*ISFL Week 2: Roster Comparison - ALL TEAMS - platanocat - 10-06-2020 Tomorrow is Week 2 in ISFL. Some teams are reveling in their early playoff runs while others are preparing their rebuild speeches. I decided to take the rosters for each team from the TPE Tracker and compare them to their Week 2 opponents. None of this really matters since we all know the sim just does whatever the hell it wants but whatever, it’s fun to pretend like I know what I’m doing. Plat for HO. First matchup between Philadelphia and Austin is going to be a close one. I’d like to say it’ll come down to field goals but even the kickers are almost at the same level. Philadelphia has the better quarterback, running backs, and tight ends. Maybe they can pull a win off? Colorado Yeti at Chicago Butchers Quarterback Advantage: Chicago +37 TPE Players: 1. Chicago has the better team on paper. With even quarterbacks, kickers, and the defense a shuffle; Chicago should put a lot of weight towards leaning on their huge wide receiver advantage. Kickers are people too, but holy moly Honolulu. You might as well just try to kick 60+ yard field goals on every drive. As long as Honolulu’s defense keeps New Orleans further than 10 yards out of the endzone, they could probably keep Juke Thomason from scoring at all. Orange County Otters at New York Silverbacks Quarterback Advantage: Orange County +227 TPE Players: 1. Suleiman Ramza: 798 TPE 2. After a devastating loss for New York at home against their sibling team, the Firelizards; I don’t think the mighty Silverbacks have a chance in hell. Orange County is an established organization, and their TPE advantage will be on full display on Wednesday night. Arizona Outlaws at San Jose Sabercats Quarterback Advantage: Arizona +407 TPE Players: 1. Jay Cue: 1241 TPE 2. Monterey “Monty” Jack: 834 TPE Running Back Advantage: San Jose +760 TPE Players: 1. Do these teams hate each other? I’m like… pretty sure these teams hate each other. Arizona has a huge advantage on paper, but these are established rosters. I could see this one being an upset this week and people getting temporarily kicked from gen-chat. Berlin Fire Salamanders at Sarasota Sailfish Quarterback Advantage: Sarasota +29 TPE Players: 1. A slightly closer matchup between Sarasota and Berlin compared to New York and Orange County. Again though, we have a stacked roster in Sarasota against a brand new team. I don’t expect many surprises from this game. Baltimore Hawks at Yellowknife Wraiths Quarterback Advantage: Baltimore +72 TPE Players: 1. Chika Fujiwara: 956 TPE 2. Colby Jack: 884 TPE Running Back Advantage: Yellowknife +875 TPE Players: 1. Mathias Hanyadi: 956 TPE 2. Acura Skyline: 855 TPE 3. Mai Fukushu: 510 TPE 4. Now, I typically love Baltimore teams and try to pick them whenever possible. The Hawks versus the Wraiths is set up to be a massacre though. Yellowknife has the highest TPE advantage of any other team playing in Week 2. Will the Hawks pull off an astounding upset? If the Orioles are anything to go by… probably not. Thanks for reading <3 If you have a request for a roster comparison, please DM me on discord @platanocat, on the ISFL Server, or the London Royals Server. Word Count: 2767 RE: ISFL Week 2: Roster Comparison - ALL TEAMS - Baron1898 - 10-06-2020 As before, this is somewhat hilarious. Still picking the Hahalua to pull out the win though. |
