*All non-expansion teams top Draft Board players - Beefstu409 - 09-13-2020 Using my previously posted Mock Draft Engine I've built out what the S25 draft may look like at this point in time. Obviously the expansion draft will significantly shake things up but I thought this is an interesting point to start from when looking at where teams may be looking to fill gaps. Below is the generators draft board for all non-expansion teams and what they may be looking for. I'll add in the top 3 positions that are needed according to the engine with the default settings selected. Here's the draft boards: ![]() ![]() The Hawks have issues at Defensive Tackle where they have some relatively younger players who aren't earning very much. Specifically Sardine Bean is not playing up to his classmates, his 271 TPE is good for 5th in the class and trails the average of 497.5 by quite a bit. At Safety they have some young players earning well but Walt Green is an S15 vet and is regressing quickly, this age propels their need in this position. At Defensive End they hold a group of three young players but they're just not quite on the level of the rest of the league, this group's average TPE trails league average by about 203 TPE. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() Realistically the Butchers are in a pretty good position, their Defensive Ends end to be just a touch older than league average (about half a year) and typically play a little below league average. Their Defensive Tackles are pretty strong in terms of their TPE, and they track to about league average for age. The differentiator here is that they only roster 2 at the position versus a league average of 2.5, again not a big hole to fill. Quarterback is similar in this respect. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() The Yeti roster only one Defensive Tackle, and while Bubba Thumper comes in at an impressive 1275 TPE, he's an aging S17 player. They only roster 2 Cornerbacks and they're both older as well. They outshine the league by nearly 400 TPE on average. Tight End may be a spot for them to look into as they only roster one and again it's a similar story to the DT's, high TPE average player and only one rostered. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() The Liberty need to figure something out at Defensive Tackle, they roster only 2, they have 5 years of experience on average, but really trail the league in TPE. Rostering only 2 Cornerbacks who trail the league in TPE, this may be another area to look into, this group though is a bit younger than league average. At Running Back they have high TPE players, but they are trending a bit older compared to league average. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() Sarasota's Cornerback group trails the league in TPE on average and is a bit older, may be time to find some younger users that can beef up that area. At Linebacker, they only roster 3 compared to a nearly 4 league average but they're right around league average for TPE and maybe a touch older. At Offensive Line they roster 3 which is high, but on average they're much worse than the league. However the group is relatively young so maybe this is a red herring. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() Yellowknife rosters only 2 Cornerbacks and they're slightly above league average TPE wise, but they are about 6.6 years older on average than the league average. They need to refill here and the mock engine knows it. They roster only 1 Offensive Lineman who is again very high TPE (890) but Laszlo Forty-Two is a S16 player and will be on his way out soon. Their 4 Wide Receivers are slightly below average in TPE and are right about the same age as league average. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() The Outlaws are a young team in relatively good shape. Their 3 Running Backs are lacking in TPE but average a year younger than league average. At Safety they only roster 2 who are lower on TPE, but are also younger. They roster a lot of Defensive Tackles, but this group is their oldest relative to the league. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() The Copperheads need to start thinking about the future, they are a much older team than most of the league. At Tight End where they only roster S16s Peter Larson who sits at 463 TPE, a revamp is needed. Their two Offensive Linemen trail the league in TPE and are aging. Bots can only get you so far. Their Safeties are another group, they roster only 3, they fall just below league average, and they're about a year and a half older than average. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() While the Honolulu Safeties are pretty good, they only roster 2 safeties which is pretty low compared to league average. Fortunately these two are young. At Defensive Tackle they have a young group that's a little below TPE average for the league. They roster only one young Offensive Linemen. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() The aging Defensive Ends for NOLA average only 338 TPE, making them a vulnerable aging group in need of a jump start. They have good old Running Backs but need to consider looking ahead and filling some needs. At Wide Receiver they only roster 3 and they fall just below league average but they're a relatively young group. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() Orange County only rosters 3 Wide Receivers who are above average against the league in TPE but are starting to age as a group. At Offensive Line they only roster one who's slightly older and slightly below league average for TPE. They roster two great Cornerbacks but they are older and there's only two of them, some youth may help here. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
![]() ![]() The engine gets PISSED when you don't have a position rostered and the SaberCats zero Offensive Linemen is not appreciated. Their 3 Wide Receivers are a bit older than the league average but only track about average with the league. They roster two younger Defensive Ends who lack TPE compared to the league as well. Top determined needs and associated "score" (scale of 1-100)
[1535 words] RE: All non-expansion teams top Draft Board players - Vainknight13 - 09-13-2020 I hope you do another one after expansion. RE: All non-expansion teams top Draft Board players - Air Crou - 09-15-2020 Other than Lavigne and QuakStack being HON and BFS(?) GMs, nice write up! RE: All non-expansion teams top Draft Board players - Beefstu409 - 09-15-2020 Oh shoot I didn't even think about that! I mean the spreadsheet doesn't take that into account but before I do an actual pre-draft mock I'll make sure I account for that. RE: All non-expansion teams top Draft Board players - Pat - 09-15-2020 This article is awesome! Super good. |
