*ISFL Expansion Teams: S25 Roster Comparison - platanocat - 09-29-2020 As we near the beginning of Season 25 in the ISFL, the debut of our two brand new expansion teams is much anticipated. In the mean time, we can only speculate how well these teams with the data currently available to us. With the finalizing of their rosters, I decided to breakdown each team by the amount of TPE at each position. For this analysis, the 22 player active rosters for each team that was available in the TPE Tracker was used. Quarterback Advantage: Berlin +284 TPE Players: 1. Nick Kaepercolin: 833 TPE 2. Sam Howitzer: 549 TPE Takeaway: Berlin’s quarterback has the obvious advantage over New York. Berlin will rely on their quarterback to make the flashy plays, while New York will rely on a more concerted team effort to gain offensive yardage. Running Back Advantage: Berlin +69 TPE (nice) Players: 1. Ashley Owens: 679 TPE 2. Joseph Petrongolo: 596 TPE 3. Danny King: 382 TPE 4. Buster Bawls: 230 TPE Takeaway: The running back position is a close race between teams. Both teams appear to have partnered a veteran with a new(er) rookie to split their runs. Wide Receiver Advantage: New York +202 TPE Players: 1. Jackson Kingston: 652 TPE 2. Sean Snyder: 639 TPE 3. Susan Cash Jr: 623 TPE 4. Dre Matthews: 446 TPE 5. Taylor Cooper: 327 TPE 6. Harley Frank: 307 TPE Takeaway: New York has the clear advantage over Berlin at the wide receiver position. This is part of the ‘concerted effort’ mentioned above that will help New York bolster their weaker quarterback. Tight End Advantage: New York +38 TPE Players: 1. Leon McDavid: 963 TPE 2. Clark Boyd: 651 TPE 3. Cmon Skiuuup: 274 TPE Takeaway: The tight end position as an almost even slate. Berlin has the depth and chose to split their talent up, while New York will rely on flashy plays from their elite veteran. Offensive Line Advantage: Berlin +356 TPE Players: 1. Byron Dolls: 530 TPE 2. Douglas Quail: 405 TPE 3. Joey McCabe: 231 TPE Takeaway: Berlin has a huge advantage at offensive line. Berlin has both the better veteran player, as well as some fresh talent. Defensive End Advantage: New York +211 TPE Players: 1. Mario VonPebbles: 744 TPE 2. Jayson Kearse: 661 TPE 3. Steco Ocewilder: 615 TPE 4. Stevie Vassallo: 321 TPE Takeaway: New York has a pretty large advantage over Berlin. While Berlin has the reigning veteran player, New York has managed to even their talent out almost equally amongst their depth. Defensive Tackle Advantage: New York +10 TPE Players: 1. Bubba Thumper: 1013 TPE 2. Claude Miller II: 659 TPE 3. Hank Steel: 602 TPE 4. Riles McTackle: 258 TPE Takeaway: New York and Berlin are essentially tied at defensive tackle. This time Berlin has split their talent evenly while New York has paired their elite veteran with a rookie player. Linebacker Advantage: New York +447 Players: 1. Jack Banks: 638 TPE 2. Hingle McCringleberry: 462 TPE 3. Adam Schell: 425 TPE 4. Holden Summers: 403 TPE 5. Hank Winchester: 323 TPE Takeaway: New York has a huge advantage here. New York has the thicc bois. Cornerback Advantage: Berlin +685 TPE Players: 1. Asher Quinn: 832 TPE 2. Matt Krause: 676 TPE 3. Jordan Andrews: 422 TPE 4. Tomage McGullager: 380 TPE 5. Dukburg QuakStak: 331 TPE 6. Swantavius Jones: 310 TPE Takeaway: Berlin’s advantage at cornerback is astronomical. They have heavily invested in their cornerback position and will expect big results. Safety Advantage: New York +286 TPE Players: 1. Thor Kirkby: 587 TPE 2. Eric Richards: 496 TPE 3. Benoit Blanco: 429 TPE 4. Mac Griddle: 345 TPE 5. Bob Roberts: 279 TPE Takeaway: New York with the substantial advantage at safety. Again, the balance is skewed due to New York bolstering positional depth by calling up a rookie player. Kicker/Punter Advantage: New York +254 TPE Players: 1. Dougie Smalls: 732 TPE 2. Karmichael Hunt: 478 TPE Takeaway: While New York again has the substantial positional advantage at kicker/punter, they’ll need to make their field goals in the chance that their quarterback can’t finish their drives. Overall, you can total each team’s points in two ways. You can simply add the total amount of TPE each roster has accumulated as shown: Berlin Total: 11,357 TPE New York Total: 11,411 TPE Or you can total up the amount of advantage points each team has: Advantage Points: Berlin: +1394 TPE New York: +1448 Either way, the total comes out the same; with New York having a +54 TPE advantage over Berlin.
