Fair warning, I've never really done photo editing before so these are gonna suck for at least the next few weeks. If anyone has any tips on how to make better edits or on a free editing software(I've been using Pixlr so far) it'll be gladly appreciated because I'm completely new at this stuff.

I'm in a similar situation, I use GIMP as it's free and isn't all that limited. Look up some tutorials for gimp on youtube, eg: how to use the path tools, and other simple stuff.
