*Human Offensive Line Season & Career Records - NicholasTheGreat - 09-12-2020

The Sim we use in the league does keep records for seasons and careers and are often an accurate indication of a player’s greatness. However one position group does not have this indication of a player’s greatness – the Offensive Line.

The history of Offensive line has been an interesting tale through the sheer number in the early season to the removal of Offensive line almost after season three. The removal is the result of the introduction of offensive line bots which is what we will be discussing now. Having bots in the league allowed for these robots to set records in the season and career as if they were human players. There was no way in the sim to differentiate the human lineman to bot offensive lineman in regards to statistics. This Is why this article is here, to bring you the accurate records and figures for human offensive lineman.

Offensive Lineman have two statistics, sacks and pancakes. Through this article, I will tell you the record holders in a season in each of these categories and tell you the career records as well, so let’s get started!



Sacks Allowed in a Season [Top 10]

1 – Thaddeus Bullard | Las Vegas Legion | Season 3 | 20 Sacks Allowed

2 – Adam Bennett | Philadelphia Liberty | Season 2 | 17 Sacks Allowed

3 – Sammy Walters | Philadelphia Liberty | Season 3 | 16 Sacks Allowed

This is the list any Offensive Lineman doesn’t want to belong on. As time goes on the build an Offensive Lineman needs to become successful has become known and has lead to less sacks overall given up. This can be the reason behind the vast majority of high sack allowed seasons being in the beginnings of the league and not more recent times. The lone exception in this list is Dorfus Jimbo Jr, who got his name added to this list last season when he had one of the worst Offensive line seasons in recent league history.

What a list of names here and there is a bit to analyse here so let’s start.
- 6 of the top 10 pancakes seasons come from season 24 which can be attributed to the 16 game schedule. The longest schedule in recent years will boost season records and career records, especially for the young offensive lineman. As a result the seasons from early National Simulation Football League like Ben Longshaw and Tim Pest should be especially noted as extraordinary.
- On a similar note, I am pretty thankful that Tim Pest’s record got beat this season as it would’ve been really awkward giving an ER multi the award and record. I was really un sure about including him but now that he isn’t on the top, I can include him with an Asterix.
- Laszlo improved continuously during his 3 seasons as an offensive lineman, Hall of Famer.
- Rubbe is on the list 3 times, Laszlo is there 3 times as well. Dolls, Bayley, Buckley and Quail are there twice.

- Just like the single season record, the career sacks allowed chart is primarily filled with 1st era players who played before the introduction of Offensive Line bots.
- Beaver-Dantes retires from the league 6th all time in sacks allowed.
- Thaddeus Bullard makes the list only playing OL in one season which is extraordinary.
- The only active lineman in double digits in their career is Dorfus Jimbo Jr. who is on 16 career sacks. Could Scorp find his way on this list after Season 25?

- The youth in the league will take over the list and move up steadily. Starts with Bruce Buckley in 6th position who will more then likely end up 3rd at the end of season 25.
- Angus Winchester in 9th is the only Hall of Famer on this list. This should hopefully change as time goes on.
