*DSFL Prospect Bowl Report: Weeks 1 & 2 - platanocat - 08-03-2020 DSFL Prospect Bowl Weeks 1 & 2 What an AWSOME start to the DSFL preseason. The East took an early lead in the Prospect Bowl. The Amarillo Tumbleweeds and the Tiburon Landsharks both dominated the competition, being the only two teams to finish with 2 wins and zero loses. The Landsharks conquered the Liverpool Llamas and the Calgary Cavalry in landslide victories. Quarterback Holloway had an impressive performance, not just in passing, but also by showing of some mobility via two rushing touchdowns. The Amarillo Tumbleweeds made their debut by defeating the Brooklyn Atlantics in two back to back wins. While not as one sided as the Tiburon victories, Amarillo still made their point overwhelmingly succinct that they are here to win. Bill Brasky had a great performance and shows potential in the upcoming draft. The special teams even scored a punt return touchdown. Truly abysmal for the Atlantics. Running in the middle of the pack, we have the Llamas and the Cavalry. Both teams were able to put up a single win and a single loss, emphasizing some potential needs. At quarterback, Llamas’ Blackburn was able to manage at least one touchdown pass, while the Cavalry’s Rico could not. This emphasizes a need at quarterback protection through offensive linemen. Good quarterbacks can’t show their true potential if they never have the chance to manage the ball. That being said, too many rookies can’t make the switch to big league ball. Only time will tell whether Rico and Blackburn have what it takes to play in the DSFL. The Cavalry, however, were able to show up the Llamas with their one rushing touchdown. Both teams ultimately fell to the Tiburon Landsharks. Finally, bringing up the rear we have the Tokyo Drifters and the Brooklyn Atlantics. While both teams came out of weeks 1 and 2 with zero wins, not all the stats are bad. Tokyo quarterback Daytona was able to complete two passing touchdowns, one of which was to up and coming wide receiver M. Walker. Walker also was able to showcase 141 yards. The Brooklyn Atlantics, without a doubt, put up the worst performance the past two weeks. Their offense was only able to put up a meager 204 yards, while simultaneously giving up 287 yards on defense. The only touchdown the Atlantics had in two weeks was the rushing touchdown scored by running back F. Lantz. The only diamond in the rough appears to be the season 25 offensive lineman Marlon Alexander, who managed to give up zero sacks the first two weeks. Overall, an interesting start to the DSFL Prospect Bowl. Some rookies made strides, some made baby steps. We’ll see what happens, who shows up, and who falls flat in the following weeks. RE: DSFL Prospect Bowl Report: Weeks 1 & 2 - Crodyman - 08-04-2020 Yes sirrrrrrr RE: DSFL Prospect Bowl Report: Weeks 1 & 2 - ztarwarz - 08-04-2020 I mean, I'd say you'd be overpromoting yourself by claiming victory over not giving up any sacks...but how many sacks did our line give up anyways? It was a lot. RE: DSFL Prospect Bowl Report: Weeks 1 & 2 - deadlunatic - 08-04-2020 My boy Walker got a mention! RE: DSFL Prospect Bowl Report: Weeks 1 & 2 - Peterson - 08-04-2020 I mean I gotta agree with @ztarwarz on this one it’s a bit overzealous on self promoting but eh you do you |
