*Who is Jonathan Shuffleboard - mee - 10-15-2020 The Tijuana Lunchadores have signed Jonathan Shuffleboard off post-draft waivers. He quickly accumulated himself to the defense and played in an intense doubleheader, where the Lunchadores went 1-1, earning their first win of the season against the Dallas Birdogs. But we did not get a chance to introduce you to Jonathan himself, and that's what this article is going to concentrate on. The young Jonathan has a second version of himself. That alternate version goes by Johnny. Johnny plays hockey. Johnny is a member of the Vancouver Whalers in the SHL. But here we have Jonathan, who is the football version. A quick speedy safety with good hands and intelligence there are a lot of ways the two Shuffleboards can be compared. Alas, this would not be the time nor the place for such an article. Rather I, Dale Murphy, will ask Jonathan a whole slew of questions, and we will see what he has to say about the Lunchadores, football and Mexico. DM: Hey there, I'm Dale Murphy from Tijuana, and I'm here with Jonathan Shuffleboard, the newest and youngest member of the Tijuana Lunchadores JS: Pleasure to be here. DM: Jonathan, you are jumping in here after the preseason, the fans want to know what kind of player they are getting. JS: They should look me up online. (laughs) I'm an fast little safety. It looks like I'm going to be playing a bit more strong safety, at least to start my career in Tijuana. That doesn't really line up with my skill set, I'm a bit small to be playing in the box, but I always play and hit hard so there is no doubt in my mind I'll be up to the task. DM: How can you help this team? JS: I believe they had a bot playing strong safety. I'm pretty sure I can improve on that, even playing slightly out of position. DM:Are there any difficulties having missed training camp and the preseason? JS: It is pretty strange. Being a rookie you expect the guys to know each other before, but you also expect there to be a crew of guys like you, new to the team. Now that isn't here. But the team has been very helpful, and the pranks haven't been too bad. Now that I said that I have a nice target on my head though. DM: Any specific teammates helping? JS: Screw you, I'm not giving anybody a free shoutout. (laughs) Nah, everybody is helping, the guys are great. DM: What do you have to say about being in Tijuana? JS: I'm happy that they wanted me, hard to complain about that. I can't really say I expected to end up outside of the USA in both the DSFL and the SMJHL, but I'll gladly play for whoever wants me.  DM: TACO JS: TACO GOOD. By the way, Dale, do you know what a lunchador is? DM: I think a wrestler JS: No, silly Dale. A Lunchador is a taco. DM: What? JS: It's right in the name. Lunch is always a taco. Dor in portuguese is pain. Because it is painful to not have tacos for lunch. DM: So I take you have been enjoying our world famous tacos here, correct? JS: Oh ya! They have been amazing, and I look forward to my next one, which will be immediately following the conclusion of this interview. DM: So anything to tell the fans? JS: GO LUNCHADORES! We will play our hearts out for you, and you just keep supporting us for the back end.  DM: Thank you for your time Jonathan.
