Yellowknife Bot Fine Appeal - JKortesi81 - 09-04-2020
The appeals team recently received yet another appeal from someone who did something wrong and can't accept the fact that they got in trouble for it. This time, the Yellowknife Wraiths proceeded to not post thier purchase of OL bots for this season in time. It's a pretty clear rule/punishment combo here, they broke it, and the appeals team voted 4-0 with 1 handsome fella abstaining to uphold HO's ruling.
Stop appealing everything, everyone. Sheesh.

Normal cap fine of $1M per bot. So $4M total.

@JKortesi81 apologies for the delayed response, somehow didn't stumble on this thread until now. Did the appeals team take into account that there has never before been a fine issued to a team for failing to purchase OL bots for a season, even though BAL committed the same infraction in S19 and COL in S20? If this is such a "clear rule/punishment combo", why has such a rule never before been enforced?
edit: probably less relevant, but it also appears that there were 9 instances of teams not buying OL bots for a season between the OL bot thread's posting in S4 and S11.
edit 2: I'll also go ahead and tag what I believe to be the rest of the appeals committee, because I'd love to hear the thinking behind this. @woelkers @Bwestfield @manicmav36 @Laser
edit 3: While I'm waiting for a response, I guess I'll keep adding questions. Can anyone point me to the "clear rule/punishment combo"? The closest punishment analog I can find in the rulebook is II.D.16 "GMs are responsible for depositing their team’s contracts before the airing of Week 1 sims. Failure to do so will result in a $100,000 fine per player against the team’s cap total." Where does the precedent for this "normal cap fine of $1m per bot" come from?
