*The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - OrbitingDeath - 10-07-2020 The Season 26 Draftees (so far) For the DSFL we saw 60 players getting drafted, but this of course will not be the entire ISFL draft class as up to this moment we also have six players who have been claimed of waivers. So currently there will be a 66 player deep draft. Let's have a look at the class of draftees. For this time I will be looking at Position Switches / Position Depth and TPE Rankings (biggest risers and hardest fallers). Position Switches All the draft interviews that were done with me had one major recurring theme, a position switch. While being a sim league veteran I had never experienced this yet. So now the first update round has passed I was curious how many people actually did make a switch. I don’t have data on how many people actually were asked for a switch, but seven prospects in total (including me, who was actually happy to be able to switch it up) in the end made the switch. We had the following changes happen: Cobra Kai from CB to RB Pope Francis from KP to DE Caven McRae from TE to S Akil Ozymandias from TE to RB Byakuya Togami from OL to DE Bismo Funyuns from CB to WR Moe Skeeter from DE to S In a class with a lot of wide receivers already, the biggest surprise here probably is the switch from Bismo Funyuns, adding another Wide Receiver to the big amount that there were already there. Is it a smart choice and how does he rank up to the other receivers. We will look into this later. TPE Rankings For the TPE rankings I will split it in three sections, defense, offense and overall. The positions will have a small summary about the draft class, while the overall rankings will include more information per player where I find it applicable. Defense Cornerback Slurms McKenzie - Dallas Birddogs - 10th overall - 103 tpe Shaq Shack - Norfolk Seawolves - 59th overall - 55 tpe H.H. Hopkins - Kansas City Coyotes - 43th overall - 50 tpe Bruce Brucie - Minnesota Grey Ducks - Waiver - 50 tpe Royce Anderson - Norfolk Seawolves - 55th overall - 50 tpe In the cornerback class we see little suprirses in terms of draft ranking. Slurms McKenzie is the obvious highest selection here as the other four still have a lot of ground to catch up. Defensive End Ernest Lover - London Royals - 8th overall - 184 tpe Makoto Otawara - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 17th overall - 148 tpe Byakuya Togami - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 28th overall - 92 tpe Dimitrius Rogers - Norfolk Seawolves - 47th overall - 69 tpe Demon Jaxson - Portland Pythons - Waiver - 65 tpe Pope Francis - Dallas Birddogs - 42nd overall - 64 tpe Pope Francis is currently still lower as waiver pickup Demon Jaxson and Dimitrius Rogers who was picked shortly after him. But he is active in the locker room so I see the Pope still making some strides here once he has settled to his new position. Defensive Tackle Redbeard McFredbeard - Kansas City Coyotes - 19th overall - 111 tpe Primo Berto - Dallas Birddogs - 34th overall - 84 tpe Ben Siegel - London Royals - 48th overall - 65 tpe The defensive tackles all went in the order that they should go tpe wise. Not much to add here. Linebackers Vincent Jones - Tijuana Luchadores - 14th overall - 169 tpe Bambam McMullet - Tijuana Luchadores - 6th overall - 156 tpe Leonard Taylor - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 4th overall - 150 tpe Big Slammu - Dallas Birddogs - 18th overall - 144 tpe A.J Lucas - Kansas City Coyotes - 11th overall - 116 tpe Erik Kirkland - Dallas Birddogs - 26th overall - 115 tpe Logan Sarrasin - London Royals - 24th overall - 97 tpe Ty Tyson - Portland Pythons - 49th overall - 74 tpe Jackson Maine - Kansas City Coyotes - waiver - 67 tpe Chet Larson - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - waiver - 67 tpe The linebackers are a bigger class already, so here we could be in for some surprises. Vincent Jones is currently leading the class jumping over the first round selections of McMullet and Taylor. Big Slammu also jumped a spot compared to his draft ranking as he surpasses Lucas, while Kirkland jumped over Sarrasin. Safety Dogwood Maple - Norfolk Seawolves - 7th overall - 166 tpe Derek Wildstar - Kansas City Coyotes - 3rd overall - 161 tpe Moe Skeeter - Portland Pythons - 21st overall - 148 tpe Caven McRae - London Royals - 32nd overall - 101 tpe Evan Jones - Portland Pythons - 29th overall - 74 tpe Tony Bull - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 60th overall - 50 tpe The first round selections Dogwood Maple and Derek Wildstar are really close in tpe. Both Skeeter and McRae switched positions to safety after the draft, so its unfair to say at this point that McRae jumped over Jones, as the Pythons might have drafted for position here. But we will see in the future how this battle will go. Offense Offensive Line Richard Littlewood - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 12th overall - 183 tpe Alexander Franklin - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 9th overall - 152 tpe Laxus Dreyar - Kansas City Coyotes - 35th overall - 86 tpe Maiteers Rico-Shea - Tijuana Luchadores - 30th overall - 77 tpe Jack Cobb - Tijuana Luchadores - 54th overall - 50 tpe No big surprises for the Offensive Line as Franklin and Littlewood, they were drafted close to eachother, but Littlewood does edge out Franklin on tpe. These two have quite a lead over the rest of the Offensive Line class, so going into the draft I expect it will go between the two of them to become the first OL to be selected. Kicker / punter Gluteus Maximus - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 33rd overall - 118 tpe Something McDerpants - London Royals - 41th overall - 106 tpe Nothing out of the ordinary for the kickers and punters. They are ranked just as the teams expected them too. Tight End Jaja Ding Dong - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 27th overall - 156 tpe Tom Teboat - Norfolk Seawolves - 31st overall - 131 tpe Owmy Back - Kansas City Coyotes - 56th overall - 54 tpe Ding Dong versus Teboat will be the Tight End battle to watch. Drafted close to eachother Jaja Ding Dong has still a good lead over Teboat, but he definitely can’t be count out of this battle yet. Running Back Cobra Kai - Dallas Birddogs - 2nd overall - 173 tpe Mr Forty-Two - Norfolk Seawolves - 15th overall - 168 tpe Akil Ozymandias - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 20th overall - 134 tpe Big Chungus - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 44th overall - 77 tpe Rocky Jackman - Portland Pythons - 53rd overall - 67 tpe Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms - Dallas Birddogs - Waiver - 50 tpe The running back class looked to be for grabs for Mr Forty Two going into the draft. But after both Cobra Kai and Akil Ozymandias switched to the running back position it could be a good battle on the top. Waiver pickup Sirdsvalid Miglasķēms still need to get running in order to battle for the best of the rest spot which is currently held by Big Chungus. Quarterback Lebron James III - Portland Pythons - 5th overall - 146 tpe Ryan Negs - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 1st overall - 122 tpe Emi Rune - Norfolk Seawolves - Waiver - 57 tpe Despite going first overall Ryan Negs is not the leading quarterback at the moment. This is in hands of Lebron James III of the Portland Pythons. Also a first round selection we can expect a nice battle between the two of them. We can not count out Emi Rune yet, as the player has returned to remain active in this league. So we can expect them to keep growing throughout the season. Wide Receiver Raphael Delacour - Norfolk Seawolves - 23rd overall - 166 tpe Tugg Speedman - London Royals - 16th overall - 149 tpe Mario Messi - Portland Pythons - 37th overall - 149 tpe Arthur Naught - Kansas City Coyotes - 13th overall - 148 tpe Quavious McGrady - Tijuana Luchadores - 22nd overall - 115 tpe Schumi Hulkenvettel - London Royals - 40th overall - 98 tpe Jalen Washington - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 25th overall 92 tpe Bismo Funyuns - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 36th overall - 76 tpe Tater Tosser - Kansas City Coyotes - 51th overall - 62 tpe Julian Jurevicius - Tijuna Luchadores - 46th overall - 62 tpe John Smith - Dallas Birddogs - 58th overall - 57 tpe Dick Grayson - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 45th overall - 57 tpe Johnathan Smith - Portland Pythons - 57th overall - 57 tpe Johnny Football - Dallas Birddogs - 50th overall - 50 tpe Joey Brady - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - 52nd overall - 50 tpe Lalo Salamanca - Norfolk Seawolves - 39th overall - 50 tpe Kemorian Moore -Tijuna Luchadores - 38th overall - 50 tpe The biggest class of the season 26 draftees is the Wide Receiver class. With 17 prospects included it will be a nice battle. If you look at the current list you see Delacour with a great lead. But the biggest surprise might still come, as one of the 50 tpe prospects had not updated yet for the last round of updates. Lalo Salamanca has been keeping his updates silent and will jump straight into the top 2 next week. A great pickup for the Seawolves at 39th overall, as the pick after him was an 98 tpe receiver, an amount Salamanca will certainly jump over by a lot. The trio of Speedman, Messi and Naught are all really close to eachother, but Messi definitly looks like a steam here being picked 37th, while his competitors went 13th and 16th. Bismo Funyuns, the player who switched to wide receiver is currently listed 8th at 76 tpe. So you see the pick of Myrtle Beach is as good as justified, however they could have picked Messi at the same spot, but perhaps Funyuns was the better locker room fit. Biggest Jump / Hardest Fall For this segment we unfortunately wont include the waiver claims, but we will see which prospects are the highest risers in the class tpe wise compared to their draft position. Biggest Jump Mario Messi - Portland Pythons - 37th overall - 13th in tpe totals (+24) Jaja Ding Dong - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 27th overall - 9th in tpe totals (+18) Raphael Delacour - Norfolk Seawolves - 23rd overall - 7th in tpe totals (+16) Something McDerpants - London Royals - 41st overall - 28th in tpe totals (+13) A shared spot between Richard Littlewood, Vincent Jones, Mr Forty Two, Tom Teboat, Gluteus Maximus and Rocky Jackman who all have risen 10 spots compared to their draft ranking Hardest Fall Ryan Negs - Minnesota Grey Ducks - 1st overall, 22nd in tpe totals (-22) Slurms Mckenzie - Dallas Birddogs - 10th overall, 29th in tpe totals (-19) Kemorian Moore - Tijuana Luchadores - 38th overall, 57th in tpe totals (-19) Lalo Salamanca - Norfolk Seawolves - 39th overall, 57th in tpe totals (-18) H. H. Hopkins - Kansas City Coyotes - 43rd overall, 57th in tpe rankings (-14) As you see the hardest fall is a ranking that is definitly subject to change, Salamanca was covered before and he would likely be on the #1 spot for the biggest jump if his update is processed. RE: The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - zeagle1 - 10-07-2020 Great article! (I'm not just saying that because Portland got the biggest steal of the draft) RE: The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - huck24 - 10-07-2020 Great read! Really looking forward to seeing how our draft class progresses! RE: The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - OrbitingDeath - 10-07-2020 (10-07-2020, 09:31 AM)zeagle1 Wrote: Great article! After next updates it will probably be Norfolk with Salamanca ![]() I'll make an update of this later in the season. RE: The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - Bayley - 10-07-2020 Hey @OrbitingDeath nice article, nice to meet you and see you around the boards. I love what you have been doing. You are a great prospect! RE: The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - C9Van - 10-07-2020 Cant say I'm still worried. I killed it for Myrtle Beach when I barely had TPE, I owned in prospect tournament and I had all 4 offensive POG's for Norfolk's pre-season and my final build is actually insanely strong. Down for competition though. Get well soon RE: The Season 26 Draftees (so far) - Ben - 10-07-2020 Looks like picking the top two earning linebackers in the draft with our first two picks was a good decision as a team who just lost four linebackers. Can't imagine what else we would do with those picks |
