*ISFL S25 Chicago vs. Austin Roster Comparison - platanocat - 10-04-2020 The beginning of the ISFL season starts tomorrow with Week 1!! As of right now, we can only speculate how well these teams with the data currently available to us. With the finalizing of their rosters, I decided to breakdown each team by the amount of TPE at each position. For this analysis, the 22 player active rosters for each team that was available in the TPE Tracker was used. Quarterback Advantage: Chicago +65 TPE Players: 1. George O’Donnell: 892 TPE 2. Easton Cole: 827 TPE Takeaway: A close match up between the quarterbacks. George O’Donnell has the advantage for Chicago despite being 5 seasons younger. Running Back Advantage: Chicago +461 TPE Players: 1. Baby Yoda: 926 TPE 2. Julio Tirtawidjaja: 636 TPE 3. Zoe Watts: 556 TPE 4. Kichwa Jones: 545 TPE Takeaway: Even at roster depth, Chicago pulls ahead by simply have the older players on average. Wide Receiver Advantage: Chicago +960 TPE Players: 1. Sean O’Leary: 1205 TPE 2. Bender B. Rodriguez: 1093 TPE 3. Eddie Jeeta: 861 TPE 4. Net Gaines: 737 TPE 5. Videl-San: 689 TPE 6. Luca Scabbia: 647 TPE 7. Friedrich Vequain: 504 TPE 8. Griff Oberwald: 441 TPE 9. Raheem Okusi: 365 TPE Takeaway: When looking at the roster depth at wide receiver, it becomes apparent that these two teams are trying to focus their offense around supporting the passing game. Both teams have some pretty dedicated players, but with Chicago’s top two receivers at 1205 and 1093, their one man roster depth advantage almost becomes a moot point. Tight End Advantage: Chicago +1061 Players: 1. Tree Gelbman: 712 TPE 2. Von Hayes: 681 TPE 3. Peter Larson: 332 TPE Takeaway: While Austin has the older player, Chicago has definitely invested more in their tight ends. Offensive Line Advantage: Chicago +1034 TPE Players: 1. Benson Bayley Jr: 752 TPE 2. Icebox Riposte: 406 TPE 3. Perry Tucker Jr: 322 TPE 4. Hal Fassingit: 235 TPE 5. Samuel Bakhtiari: 211 TPE Takeaway: Once again, Austin has the older players while Chicago was able to come up with higher earners. Defensive End Advantage: Austin +1683 TPE Players: 1. Carolinabbq Isbest: 886 TPE 2. Troen Egghands: 861 TPE 3. Slinky Claxton: 699 TPE 4. Arik Eller: 389 TPE 5. Simeon Works: 374 TPE Takeaway: Coming up short in every position of this roster comparison so far, Austin was finally able to find something that they excel at. They have the roster depth, the older vets, and the highest earners. Chicago is not even close. I’m not so sure having all your advantage in one roster need is a game winning move, but hey I’m not a general manager. Defensive Tackle Advantage: Chicago +794 TPE Players: 1. John “Tripod” Smirh: 844 TPE 2. Tyler Montain: 751 TPE 3. Daymond Brooks: 701 TPE Takeaway: Austin has a badass player in Tyler Montain, but he comes up short amid two hard hitting ships on the Chicago roster. Linebacker Advantage: Austin +653 TPE Players: 1. Mike Hockhertz: 750 TPE 2. Mack Arianlacher: 720 TPE 3. Griffin Porter: 608 TPE 4. Honda Edmond: 597 TPE 5. Juan Domine: 522 TPE Takeaway: Hell yeah, another position Austin has the advantage in. They have the roster depth as well as the overall older players on average. Cornerback Advantage: Chicago +62 TPE Players: 1. Osiris Firestorm-Fjord: 906 TPE 2. Dermot Lavelle Jr: 835 TPE 3. Colt Mendoza: 807 TPE 4. Tyler Oles Jr: 776 TPE 5. Tyron Shields: 681 TPE 6. Lesean Paris Crooks: 659 TPE Takeaway: Almost an even spread at the cornerback position. All the players in this list appear to be high earners, but Chicago was able eek by with an advantage. Safety Advantage: Chicago +4 TPE Players: 1. Hamish MacAndrew: 745 TPE 2. Gregor Macgregor: 589 TPE 3. Maverick Bowie: 531 TPE 4. Raphael d’Alcott: 379 TPE Takeaway: D’Alcott, don’t know that he’s insane? Don’t you wanna move up in Chicago roster tonight? Move up in the roster toniiiight. Kicker/Punter Advantage: Chicago +309 TPE Players: 1. Sam Sidekick: 615 TPE 2. Pseudo QB: 306 TPE Takeaway: Sam Sidekick the main super hero in this matchup. Both kickers are from S22, but Sam comes in at double the TPE. Overall, you can total each team’s points in two ways. You can simply add the total amount of TPE each roster has accumulated as shown: Chicago Total: 16,760 TPE Austin Total: 14,346 TPE Or you can total up the amount of advantage points each team has: Advantage Points: Chicago: +4750 TPE Austin: +2336 TPE I’m not sure when exactly these teams play each other on the schedule, but if they played week 1; Chicago has a +2414 TPE advantage over Austin. It’s clear that Austin’s main focus seems to be on defense, but they have a lot of older players that don’t appear to be very active in obtaining TPE. Chicago came out ahead in all but two positions.
