*S24 W1 Predictions Tallies - goodfortunecoffee - 08-12-2020

One of the common criticisms of Weekly Predictions is that they are basically copied just like Trivia. Out of a possible 64 combinations of predictions, 35 combinations were made. The highest frequency combination made up 111 out of 289 of the entries. (Or 292 entries if you count the accidental(?) incomplete entries. 38.4%. Granted, there is a clear number one combo. Also it did appear a lot of the less used combos were from newer players, which to me is a good thing.

COL  268/291(92.1%) CHI  23/291(7.9%)
PHI  179/291(61.5%) YKW  112/291(38.5%)
SAR  241/292(82.5%) BAL  51/292(17.5%)
ARI  267/292(91.4%) HON  25/292(8.6%)
OCO  202/292(69.2%) NOLA  90/292(30.8%)
AUS  269/290(92.8%) SJS  21/290(7.2%)

I had this idea of assuming everyone making a prediction is betting 100 points and the winners share the loser's pot. But the points would be rounded. No house taking a cut or anything like that.

COL =9 pts
CHI =-100 pts
YKW =160 pts
PHI =-100 pts
SAR = 21 pts
BAL = -100 pts
HON = 1,068 pts (jackpot!)
ARI = -100 pts
NOLA = 224 pts
OCO = -100 pts
SJS = 1,281 pts (jackpot!)
AUS = -100 pts

Check which combo was yours for your theoretical point total after week 1

I realized halfway thru it would've been interesting to track who was the 1st to make each combo, and naming the combo after them, but it was too late. Also this took way longer than I initially guessed, so uh yeah I wouldnt expect another one of these for each week, but who knows. I think this one was worth it.
