team and has some great players, so we were super excited to get the win here. This was our first win at home, so the fans were really thankful that they got to see us get it in front of them. Don’t worry, though. I was still nice to everyone after the game even though we won!

Week 7: 31-7 Win vs. Sarasota (home)
15 attempts for 56 rushing yards (3.7 YPC)
1 reception for 5 receiving yards
2 Pancakes

Another home game and, thankfully, another win. This game brought us to 4-3 and was our third win in a row. Last season, we went 4-8-1, so it was nice to have a winning record already this season. I knew it would be tough to keep the wins coming, but it still felt nice even if I knew we couldn’t celebrate it too early. Like Honolulu, Sarasota is also on their second season together as a team, so I think they definitely deserve credit for trying their best.

Week 8: 17-22 Loss @ Chicago
14 attempts for 31 rushing yards (2.2 YPC)
3 receptions for 25 receiving yards
2 Pancakes

This was my worst game so far this season. Even though I’m supposed to get 4.0 YPC, coach wasn’t too mean when I missed it only by a few points, but I couldn’t manage to get far with the ball at all in this game and I felt like everyone was disappointed in me. Even though it was on the road, we still lost a really important game and, for the first time since week 3, I felt like I let the team down. I told myself I would be extra nice to the team to make up for it, but I’m always really nice to everyone, so I guess they didn’t notice I was trying harder than usual…

Week 9: 34-13 Win @ Philadelphia
27 attempts for 92 rushing yards (3.4 YPC), 2 rushing Touchdowns
2 receptions for 9 receiving yards
1 Pancake, 1 Sack Allowed

This was another pretty good game. The YPC number was still low, but at least it was better than the week before. I got 2 Touchdowns this week, brining my total to 4 so far this season. The only bad thing was I slipped up and let someone get a sack on my friend Jay, so I had to apologize to him afterwards. Thankfully, we still won by a big amount, giving us a winning record again at 5-4. I think, by this time, people were starting to realize that we were a much better team this season and that we might be able to make the playoffs if we kept playing well as a team.

Week 10: 16-27 Loss @ Colorado
17 attempts for 75 rushing yards (4.4 YPC), 1 rushing Touchdown
4 receptions for 30 receiving yards
3 Pancakes

Colorado really locked us down this week. We were able to do decently against them, but they came into this season as the defending champions and played like champions in this game. I did pretty good on all fronts and was proud of myself. However, I still feel like they’re going to be our toughest challenge if we can make it all the way to the Ultimus championship, so I took lots of notes while watching footage from this game. I know that people expect the Otters or the Second Line to beat us if we do make the playoffs, but I still think it’s important to be prepared if we do face Colorado again.

Week 11: 46-13 Win vs. Yellowknife (home)
25 attempts for 80 rushing yards (3.2 YPC), 2 rushing Touchdowns
4 receptions for 23 receiving yards
1 Pancake

As a team, I think this was a major win for us and I think the fans agreed. Even though we were playing them at home, Yellowknife is a very good team and you can never take them for granted. We came in with our game faces on and played our best. I even managed to get 2 Touchdowns after only scoring 5 times in the first 10 weeks.

Week 12: 19-31 Loss @ Orange County
10 attempts for 18 rushing yards (1.8 YPC)
2 receptions for 4 receiving yards
1 Penalty for 3 Yards

Even though the Chicago game was not good for me, I somehow managed to play worse this time! No matter what I tried, the Otters defense made it hard for me to get very far with the ball. I even messed up and made my first penalty of the season. I thought the refs were being mean to me at first, but looking back, maybe I was just mad about my performance and didn’t handle it well on the field. I guess the important lesson here is not to let your frustrations get to you.

Week 13: 40-3 Win vs. San Jose (home)
30 attempts for 106 rushing yards (3.5 YPC), 1 rushing Touchdown
7 receptions for 36 receiving yards
3 Pancakes

This was our second time playing San Jose this season and, thankfully, it was another win (and a big one at that). I know my YPC continues to be low for a running back, but I did manage to get over 100 yards for the second time this season. I also got a bunch of receptions. I’ve been trying to get more involved in the passing game, so Cue has someone close by that he can throw the ball to when he gets in trouble and I think our practices together really paid off here. Good game for everyone on the team and a very important win. This was also my 8th rushing Touchdown of the season.

Upcoming Games
Week 14 @ New Orleans
Week 15 vs. Austin (home)
Week 16 vs. Honolulu (home)

We still have 3 games to go before the playoffs and we’re in a tough fight with Austin for the 3rd spot. I hope we can beat New Orleans and we almost did the last time we played them, but that was at home and I know it’s going to be a tougher game for us when we visit them. I really enjoyed seeing the city of New Orleans when we went there last season, but their fans can get really loud and crazy during the game. I know I can get confused easily when there is a lot of noise during the game, so I imagine the other Outlaws feel the same. Austin will be a tough game as well, but we are facing them at home and our away game against them was really close, so I think we can get back a win in Arizona. Then, we face Honolulu to end the season and I’m hoping we can beat them again since we already did so on the road.

Season Prediction: 9-7

Fingers crossed for the playoffs! Let’s show everyone what we can do, Outlaws!
