A Look at the Orange County Otters Offensive Line - Big Country - 07-24-2017 An In Depth Look at the Orange County Otters Offensive Line Name: Angus Winchester Position: Left Tackle College: Wisconsin Jersey Number: 66 Height (ft.): 6'6 Weight (lbs.): 330lbs Birthplace: Manchester, TN Player Archetype: Athletic Lineman Player Attributes (MAX: 100) - Strength: 85 5/10 (MAX: 80) - Agility: 51 (MAX: 80) - Intelligence: 56 (MAX: 60) - Tackling: 37 (MAX: 75) - Speed: 47 (MAX: 90) - Pass Blocking: 70 2/5 (MAX: 90) - Run Blocking: 70 (MAX: 100) - Endurance: 61 Winchester is the undeniable captain, of the Offensive Line, if not the entire offense (and arguably the whole team). He is a brute who can bulldoze over his opponents. But besides being the strongest linemen on the team he is also the most nimble as he has strong footwork, helping him on the left side. He is the franchise tackle of the Otters and the gold standard for what a lineman can be. Name: D'Brickashaw Ferguson Position: Left Guard College: Ohio State Jersey Number: 69 Height (ft.): 6'5" Weight (lbs.): 320lbs Birthplace: Bluffton, Ohio Player Archetype: Technician Player Attributes (MAX: 95) - Strength: 70 (MAX: 75) - Agility: 45 (MAX: 90) - Intelligence: 70 (MAX: 60) - Tackling: 35 (MAX: 65) - Speed: 35 (MAX: 95) - Pass Blocking: 71 2/5 (MAX: 95) - Run Blocking: 73 2/5 (MAX: 100) - Endurance: 60 Ferguson is the technician of the line through and through. Despite having average at best strength, his run technical skills as a blocker are above those of even Winchester; you might be surprised to learn that his Run Blocking grades out higher than both Clegane and Winchester. What really makes him standout however is his superb intelligence, he can read the game like a chess master and uses that to his advantage on the line to cover for his teammates. Look for the Otters to try Ferguson out as the center at some point this season. Name: Shjon Finkenlarkin Position: Center College: Temple Jersey Number: 62 Height (ft.): 6'8" Weight (lbs.): 340lbs Birthplace: Malmö, Sweden Player Archetype: Pass Blocker Player Attributes (MAX: 95) - Strength: 70 (3/5) (MAX: 75) - Agility: 45 (MAX: 85) - Intelligence: 60 (MAX: 60) - Tackling: 35 (MAX: 65) - Speed: 35 (MAX: 100) - Pass Blocking: 76 (MAX: 90) - Run Blocking: 70 (MAX: 100) - Endurance: 60 Shjon Finkenlarkin will be starting the year off as Orange County’s center. An awkward position for the 6’8 pass blocker, but he will be rightfully relegated to interier duty considering the skill level of the team’s top lineman. However, Finkenlarkin does hold the most potential not counting Clegane and Winchester. Unlike his teammates who are hit you in your face type players, Shjon is the prototypical Blind Side Left Tackle. What is standing in his way between the LT position and his current roster spot is the impressive resume of his teammate and league MVP, so understandably we don’t expect him to make it to the outside positions this year. Given his pass blocking prowess he could wind up at Left Guard, or potentially Left tackle if the team decides to put Clegane and Winchester next to each other on the right side. First Name: Cliff Hamilton Position: Right Guard College: Hard Knocks Jersey Number: 55 Height (ft.): 6'2" Weight (lbs.): 350 lbs. Birthplace: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Player Archetype: Run Blocker Player Attributes (MAX: 100) - Strength: 70 (MAX: 70) - Agility: 40 (MAX: 85) - Intelligence: 60 (MAX: 60) - Tackling: 35 (MAX: 70) - Speed: 40 (MAX: 90) - Pass Blocking: 70 (MAX: 100) - Run Blocking: 70 (MAX: 100) - Endurance: 60 Hamilton is the run of the Otter’s offensive line in terms of both size and skill. He does not stand out in any one area and is likely destined for the life of a bench player after this season. Although he could float around as a journeyman guard depending on the league’s market for OL in the future. First Name: Greg Clegane Position: Right Tackle College: House of Clegane Jersey Number: 65 Height (ft.): 6'7" Weight (lbs.): 350 lbs. Birthplace: Clegane Keep, Casterly Rock Player Archetype: Run Blocker Player Attributes (MAX: 100) - Strength: 80 8/10 (MAX: 70) - Agility: 42 (MAX: 85) - Intelligence: 61 (MAX: 60) - Tackling: 37 (MAX: 70) - Speed: 42 (MAX: 90) - Pass Blocking: 71 (MAX: 100) - Run Blocking: 71 (MAX: 100) - Endurance: 61 The fact that Clegane was even entered into the entry draft is a farce. He has nearly a full season under his belt and is the clear second in command to Winchester and is the exact type of player a running back wants to play behind. He has the power to bowl over defenders with no regard and is getting stronger every day. After he bulks up expect for him to continue on his path to Run Blocking dominance as he will try to lock down the Right Tackle of the Year trophy in perpetuity. Code: Word Count: 796 GRADED A Look at the Orange County Otters Offensive Line - timeconsumer - 07-24-2017 Good stuff. You round out the team well. A Look at the Orange County Otters Offensive Line - Player1 - 07-24-2017 The top notch pass blocking is really what we were missing from the line last year, so you're a great fit for the team. I do think Finkenlarkin is a natural for the left side of the line, maybe he could switch spots with Ferguson to go left guard but the line will work itself out in the preseason. Don't forget Wright throwing the extra punch at Tight End! |
