* Rookie Team of the week: Week 2 - Kristy95 - 08-03-2017

Similar to my other media post, I wanted to shine a spotlight on some rookies and comment on their draft stock. I will keep this briefer than the other one. Again, this is only based on my own opinion but I want to do this for every week! I tried a bit of a shorter version here, I may use that for both team of the week and rookie of the week from now on to make it less work for me!

Rookie team of Week 2:

QB: - (no rookie QB saw the field)
RB: D. Farlane (2), A. Savea (2)
WR: F. North (2), M. Vincent
TE: R. Gucci
OL: A. Charles, G. Tech (2), M. James, S. Finkenlarkin, V. Sharpei

DL: E. Charlton, B. Green (2), B. Blade
LB: D. Maric, P. Tucker, J. Wright, L. Washington (2)
CB: R. Reyes, M. Spector
S: R. Thomas, R. Kronen

K: C. Ronaldo
P: C. Ronaldo (2)
KR: J. Rocket
PR: D. Farlane (2)

Offensive rookie of the week: F. North

Defensive rookie of the week: R. Thomas

Special teams rookie of the week: C. Ronaldo

Rookie of the week: R. Thomas

A bit to each person individually:

RB D. Farlane - 31 rushes, 91 yards, 1 TD

RB A. Savea - 17 rushes, 52 yards, 0 TD

WR F. North - 5 catches, 109 yards, 1 TD

WR M. Vincent - 6 catches, 67 yards, 0 TD

TE R. Gucci - 4 catches, 31 yards, 0 TD

OL A. Charles - 7 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL G. Tech - 5 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

OL M. James - 5 pancakes, 1 sack allowed

OL S. Finkenlarkin - 5 pancakes, 2 sacks allowed

OL V. Sharpei - 3 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

DL E. Charlton - 4 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack

DL B. Green - 7 tackles

DL B. Blade - 4 tackles, 1 sack

LB D. Maric - 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 pass deflection, 1 interception

LB P. Tucker - 7 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 interception

LB J. Wright - 9 tackles, 2 tackles for loss

LB L. Washington - 5 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 sack

CB R. Reyes - 2 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 fumble recovery

CB M. Spector - 6 tackles, 1 pass deflection

S R. Thomas - 5 tackles, 2 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, one TD

S R. Kronen - 3 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

K C. Ronaldo - 3/4 field goals, 2/2 extra points

P C. Ronaldo - 7 punts, 51.3 yard average, 61 yard longest, 1 inside 20

KR J. Rocket - 5 returns for 76 yards, 27 yard longest

PR D. Farlane - 5 returns for 58 yards, 17 longest

Some interesting facts here at the end:

Only three of the players taken in the top ten of the draft appear on this list:

2nd B. Blade
4th V. Sharpei
7th F. North

In contrast to that, seven players drafted above 50 appear on the list:

52th M. Vincent
55th R. Gucci
56th J. Rocket
62nd S. Finkenlarkin
63rd G. Tech
65th D. Maric
85th R. Reyes

A special congratulations to R. Reyes as the highest draft pick on the list this week and a special congratulations to G. Tech to being the only one above draft pick 50 to be in this team both weeks so far!

The teams that appear on this list in week 2:

Baltimore Hawks: 5
Orange County Otters: 5
Philadelphia Liberty: 5
Colorado Yeti: 4
San Jose Sabercats: 2
Arizona Outlaws: 2
Yellowknife Wraiths: 1
Las Vegas Legion: 1

And total for the season so far:

Baltimore Hawks: 12
Orange County Otters: 8
Philadelphia Liberty: 8
Yellowknife Wraiths: 7
Arizona Outlaws: 6
San Jose Sabercats: 5
Colorado Yeti: 5

Just as a quick explanation, when someone was traded, I still count their team as wherever they got drafted, to make this truly about how well teams drafted. So for example James being in this team got Liberty a point. Also, when a player appears twice, like Ronaldo and Farlane, teams get two points since it is two different positions.

TFW O-Lineman who let up multiple sacks make the list over you.

Just value pancakes more personally Smile Both play a role but 5-2 is still better than 2-0 in my eyes. But, its just my opinion, don't worry too much Smile

I'm aware its your opinion, its just flat wrong. Pancakes are flashy, but allowing two sacks is a terrible game.

How is Pest not here. 2 more sacks and 2 more pancakes is a MUCH worse game.

That's what I'm saying. I don't see how a dude with two sacks allowed is on here at all. Insanity.

Nice! Glad I made it. Btw, I had 92 yards - I know, total nitpick. Big Grin

You've been killing it this season so far. Really liked you before the draft, so glad to see you've been doing so well and getting recognized

IMHO 1 sack allowed should be like -4 pancakes.
