Growing up in central Minnesota, Rich Triplet has some mixed memories of Halloween. Unlike a lot of states, Minnesota typically starts winter in mid-late November. Some years winter likes to start a little early, Rich still has memories of snow on the ground while he walked around in his ninja costumes. Red, Blue, and Black three years in a row. Moving to Tijuana has been great for Rich and he’s learned a lot about the Mexican Halloween traditions. Less spooky and more festive, but as Christmas is Rich’s favorite holiday, he has no objections. Trying to connect more with the fans Rich Triplet has been spotted in the streets of Tijuana celebrating Día de Muertos or the Day of the Dead. Out in parades and dressing up in the appropriate garments celebrating the dead as is tradition. When asked about the culture change Rich is on record in saying, “While it’s a lot different than how I did it as a kid. I think it’s more fun, more community based and less how much candy can I get ya know? Plus, the weather is a lot nicer in Tijuana than in Minnesota.” However, while the holiday it’s self has changed Rich still enjoys watching scary series after practice, and makes sure to send some Mexican candy back home to the states for his parents to give to the neighborhood kids.

Being a penguin, Adelie de Pengu has never really been one to celebrate human holidays. In fact he had been completely unaware of human holidays until quite recently when he was asked what he was going to do for Halloween. He was immediately enamored by the idea of getting to dress up and go around collecting free candy. It didn't take him long to settle on a costume choice as there was only one person that Adelie could ever dream of being for Halloween. Skipper from the Penguins of Madagascar. Skipper was everything you could ask for as a young penguin. An absolutely role model. Smart, decisive, and forward thinking. In Adelie's mind, he had set the stage for the life of a penguin among human civilization. Often when Adelie was confused by a problem, he'd ask "What would Skipper do?". Adelie was quite starstruck by the snazzy penguin. So Adelie got his costume and decided to attend the yearly Yeti costume party. Many others were dressed up as monsters and ghouls, but that didn't bother Adelie at all. Any who knew anything about this particular penguin knew that they did not feel fear. Instead, Adelie spent the entire party playing pranks on his teammates and munching on free candy. He put both the trick and the treat into Trick or Treat. It was all good times for Adelie and got him excited to see what human holidays awaited him in the future since his first was such a blast.

Halloween is a bit of a touchy subject for Doy Fieri. When he was three years old, Doy's parents let him watch the all-time Halloween film, Ernest Scared Stupid. Even though the comedy stylings of Jim Varney resonate with all ages, the evil trolls not only scared Ernest, but also scared young Doy. From that point on, every time October 31st rolled around he would come down with a horrible case of anxiety. This led Fieri to be bullied as a child, as his classmates thought it was funny that he thought that gremlins and goblins were real. Where kids in other neighborhoods might smash pumpkins or toiler paper houses on Halloween, the kids in Doy's neighborhood instead played a game called, "Dunk the Doy" where they would find him and shove his head in a jack-o-lantern and play the theme from the film Halloween, and then laugh at him while he would run home and typically pee his pants.

That all changed when Doy grew into a 6'2 230 pound 15 year old. The Halloween of his sophomore year of high school, Doy turned it around on his tormenters, and tormented all of his classmates while chasing them around while wearing a Jack-O-Lantern helmet and a wrestling singlet. Every Halloween since, Fieri has worn the same costume that makes him look like a mix between Andre the Giant and the Headless Horseman, and goes trick-or-treating, to make up for the fact that he never got the chance to trick-or-treat as a child.

Growing up Gary’s family was VERY into Halloween, growing up on a farm the family made sure to plant plenty of Pumpkins for the festive season. All of the Goodman boys would go out into the field and pick out their very own pumpkin to carve. Then the family would vote on which pumpkin was the most creative, needless to say Gary never won one contest. Gary isn’t the most creative guy but he tries his best. Now that he is in Baltimore he doesn’t have a chance to make it back for the pumpkin carving contest, but he will still compete via a video call. He plans on submitting a Hawks logo for the win!

The family would also host a haunted corn maze for the local families to come enjoy. He may not have been creative at pumpkin carving but with his size and speed he definitely played a great werewolf every year in the corn maze scaring families. Again, not being able to make it home this year Gary decided to donate some Hawks gear to the family to hand out to deserving children in the area. As much as Gary loves to TRICK during the Halloween season this year he’s definitely leaning more towards TREAT.

Growing up, Zee Rechs wasn’t really big into Halloween because he hated dressing up, and he definitely hates scary movies. It’s pretty ironic that a big, burly dude who puts on a uniform hates dressing up in a costume and scary movies, right? That changed quite a bit when Zee was drafted by Yellowknife and moved up there. Besides getting used to the much colder temperature, Halloween is a big deal there, and especially to a team named the Wraiths! Zee felt a lot of pressure to get into the Halloween spirit and participate in all the Halloween festivities, so he gave in and found that he actually enjoyed it! Zee is a huge Star Wars fan, so most of his recent costumes have all been Star Wars characters of some kind. This year Zee is The Mandalorian, and he put a ton of time and effort into making his costume just right. His flamethrower turned out to be a little too realistic and regrettably had to get rid of it or risk setting someone on fire. Zee considered Chewbacca, but that’s just a tad too close to being a Furry for Zee’s taste. He is really looking forward to handing out candy to the kids (just don’t expect any Reese’s cause Zee already ate them all.) Scary movies are still definitely off the table, though!

Brick Van Sanzos absolute favorite holiday is halloween. When Brick was a young boy his grandma always insisted that he trick or treat in her neighborhood. Bricks grandma was a very spiritual and superstitious woman so it almost always was more exciting to be around her for all hallows eve.

Bricks grandma loved to decorate the house and the yard and always got into the festivities with costumes and halloween movies and spookie halloween cassettes.

Bricks Grandma is gone now but every single halloween Brick will lay out the traditions just like his grandma did when he was a child, Carefully taping the paper vampire and skeleton to the closet doors in the hallway. Making sure to hang the funny looking ghost that makes the weird noise with a sensor in the hall, not too close to the walking path that it goes off everytime he passes by but just close enough that if he strays it will make him jump.

Dusting off the old cassettes and Jamming out to the monster mash, This halloween like every halloween will be a chance for Brick to try and talk to his grandma again.

As always Brick is hoping to spot a black cat in the street out front of his house and he knows if he decorates well enough he will see that Black cat and be able to say "See Grandma, Not everything changes!"
