*An Analysis of DT Prospects - zeagle1 - 08-04-2020 An Analysis of DT prospects *Note* *I had to update because of bad research* After the rousing success (not really) of my OL prospect analysis, I’ve decided to do an analysis of the big beefy boys of the defense. There are nine defensive tackle prospects in season 25. Since DT is the lamest position not named “kicker”, I am surprised it’s even this high. Anyways, here’s my analysis of the DT prospects: some facts about them, a few opinions on their approach and user activity, and finally a grade for each prospect. Like last time, they’re in no particular order. 1. Hunter Mantis Facts: It feels wrong to call someone who’s 6’3” and 300 pounds undersized, but here we have it. In a world where being the max weight is imperative, those missing 10 pounds are gonna hurt Mantis’ draft stock. He’s an interior rusher with a well rounded 60 strength, 50 agility, 52 tackling, 63 speed, and 60 endurance. Opinions: Hunter Mantis does not even have an update page, and user kookymantis has not been online since July 20th, the day the account was created. This is not the making of a promising prospect. Analysis: An inactive user, who built an uninspiring player. Even if the user returned and resumed activity, Hunter Mantis is too far behind his DT prospect peers to stand a chance in the draft and DSFL. Grade: F- 2. Vance Slattery Facts: The 310-pound nose tackle archetype went all in on agility, and speed raising them all the way up to 52 and 50 respectively. Some investment in tackling also brings that up to 50. Beyond the first 50 TPE, Slattery has gained an impressive 76 TPE, investing those points into raising his strength from 70 to 80, and into increasing his speed from 50 to 63. Vance is shaping up to being quite the formidable player. Opinions: Vance Slattery is shaping up to be an OL nightmare with impressive strength and speed, and with solid agility and tackling. User Punter715 has gained an impressive amount of TPE and has used it very effectively. Beyond this, Punter715 has posted three media pieces already, which is a great start for a new user. Analysis: Punter715 is an active user that appears to be pumping out media pieces for earnings and has been extremely active on the forums. Between the high activity and the smart use of TPE, Punter715 seems like a veteran in a rookie’s account. Grade: A 3. Booker Bookchin Facts: Booker Bookchin is a great name, firstly. Secondly, he’s undersized and needs to gain 5 pounds to reach his full potential. His first 50 TPE were spread evenly throughout his stats. He has 60 strength, 50 agility, 45 tackling, 60 speed, and 65 endurance. Opinions: User FullMetalJensen has made one media post and it was saying that Bookchin was hit by a car and has to medically retire, so +1 for creativity and +1 for roll playing, but -infinity for killing your player before they even get drafted. Analysis: Press F to pay respects. Grade: F— (Minus minus) 4. Bonifacius van den Huevel Facts: Without a doubt the longest name in the class, BvdH is a 310-pound run stuffer from The Hague, Netherlands. Another prospect who used his first 50 TPE to hit the gym, he has 71 strength, 55 agility, 53 tackling, and 60 endurance. Opinions: User Inspector Moon has not visited our wonderful forum since July 21st, so one could presume that he has gone inactive. He made an update page and did an activity check and the free first training, but that’s it. No media or graphics as well. Analysis: A player that is OK at best, and a seemingly inactive user. The most creative name in the DT draft class has been wasted. BvdH is at best a filler player. Grade: D- 5. Honky-Tonk Haywood Facts: Another great name (there’s gotta be something in the water in DT land), Honky-Tonk is another player who took a generalist approach to distributing their initial 50 TPE. 61 strength, 50 agility, 53 tackling, 61 speed, and 60 endurance make for a well-rounded player. H-T has gained 56 TPE since joining the league and has used them well, so Honky Tonk is another prospect to watch. He's invested heavily in strength, raising it up to 70, and agility, bringing that up to 56. Opinions: User jzajenius36 has been active on the forum, making 25 posts. He even put out a media piece for 2x rookie media week. He's been active and earned an impressive 56 TPE so far. And he was nice enough to tell me that I made a mistake when researching him, and helped me fixed it ![]() Analysis: Honky-Tonk Haywood is another player who is run by an active user that has a good grasp of how to spend TPE. GMs and Scouts should keep an eye on Honky Tonk because he very well could shape up to be a good player in the ISFL. Grade: A 6. Angelo Cerilli Facts: Max height and weight is always a good start. He has a standard distribution of his 50 TPE, leaving him with 60 strength, 50 agility, 50 intelligence, 50 tackling, 50 speed, 50 hands, 60 endurance. Since creating his character, He has gained another 56 TPE, all of which have been banked. Opinions: Banking all your TPE is an interesting strategy. It doesn’t effect the prospect bowl because that’s conducted with the base 50 TPE, and as long as GMs and Scouts see the banked TPE, it should not hurt his stock. User angeloc has been an active member of the forum, making 29 posts since joining, and wrote one media piece. Analysis: Totaling 106 TPE, Angelo Cerilli is a good prospect, even if most of that TPE has not been distributed. The media he has written is a good sign, as earning money is crucial in this world. Overall, He is a good prospect that could be great, depending on how the banked TPE is used. Grade: A- 7. Sheed Thebaw Facts: At 6’5” and 300 pounds, Thebaw could be described as skinny by DT standards. He will need to beef up for the DSFL season. An interior rusher, he has 60 strength, 50 agility, 46 tackling, 62 speed, and 60 endurance. Sheed has earned 58 TPE, but only spent seven. These TPE were used to boost Tackling, Agility, and Intelligence a point or two each. Opinions: Much like Angelo Cerilli, SHeed Thebaw has banked a sizeable amount of TPE. User nutbarspadge has been very active, grabbing just about every TPE they could. They’ve also written a few media pieces, which is a promising start for such a young user. Analysis: A ton of unused TPE and a couple media pieces is a GMs dream. Sheed Thebaw is run by an active user who obviously understands the forum well and is currently on the path to success in the DSLF and ISFL. Grade: A 8. J.J.J. Shabadoo Facts: Practically a midget at 6’0”, JJJ has an impressive 70 strength, complimented by 60 speed. JJJ is a very athletic player. He has only earned two TPE at this point, so there is nothing particularly impressive about him. Opinions: Well, the user is inactive, so that’s great. His profile picture is a tattoo of a Simpsons looking character with JJJ Shabadoo around it so that’s extremely concerning for him. 2 Threads and 4 posts, none recently, is not the making of an all-star, or even a benchwarmer. Analysis: Inactive user, blahblahblah I can’t keep writing the same things about these players, man. Grade: F 9. LeDavious Davis This player/account appears to be inactive so I’ll skip the fluff Grade: F This is a thin DT class, with the fewest recruits (excluding the weirdos that chose K/P), and only four that are active. Luckily, as far as the active DT recruits go, all of them appear to be promising. All in all, this isn’t a great class, but it has a few studs who are worth looking at. DT isn't the sexiest or coolest position, but there are some interesting prospects. Words:1358 RE: An Analysis of DT Prospects - jzajenius36 - 08-04-2020 Excellent write-up my fellow big boi. My only question is - I believe I've followed the protocol on updating my player on the unassigned player updates page consistently. Maybe I've missed a step or two? If someone could point me in the right direction that'd be super helpful. My update page can be found here RE: An Analysis of DT Prospects - angeloc - 08-04-2020 A- eh? *shrugs* good read.
