*Madden Pro Bowl Preview - CLG Rampage - 08-02-2020 Good morning, everyone! With the ISFL Pro Bowl kicking off tonight, I’d like to share the rosters and show you how the conversion from DDSPF to Madden 18 has changed our players, and talk about the rosters in general. So, with that small preamble out of the way, let’s look at the teams, starting with the NSFC NSFC Pro Bowl Roster, represented by the 49ers. 81 OVR QB Wolfie McDummy, 91 OVR Cooter Bigsby, 87 OVR McDummy’s extra accuracy gets him the nod to start over Cooter. Unfortunately, the 79 speed glitch doesn’t work in Madden, so he won’t be a greek demigod on running plays. He’ll still be decently mobile, at least enough to dodge a pass rusher or two. RB Mathias Hanyadi, 94 OVR Sam Torenson, 94 OVR Asher Quinn, 84 OVR Apollo Reed, 59 OVR Well, Hanyadi and Torenson are very good, at least. A very strong 1-2 punch for the NSFC. Reed though… Yikes. His low intelligence translated extremely badly to stats like awareness, Ball Carrier Vision, basically anything related to INT? He don’t got it. Hell, putting Asher Quinn as a running back, he has a much better rating at 84 OVR. Safe to say, Reed ain’t getting much playing time, unfortunately. WR Bender B. Rodriguez, 93 OVR Sean O’Leary, 92 OVR Rayne Gordon, 87 OVR Nacho Varga, 81 OVR William Lim, 76 OVR Strong receiving core for the NSFC, stronger than the ASFC (but we’ll get to that later). O’Leary, one of our flex players, will be slotting into the receiving core unlike Quinn. Since the NSFC had two flex players, I decided to put them at different positions just to hopefully get both of them playing time, though this definitely isn’t guaranteed with the weird sub logic of Madden TE Avon Blocksdale, 82 OVR James Angler, 67 OVR Another case of low INT bringing down player ratings in Madden, at least for Angler. Blocksdale is perfectly fine and should be a good receiving option for McDummy and Bigsby, Angler will be ok. OL Simon Tremblay, 82 OVR LT Laszlo Fourty-Two, 91 OVR C Byron Dolls, 85 OVR RT Since both sides don’t get up to 5 O-Lineman, I’m putting them in the most important places on the offensive line. Good tackles are a must, and the NSFC as a whole will have a solid line up front in both pass protection and run blocking. DE Immanuel Blackstone, 86 OVR LE Spike Suzuki, 64 OVR RE Once again, Suzuki gets absolutely slammed in Madden in terms of overall, due to low Awareness and Play Rec. He’ll still be fine, his strength is high enough, but we’ll see how much it affects him on the field. DT Bubba Thumper, 90 OVR Giannis Kroustis, 87 OVR Not much else to say here, Krou and Thumper are both strong interior DLinemen that will bring a lot of hurt onto the ASFC’s run game. LB Douglas Quaid, 85 OVR LOLB Mo Berry, 93 OVR MLB Haha Mango-Panda, 74 OVR ROLB Berry is undoubtedly the leader of the defense, boasting the highest overall across the entire unit. Quaid and Mango should be solid on the outside, though again, it remains to be seen if Panda’s low-ish awareness will hurt him on the field. CB Brandon Booker, 88 OVR Tyler Oles Jr., 87 OVR Tyron Shields, 80 OVR Not a bad CB group for the NSFC, they should be fast enough to keep up with the ASFCs receivers. Shields is another player slightly let down by INT, but since I standarized coverage stats across all the DBs (because I did not feel like making up some frickin’ formula, then applying that to every player, etc etc.), he’s still good. S Magnus Valdyr, 79 OVR Jamie Nkiah, 90 OVR Matt Cross, 89 OVR Solid safety group here, with Valdyr once again hurting due to low Awareness and Play Rec. Not much else to say, so let’s move onto the kickers! K Silver Banana, 85 OVR P Jacob Small, 78 OVR They’re good at kicking! I really don’t need to say much more than that, do I? Finishing off the NSFC, let’s move over to special teams. ST Lousiana Purcahse, 99 OVR KR Mathias Hanyadi, 99 OVR PR Really, I could have had these guys at either position, but since Purchase was the best kick returner and Hanyadi was the best punt returner, this just made sense. And there’s the NSFC! With that roster all set, let’s move over to the ASFC ASFC Pro Bowl Roster, represented by the Chiefs. 85 OVR QB Franklin Armstrong, 91 OVR Jay Cue, 87 OVR Unlike Armstrong and McDummy, Cue actually has some amount of mobility, at least in Madden. He won’t be outrunning CBs or anything like that, but scrambling past a linebacker or defensive end? Should be very possible. Armstrong is still the better passer, at least in terms of accuracy. RB Marcella Toriki, 94 OVR Tatsu Nakamura, 85 OVR Jamar Lackson, 74 OVR Baby Yoda, 78 OVR 94 overall seems to be the max for running backs transferred from the sim, at least from the way I transfer over stats. Strange. Anyways, Toriki is strong, Nakamura is solid and Lackson has pretty terrible awareness, but 99 speed is the only thing that really matters in Madden, so Lackson is fine. Yoda is also here, since he’s a RB. WR Saba Donut, 89 OVR Net Gaines, 87 OVR Jed Podolak, 85 OVR Ed Barker, 82 OVR Weaker than the NSFC, but still a really strong group overall. With even Barker being 99 speed, one of the non-ISFL corners is going to try and cover him. Which will almost certainly be a disaster. TE Austin McCormick, 86 OVR Jeffrey Phillips, 75 OVR OL Bruce Buckley, 90 OVR LT Givussafare Rubbe, 92 OVR LG Douglas Quail, 71 OVR C Edmond Beaver-Dantes, 79 OVR RT The ASFC has the advantage of one extra OLineman compared to the NSFC, and boy, do they have some strong ones. Buckley and Rubbe make a strong punch on the left side, and Dantes should be fine slotting in at RT. Quail is certainly a question mark, but again, he has the strength and blocking stats. DE Ben Tu’inkuafe, 80 OVR LE Logan Noble Jr., 79 OVR RE Neither of the ASFC DEs have INT so bad it tanks their overall, so both Tu’inkuafe and Noble Jr. should be strong coming off the edge. DT Rapid Eagle, 85 OVR Big Edd, 75 OVR Can you guess why Edd’s overall is so much lower? That’s right, Awareness and Play Rec! They’re still strong and fast enough to provide threat to the NSFC’s potent run game, so it’ll be interesting to see who wins up front. LB Galf Wilf, 87 OVR LOLB Quenton Bode, 84 OVR MLB Ugarth the Dissector, 77 OVR MLB George Fisher, 77 OVR ROLB Solid linebacker group all around here, no obvious weaknesses or big drops in overall. Bode and Dissector might struggle in coverage a little, but other than that, they’re well rounded. CB Korrin Abernathy, 92 OVR Dermot Lavelle Jr., 91 OVR Zamir Kehla, 88 OVR The veterans the ASFC have at CB compared to the NSFC gives them the edge here. Even Kehla is really, really good. Throwing against these guys is going to be a challenge, for sure. S Mason Blaylock, 91 OVR Prince Vegeta, 93 OVR Shawn Dawkins, 83 OVR Arguably even stronger than the cornerbacks, Vegeta and Blaylock are an extremely strong 1-2 punch. Vegeta gets the honor of being the highest rated defensive player for the ASFC, as well. K Herbert Prohaska, 78 OVR P Venus Powers, 85 OVR Kinda funny that the kicking overalls are the opposite of the NSFC. But they kick! ST Mako Mendonca, 99 OVR KR Mason Blaylock 99 OVR PR Mendonca gets to return kicks and Blaylock gets to return punts! Let’s see if Mendonca can get lucky and score a return TD, he got two in the ISFL. And there are the rosters for both the NSFC and ASFC! Now, let’s talk about how I plan to set Madden up in order to best use everyone on both rosters. Obviously, we’re playing on All Madden with the simulation game style, to hopefully get a little bit closer to some actual football. The quarter length will be set to 6 minutes, with the game taking place in Super Bowl 52’s stadium. Fatigue is set to 60 with the sub frequency as maxed as I could get it, so hopefully everyone gets at least some playing time. If not, there’s not much else I can do, unfortunately, and I didn’t want player skill to come into the equation. So me playing both teams, which was an idea I tinkered with in the beginning, was out as an option. Everything else is set to defaults, except player speed threshold which has been set to 40. Just so faster players play faster. So, who's going to come out on top? Will the NSFC's strong run game prevail, or can the ASFC defense shut down Hanyadi and Torenson? We'll find out tonight! RE: Madden Pro Bowl Preview - goodfortunecoffee - 08-02-2020 Maybe it's changed in more recent Maddens, but I would at least suggest changing the difficulty to Pro. From simming earlier maddens (like 04-09) All-Madden leads to a ton of interceptions and incompletions. I could be way wrong tho. EDIT: All-Pro might be best Anyway this is a really great idea and I'm looking forward to the stream!
