Also, if I have you as semi-active or inactive, I am basing it on how much TPE you've earned in the last month or so.  If you're active but not updating, don't get mad at me, maybe do an activity check or something.

Team needs: QB, DE/DT, CB, S, K/P

Baltimore is a team that has almost all of the pieces it needs on offense, besides maybe an heir to Chika Fujiwara, but for now that is a want, not a need.  Everyone else on the Hawks’ offense is young and active, besides Mathias Hanyadi, but they have a fairly active RB in the minors in Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems ready to come up.  If he doesn’t improve this season, they might try to replace him next year, but for now, he should have a chance to prove himself.  On defense, they have two rookies starting, but they’re also still starting Matt Hole, who’s been MIA for months.  He’s easily replaceable, should be replaced before he starts getting worse, and he could be replaced immediately by a high-earning rookie.  Then in the secondary, they have two aging pieces who may be close to the end of the line in Walt Green and Dermot Lavelle Jr., along with an inactive Cadillac Harris, and IHeart Syracuse who hasn’t added any TPE in more than a month.  They only have one guy in the secondary ready to come up, so stockpiling at least one more person for the next draft seems like a good idea.  And while kicker isn’t a dire need, Datsum Phastbawls was one of the worst in the league last year, and he isn’t improving, so if one is available, Baltimore should look there.

Team needs: RB, LB, S

The Fire Salamanders are mostly solid on offense.  Their current guys are young and just need some time to grow, and even if they don’t, they have some young receivers who are active who can replace them.  The only problem there is at running back, where Danny King has been woefully inconsistent with his updating.  So maybe a new young back behind Joseph Petrongolo would be a good idea.  Their defense though is another story.  The D-line is solid, but maybe they could use a fourth guy, just to make the team more versatile.  But what they really need is a new linebacker and safety.  They only have three linebackers on their roster, and one of them has been out of commission for a month and a half.  With no active developmental linebackers on their payroll, this should be addressed soon.  And at safety, it’s even worse.  They only have Benoit Blanco, who’s also been gone for a month and a half.  With CB Asher Quinn starting to show his age, they might be able to pick up a safety to go alongside the currently developing Derek Wildstar, so they don’t have to play a corner out of position anymore.

Chicago is set up to be one of the teams to beat for the next few years, and all they really need to worry about are depth moves and eventual replacements.  The Butchers are in the same position as Baltimore at quarterback: starting an S21 with no current next man up.  The rest of the team though is all the way set, so if they want to go quarterback early, they could do that.  The only other positions they should address are wide receiver, where both Sean O’Leary and Bender B. Rodriguez are in decline and Griff Oberwald isn’t adding any new points, and linebacker, where they can replace the non-updating Mike Hockhertz.

Colorado currently has only five active skill position players active and updating, so they’re going to be running those guys on every single play.  It might be wise to draft a third receiver, just so they don’t tire out those five guys.  Inspectah Deck is a player who could get nudged out of his starting spot, considering he’s sub-500 TPE, inactive, and staring down the barrel of regression, so linebacker is a big need for them.  But their biggest need is at corner, where Randy Vuxta is one year away from regression (and not updating all the time), while Louisiana Purchase is already neck deep in it.  With no defenders at all in the pipeline, they’ll need to address this by next season.

Philadelphia is in a freefall right now, and can almost go for the best player available in the upcoming draft.  Both of their running backs in regression and sporadic at best with their updating.  Avon Blocksdale Jr. hasn’t improved in five months.  On defense, it’s gotten so bad that they’ve had to call up three rookies (Sam Roes, Brent Silva, and Thomas Rose), each of whom haven't updated in over a month.  They could draft at just about any position on the D and see noticeable improvement, but defensive end and safety should be their top priority.

Sarasota is a team that kinda stumps me for the moment, because a lot of their pipeline players are just active enough to make me think they could be a part of the Sailfish’s future, but also spotty enough to make me wonder if they want to commit to them.  For example, Running Back could easily be replaced, and they have a guy to do it in Big Chungus.  Do they commit to him, even though he has a chance of going ghost?  Same at wide receiver, Rayne Gordon is in his final season, and they could replace him with Quavious McGrady, or they might want someone with a higher ceiling.  It’s tough to say.  At least they’re mostly secure on defense.  Maybe they can try to find an heir for Jamie Nkiah or maybe they could go for a third linebacker, but other than that, they’re good.

Yellowknife has one of the most active locker rooms in the ISFL, and because of that, they have almost no dire needs.  Acura Skyline hasn’t updated in a while, so he could be on the chopping block, but he’s still highly usable in the sim, and his replacement would probably have to wait until his current contract expired at least to get the nod over him, even if he never updates again.  Then on the O-line, they have Maurice Virtanen, who’s getting swallowed up by regression, and it might be worth finding someone to take his spot.  The rest of the team though looks great, and even the inactivity in their linebacker corps can be fixed with their D-League guy.

Arizona has an interesting problem.  They have four very young running backs on their payroll who are all active, and if they’re savvy, they should be able to talk at least one of them into swapping positions to something they need.  For example, Saba Donut is on his last legs, and could be close to retirement.  One of those guys could slip into his current spot and fill his shoes nicely.  If they can do that, then they can focus on their other big need, defensive end, where they are currently starting one guy who hasn’t updated in a month and a half, and another who hasn’t updated in more than five months.  It’s something to work on.  Also, Quad J has only barely done anything in four months, he’s very expendable.

With Easton Cole nearing the end of his road at quarterback, the team is currently in a transitional period, but luckily the rest of the team is in a pretty solid state.  A replacement for the stagnating Kichwa Jones would be nice, as well as either a third receiver or any tight end.  At linebacker, Honda Edmond is about done, and shouldn’t be in their plans for next season.  And although the Copperheads have made at least two attempts to draft a replacement for Pseudo QB, none of them have landed, so maybe third time’s lucky.  Keep in mind that since Easton Cole is still updating like a fiend, he could be a band-aid for one of these positions if they don’t find someone in the next draft.

EDIT: Leo Bloomfield appears to be more active than I thought, so he'll probably be Austin's next kicker.  Or maybe Gluteus?  They also traded for LB Ty Tyson, so could be a fixed hole.

Honolulu is an interesting predicament.  Besides those three team needs, they are absolutely set everywhere else.  But those three spots are so dire, they could need more than one guy at each position.  At wide receiver, they have a regressing Jed Podolak, inactive William Alexander, only updated once since late October Korbin Brown, and inactive and soon-to-be regressing Jacoby Clay.  On the D-line, their most recent update came from 3’ Jeffrey on Halloween.  And at corner, both Jim Waters and Ray-Ray Jackson have missed updates in the last few weeks.  That one’s not as pressing since both are still very much playable, but it’s still something to worry about.

EDIT: Both of their corners seem to be staying active, so now the Hahalua can focus on their two most glaring needs.

Team needs: TE, LB, CB/S, K/P

I struggled to find actual needs for this team.  Yes, New Orleans has one of the oldest rosters in the league, but they already have a lot of replacements already lined up.  Marcella Toriki and Forrest Gump are both in regression, with Gump surely in his final season, but they have Mike Rotchburns and maybe Mr. Forty-Two ready to replace them.  Quenton Bode is one of the oldest players in the league, but they have Vincent Jones waiting in the minors.  There’s only a few players who still need to find their heir apparent.  Specifically Austin McCormick (and that can wait a season or two, even if he doesn’t update again); Ugarth the Dissector; maybe David Rector or Mason Blaylock, although they're both still updating so no rush; and Lefty Louis who is spicy garbage.

Draft picks next season: Own picks, minus their 3rd

K/P Dougie Smalls - S21 - 850 TPE, active
K/P Johnathan Smith - S26 - 74 TPE, inactive

Team needs: TE, LB, CB/S

It’s hard to believe that this is only New York’s second year of existence, because this team is very well put together.  Almost all of the pieces seem to be in place, and the group is very active, if very young.  Give this team like two more seasons, and we could be talking about them as title contenders.  All they really need at the moment is a tight end, a linebacker to replace Holden Summers, and maybe someone in the secondary to replace either Tomage McGullager or Mac Griddle.  Other than that, I really like this Silverback squad.

Draft picks next season: Own picks plus Austin’s 4th, minus their own 3rd

S Bob Bob - S23 - 709 TPE, active
S Grummy Bear - S24 - 225 TPE, active
K/P Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname - S15 - 343 TPE, active

Team needs: WR, OL, CB/S, K/P

Once again, the Otters are one of the most loaded teams in the league, and only need to add depth.  Wide receiver is a very light need, as they have two strong actives at WR, a beastly tight end, and an inactive but still good #2 tight end.  On the offensive line, they have three guys on their roster who are spotty with their updates so they might go there.  Their biggest need is in the secondary, but even then, while both Korrin Abernathy and Tyrone Biggums are steeped in regression, they’re still both highly useful right now, and any future picks here would probably have to wait to see the field in OC.  Finally, while Alex D is still going strong, time will eventually catch up to him, and we may be close to the end of the Alex Longname era in Orange County.

Draft picks next season: Own picks, plus Yellowknife’s 1st and New York’s 3rd, minus their 2nd

S Xmus Flaxon Jaxon-Waxon - S25 - 506 TPE, active
K/P Matthew McDairmid - S22 - 1058 TPE, active

Team needs: OL, DL, LB

The two-time defending champs return one of the most complete rosters in the league, with almost no inactivity and very few holes to speak of.  The offensive line is only a need because they currently have only bots, but they seem to be doing just fine with that set-up.  A new defensive lineman would be very nice to cover for the out of commission Yuuto Kira Cloudera, and Tyron Brackenridge is getting kinda long in the tooth, but is still usable for the time being.  Aside from that, this team is both somehow stacked and young.  Get used to these guys for seasons to come.

EDIT: YCK may be coming back into the fold, so one less thing to worry about drafting, if he sticks with it.

Draft picks next season: All of their own picks

I’ll try to keep this article up to date for the entire season, and account for trades and free agency pickups, that way this can be useful for mock drafters and maybe even draft rooms for the entire season.  Good luck everyone.

Great read Nicky! Definitely shows me just how far behind we are on expansion in this league. Should definitely have at least two more teams in the league right now.

Man I love it when a team whose main Kicker prospect is also DSFL KOTY, but the position is still a team need.

I think 16 teams would be just about perfect for where we are now.

Great insight into the ISFL teams. As a new player, I'm hyped to see what teams might need me!

Chainbreaker isn't on the Wraiths anymore. Hes an unattached LB in DSFL.

Smh, "Calvin Golladay... semi-active."
Completely accurate though

Love the article, very useful and super in-depth too. Also agree how far behind we are on expansion, and with another r/nfl class coming up we may not be able to make any significant change.

Semi active? ?

Quad J is definitely not expendable, he's the glue that keeps Arizona together
