*Waiver-Eligible Prospects to Watch - thecanadiancanuck - 10-30-2020 [1106 words, ready for grading] With the trade deadline quickly approaching, this means that the newest crop of ISFL future players will be eligible to temporarily join DSFL teams as part of the waiver process. I thought I'd take a quick look at some of them for each position. Running Back Xander Creed College: Colorado Height: 5'10" Weight: 210 lbs Type: Speed Back Creed excels in the speed game, possessing explosiveness out of the backfield with a Speed grade of 82 at first look. He also is pretty shifty, with an Agility grade of 55 which is pretty good for a rookie. The biggest question marks for Xander Creed are going to be his physicality, as his blocking skills leave something to be desired, and his usefulness as a pass-catching back. He could be very effective returning kicks in the ISFL. Wide Receiver Preston Parker College: Southern Mississippi Height: 6'2" Weight: 215 lbs Type: Route Runner Preston Parker is a classic outside receiver, excelling in speed and agility. With his hands rated at a 60/90 going into the draft season, he'll be a consistent target for any quarterback. The main area for him to develop is in physical strength, as he's had trouble getting off press coverage at times in college. Tsuyu Asui College: Kentucky Height: 6'2" Weight: 185 lbs Type: Possession Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Tsuyu Asui projects to be a great option in the passing game. With his speed rated at 72/90 and his hands at 72/100, Asui is sure-handed and has the skills to be a smart option in the short-to-mid passing game. If Asui keeps developing, he could become a lethal slot receiver. Eleven Kendrick-Watts College: Northwestern Height: 6'6" Weight: 250 lbs Type: Red Zone Thread Watch out for this man in scoring position. Kendrick-Watts is a monster - at his size he's pretty much a TE lined up wide. Despite this, he's no slowpoke, with his speed rated at a 74/90 going into the draft. QBs love a big-bodied target that can go up and get those jump balls and box out DBs, and Kendrick-Watts fits the mold perfectly. Heaven help the poor corner who has to cover this man. Tight End Corey Steadman College: Texas State Height: 6'4" Weight: 232 lbs Type: Vertical Threat Steadman fits the bill for any team looking for a reliable dual-threat TE who can catch and block well. With his speed rated at 67/90, Corey Steadman isn't the fastest guy on the field, but his hands rated at 67/80 ensure that he'll catch what's thrown at him. Steadman's blocking skills are pretty decent, and how he turns out could really depend on how a team decides to use him. James Wilkinson College: Clemson Height: 6'6" Weight: 265 lbs Type: Balanced In contrast to Steadman, James Wilkinson brings the beef to the offense as one of the biggest players in this draft class. While he hasn't showed a particular affinity for any one thing, Wilkinson pretty much did it all for Clemson, serving as both a pass-catching receiver and a sixth blocker where needed and did pretty well at both.  Defensive Line Fergus Callaghan Jr. College: Montana State Height: 6'3" Weight: 310 lbs Type: Run Stuffer Big defensive tackles who eat up the middle of the field are hard to come by, but Callaghan fits the bill. With his strength already rated at a 73/95, he's a threat that offensive lines will have to be very careful of. With his speed also rated at 55/75, the Montana State tackle has the ability to get off the line of scimmage fast and collapse the pocket. Pair him with a solid edge rusher and teams could have a great combo on their hands. Linebacker Duke Cheeks College: Georgia Height: 6'5" Weight: 255 lbs Type: Speed Rusher The first of two pass rushers created so far, Cheeks opts for the speed option to get after the quarterback, with his speed already rated at a frightening 78/90. The Georgia product relies on his speed and agility to beat tackles around the corner and create pressure on offenses to get the ball out quick. Cheeks will need to work on his strength and pass-rushing repertoire as opposing offenses get more tape on him, but there's a lot to like already. Kevin Morrison College: Ohio State Height: 6'4" Weight: 255 lbs Type: Power Rusher As opposed to Cheeks, Ohio State product Kevin Morrison opts to rush the pass rusher with his size and power, with his strength rated at a 72/90 and his tackling at a 70/95. Morrison relies on physically overpowering opposing linemen to get pressure on the quarterback, and with 65/80 speed he's fast enough to force the offense to rely on quick-hitting options. He'll need to work on his agility and pass-rushing moves to deal with the bigger and stronger tackles at the ISFL level, but he shows a lot of promise. Cornerbacks HeHateMe PickSixII College: Greendale Community College Height: 6'3" Weight: 200 lbs Type: Zone The interestingly named PickSixII is the son of the former San Jose Sabercats corner of the same name, and excels with his hands and intelligence. PickSixII is great at reading plays and positioning himself in the right places, and he'll only get better with more development. Kita Chiasa College: UCLA Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 lbs Type: Man to Man Chiasa is much more of a lockdown cornerback than PickSixII, and with 73/100 speed he already has the skillset to be effective. There's a lot to like about Kita Chiasa's build, as his agility and hands will let him be an effective shutdown player. As with many prospects in this draft, Chiasa should be extremely effective once he has more DSFL seasoning. Lawrence Miller College: Michigan State Height: 6'1" Weight: 210 lbs Type: All-Around The Canadian product Lawrence Miller is a very well-rounded cornerback, excelling in all areas for Michigan State. While there are some concerns about Miller's tackling ability and it's only rated as a 45/80 going into draft season, that can be coached up and Miller will be effective in any role as a corner. Special Teams Vernal Bloodshine College: Middle Tennessee State Height: 6'2" Weight: 175 lbs Type: Accurate There's not too much to say about kickers and punters, but Bloodshine is an excellent option who can play both positions well. While DSFL teams might like to see a bigger leg from him, Bloodshine's accuracy is great already and puts him in a great spot to start his career.
