*Captain Rogers: Homecoming - TeyonSchavari - 11-13-2020
Many of you probably know the story of Captain Rogers. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he was a scrappy kid with a big heart. When he was given the super soldier serum that changed his life forever, he even performed his first heroic action in the city of New York, saving a child and preventing a member of Hydra from escaping. After fighting against the threat of the Nazis and Hydra during WWII, Rogers made a grand sacrifice by putting an aircraft carrying weapons of mass destruction into the ice of the polar caps, presumably taking his own life in the process.
However, he was preserved in the ice, and after being found and thawed out, he discovered he was in a new world. There was no war - freedom reigned supreme. Struggling to come to terms with who he was as a person, Captain Rogers turned to football to release his fighting spirit onto the gridiron.
Since becoming a rising star on the field, Rogers still struggled mentally. He was a man out of place in his time; a man who suffered great losses yet still was attempting to rise above. He moved around a lot since joining the ISFL - first in his developmental team in Norfolk, to Baltimore after being drafted in the ISFL, and finally to Philadelphia during his first season in the big leagues. He always felt as though he wasn't quite home.
In an effort to regain familiarity with himself and finally find his place in this world, Captain Rogers has decided that he will be going back to his hometown of New York City after testing out the waters of free agency. Rogers believes that coming back to where he started is the best way for him to finally find peace with himself. Captain Rogers will continue his career as a Silverback and is excited to join a new up and coming team!
