*Hit, Meh, or Bust; A Look Back at S25: Round 1 - zaynzk - 12-26-2020

It has been about 2 seasons since the S25 class heard their names called on draft night, and I want to go through the draft and grade how each team did in the first round of this draft. So with that being said lets take a look at the first round.

HOW I WILL GRADE
As a max earner who went in the 3rd round in my eyes if you have less TPE than me you are not a hit in the draft, so if a player has more than 545 TPE, I will consider them a HIT, if they have less than that I will consider them a MEH, and if they have less than 450 (100 less than a 3rd rounder) I will consider them a Bust

With the First Pick in the draft, The Berlin Fire Salamanders Select Swantavius Jones CB

Swanty is currently 5th in his position in TPE, in a class of stacked CB talent, and while one might question the idea of him not being the top earner in CB, Swanty clearly was drafted for the user rather than the player. He is currently a DSFL HO intern and I the Budgets Head. At 587 TPE, Swanty at 1OA was a HIT

With the Second Pick in the Draft the Yellowknife Wraith select Dan Foster CB

Arkz is another great user and high earner who is also high on the list of S25 CBs. Arks currently holds the league jobs of updater and  Awards Committee head, and is another person who was clearly drafted above their TPE level due to how much Yellowknife loved him as a user. Two seasons later and Arkz is at 590 TPE and in my opinion is a HIT for Yellow Knife

With the Third Pick in the Draft The Philadelphia Liberty select Tex Wrecks DE.

Tex Wrecks had the highest TPE in the whole class on Draft night, and while others have caught up a little, he is still in the top 10 for earners in this class. While 209tacos does not have a league job, he makes all the money he need through GFX. while there might have been a few more players more involved in the league that were drafted later, 209tacos earning at 611 TPE, makes him a clear HIT

With the Forth Pick in the Draft, San Jose Sabercats select Raylen Crowder DE

Asked Madden is an amazing user who i have had the pleasure of sharing a locker room with on the Dallas Birddogs. Madden is another guy who is one of the best earners in the class. He holds two league jobs, one as an Auditor and another as a Media grader. At 612 TPE Madden is another guys who is a clear HIT in this draft class

With the 5th pick in the draft the Colorado Yeti select Albert Ruschmann DE

3 DE going back to back to back is pretty insane, but when you have a users like Katarn still on the board its not surprising Colorodo picked him here. Despite the fact that Katarn never made his pizza podcast or holds a League Job, he is still a top earner in his class at 587 TPE so in my opinion he is still a HIT

With the 6th pick in the Draft the Baltimore Hawks select Felix Archstone OL

Glims is another user who I personally like a lot. The current GM for the Kansas City Coyotes and is the 2nd highest earning O-Line in the S25 class. While he is not at the same levels of TPE of other players in this first round, his skills as a user make him still a valuable pick in this first round with 525 TPE I still view glims as a hit, however he fails to reach the TPE requirement so unfortunately he is currently a MEH

With the 7th pick in the draft the Honolulu Hahalua select Guy Fields LB

2nd highest earning LB in the entire class and with 3 league jobs including one as an HO member, r0tz might be the clearest hit in the draft. r0tz is the only S25 member of HO and holds 3 different jobs on the sim team. He is one of the most important people in this league and usually is the guy who fixes any issues that other people have. With 589 TPE r0tz is an Obvious HIT and is on the list of draft steals despite being a top 10 pick already.

With the 8th pick in the draft The Arizona Outlaws select Tayshawn Crunk S

The first Safety selected in the draft, Crunk is neck and neck for the top TPE earner at his position. Crunk has recently been promoted to Co-GM of the Outlaws which shows you how much the leadership in Arizona likes him. At 603 TPE Crunk is a clear HIT

With the 9th Pick in the draft the Chicago Butchers select James Gath CB

Beefstu was a really cool user who came up with a of cool things for the league in his time here. Unfortunately for Chicago he has not logged onto the site for a month and has not had an update of more than 10 TPE since October. Beefstu is a huge bust for Chicago considering there are 8 CBs in the league who were still on the board and currently have higher TPE than Beef. at 377 TPE, James Gath was a BUST for Chicago.

With the 10th pick in the draft New Orleans Second Line select Medicinal Toblerone OL

A player that everyone knew was going back to NOLA, former GM Juosu banked all her TPE in the DSFL and used it strait away in the ISFL. This player is currently the 2nd highest earner in the entire class and made the swap to DE. with 615 TPE JuOsu is a clear HIT for NOLA

With the 11th pick in the draft the Orange County Otters select Goat Tank DT

GOAT TANK, is the highest earner in this class so OCO probably feel like they got away with robbery getting him at 11. Eldorian is also an Updater for the league and has continued to earn at a stupid high rate. with a crazy high 633 TPE, Goat Tank was a Clear HIT

With the 12th pick in the draft the Sarasota Sailfish select Peter Paterson CB

Slate is another cool user in this league who was predicted to be a top 3 pick in most mock drafts, and fell for reasons. Slate is very active in Stock Tradings and has written alot of media on this subject. He is also an Auditor and another great earner for Sarasota. At 574 TPE Slate is a clear HIT especially when you look at the CB taken 3 picks earlier

With the 13th pick in the draft the New York Silverbacks Select Hank Winchester LB

The fact that a user like TimeConsumer fell this far shows how crazy good this draft class was. A user who has already built two legendary players in this league and who has done so much for this league since its inception, TC is the closest thing to a sure thing you can get in this league, and I know New York was shocked to still get him after trading back. TC is also the only S25 user to make a Pro Bowl so far. At 610 TPE TC is a clear HIT

With the 14th pick in the draft San Jose Sabercats select Rich Triplet CB

The 5th CB selected in this draft, Kotasa had alot to prove. But the player who is now a rookie mentor and top earner has proven to SJS that he was worth the pick. At 615 TPE Kotasa is the top CB earning wise in the class and was a clear HIT

Obviously it has only been a few seasons so there is a chance that this list will change, but for now we have 12 clear hits and only one clear bust, I might do one for the 2nd and 3rd round of this draft eventually (if im up to it this week)

Damn, I didn’t realise beefstu had gone IA. He seemed great during my interactions with him, that’s a shame.
