*Brief talk with DSFL prospect - Raylan Crowder - Asked Madden - 07-22-2020 Humble, calm, quiet, down to earth - these are not words you would use to describe the mountain of a man sitting over the table from me. Born and raised in the quiet town of Shelbyville Kentucky, Crowder has lead a rather privileged life. His "better than you" attitude made apparent by the lazy click of his fingers to grab the waitresses attention. "Jock, meathead, bully. I've been called all of these at school, I played up to every one of them." He said with a wry grin on his face. "It didn't matter, everyone knew I would make it so everyone sucked up to me anyway. Football, Baseball, Lacrosse - you name the sport I was best in the school everything came naturally." College was a different beast altogether for Crowder, heavily recruited out of high school he made the decision to go to ASU "Go Sun devils" whooped the big man when we moved on to his college career. Crowder had a quiet freshman year trying to break into the squad. "It was a difficult year, to go from being clearly the best athlete in my school to only just being the best athlete at ASU was difficult. It played on me my first year and got in my head. I made the decision to bulk and move from LB to DE. That's when everything at ASU clicked." He isn't wrong - his monster stats from his second year helped catch the eye of many a recruiter from the DSFL. "I'm not here to make friends" he says, "I'm here to make every QBs day hell, but most importantly I'm here to make bucks." "Hopefully somewhere with good bars and hot chicks" he answered when asked where he was hoping to get drafted. And with that Crowder got up and left the bar shaking hands with a few confused looking patrons on his way out. Leaving me to pick up the tab. |
