*ISFL Week 1 Matchups - platanocat - 01-26-2021

GOOOOD EVENING ISFL PLAYERS!
We have an exciting season about to start what with our shiny new sim, fresh call-ups, and spicy hot strats. I'm going to try my hand again at doing my TPE roster match ups for each week again. It's been a while but I think I have a better handle on it this time. So let's get under way!

ISFL WEEK 1

Yellowknife Wraiths at Chicago Butchers

Quarterback:
Yellowknife: 1252 TPE
Chicago: 1236 TPE

Running Back:
Yellowknife: 1547 TPE

Wide Receiver:
Yellowknife: 2683 TPE
Chicago: 1653 TPE

Tight End:
Yellowknife: 932 TPE
Chicago: 973 TPE

Chicago: 4011 TPE

Defensive End:
Yellowknife: 1447 TPE
Chicago: 986 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Yellowknife: 1476 TPE
Chicago: 2507 TPE

Linebacker:
Yellowknife: 2288 TPE
Chicago: 2636 TPE

Cornerback:
Yellowknife: 2168 TPE
Chicago: 3217 TPE

Safety:
Yellowknife: 1902 TPE
Chicago: 1948 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Yellowknife: 628 TPE
Chicago: 885 TPE

TOTALS:
Yellowknife: 18,320 TPE
Chicago: 22,160 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Chicago +3840 TPE

Comments:
Yellowknife blew away the competition last season, making it all the way to and eventually winning the Ultimus Championship. They must have some serious strategies under the hood to make it look so easy. It seems like defending champions always struggle at least a little bit in the following season. Their very first matchup is against a stacked Chicago roster. Just anecdotally, I took a peek at S27 Season Predictions and most people had Yellowknife as the champions again. I will say though, Chicago had the second most picks to take the championship this year.

Sarasota Sailfish at Colorado Yeti

Wide Receiver:
Sarasota: 2475 TPE
Colorado: 2607 TPE

Tight End:
Sarasota: 1510 TPE
Colorado: 335 TPE

Offensive Line:
Sarasota: 690 TPE
Colorado: 2422 TPE

Defensive End:
Sarasota: 2026 TPE
Colorado: 2196 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Sarasota: 1056 TPE
Colorado: 724 TPE

Linebacker:

Sarasota: 1577 TPE
Colorado: 1787 TPE

Safety:
Sarasota: 2816 TPE
Colorado: 1450 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Sarasota: 887 TPE
Colorado: 607 TPE

TOTALS:
Sarasota: 18,288 TPE
Colorado: 17,137 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Sarasota +1151 TPE

Comments:
This matchup will be one of the closer ones this week. Colorado has the home field advantage while Sarasota is sporting a small but not very important lead in overall TPE. Sarasota was the third most picked S27 Ultimus winner by my eye. They’re going to have to set the example early on and prove that they can win tough matchups even in their week 1 debut.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Berlin Fire Salamanders at Baltimore Hawks

Quarterback:
Berlin: 1224 TPE
Baltimore: 1297 TPE

Running Back:
Berlin: 1310 TPE
Baltimore: 1642 TPE

Wide Receiver:
Berlin: 2169 TPE
Baltimore: 1808 TPE

Tight End:
Berlin: 993 TPE
Baltimore: 1091 TPE

Offensive Line:
Berlin: 1873 TPE
Baltimore: 587 TPE

Defensive End:
Berlin: 1105 TPE
Baltimore: 1573 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Berlin: 1686 TPE
Baltimore: 547 TPE

Linebacker:
Berlin: 1904 TPE
Baltimore: 1615 TPE

Cornerback:
Berlin: 3045 TPE
Baltimore: 2226 TPE

Safety:
Berlin: 930 TPE
Baltimore: 1277 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Berlin: 543 TPE
Baltimore: 421 TPE

TOTALS:
Berlin: 16,782 TPE
Baltimore: 14,084 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Berlin +2698 TPE

Comments:
With a GM stepping down, cap issues, and roster attrition, Baltimore dialed in early as this season’s worst odds to win the championship. Berlin on the other hand spent the offseason stacking their roster, adding those sweet teeps, and are out to prove that they don’t suck as much as their first two season records suggest. I expect Berlin to win this matchup almost uncontested.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honolulu Hahalua at Philadelphia Liberty

Quarterback:
Honolulu: 917 TPE
Philadelphia: 860 TPE

Running Back:
Honolulu: 1761 TPE
Philadelphia: 1926 TPE

Wide Receiver:
Honolulu: 1393 TPE
Philadelphia: 1631 TPE

Tight End:
Honolulu: 589 TPE
Philadelphia: 1099 TPE

Offensive Line:
Honolulu: 427 TPE
Philadelphia: 1131 TPE

Defensive End:
Honolulu: 2314 TPE
Philadelphia: 1375 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Honolulu: 826 TPE
Philadelphia: 687 TPE

Linebacker:
Honolulu: 2146 TPE
Philadelphia: 2156 TPE

Cornerback:
Honolulu: 2125 TPE
Philadelphia: 1573 TPE

Safety:
Honolulu: 2369 TPE
Philadelphia: 1642 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Honolulu: 1043 TPE
Philadelphia: 611 TPE

TOTALS:
Honolulu: 15,910 TPE
Philadelphia: 14,691 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Honolulu +1219

Comments:
Honolulu and Philadelphia are both competing for that number two spot at worst possible odds to take home the trophy. Their overall TPE totals suggest the same. Honolulu has the not insignificant lead over Philadelphia while Philly owns the home field. This will be another close one and Venus Powers might not be able to carry Honolulu like in the past.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Orleans Second Line at New York Silverbacks

Quarterback:
New Orleans: 1177 TPE
New York: 929 TPE

Running Back:
New Orleans: 1321 TPE
New York: 1526 TPE

Wide Receiver:
New Orleans: 2448 TPE
New York: 2436 TPE

Tight End:
New Orleans: 796 TPE
New York: 373 TPE

Offensive Line:
New Orleans: 1288 TPE
New York: 977 TPE

Defensive End:
New Orleans: 1284 TPE
New York: 1037 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
New Orleans: 1901 TPE
New York: 1965 TPE

Linebacker:
New Orleans: 1998 TPE
New York: 2158 TPE

Cornerback:
New Orleans: 2732 TPE
New York: 1846 TPE

Safety:

New York: 2270 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
New Orleans: 317 TPE
New York: 876 TPE

TOTALS:
New Orleans: 16,727 TPE
New York: 16,393 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: New Orleans +334 TPE

Comments:
The New New York team will face New Orleans in a new sim with new line ups, new strategies, new something new new. Both teams managed to make it to the second round of playoffs last season with New Orleans actually making it to the championship. Their TPE totals are almost identical this season, and I know New York is out for blood. We have the home field and sure as hell want to stick it to NOLA. Let’s see if the Gorilla Gang can get it done.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Austin Copperheads at Orange County Otters

Quarterback:
Austin: 673 TPE
Orange County: 1152 TPE

Running Back:
Austin: 1458 TPE
Orange County: 615 TPE

Wide Receiver:
Austin: 2783 TPE
Orange County: 1615 TPE

Tight End:
Austin: 674 TPE
Orange County: 2008 TPE

Offensive Line:
Austin: 832 TPE
Orange County: 2563 TPE

Defensive End:
Austin: 2412 TPE
Orange County: 1567 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Austin: 1097 TPE
Orange County: 1999 TPE

Linebacker:
Austin: 3074 TPE
Orange County: 2205 TPE

Austin: 1834 TPE
Orange County: 1883 TPE

Safety:
Austin: 1621 TPE
Orange County: 3814 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Austin: 246 TPE
Orange County: 161 TPE

TOTALS:
Austin: 16,704 TPE
Orange County: 19,582 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Orange County +2878

Comments:
Hot of the latest scandal news, Orange County is going to want to prove they are in fact a really great team. Meanwhile Austin has a few devout season predicters that are confident the Copperheads will make the playoffs this season. They’re going to have a rough start playing on Orange County turf against the type of TPE advantage as huge as this one. Orange County will probably be able to pad the fantasy stats this week.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

San Jose Sabercats at Arizona Outlaws

Quarterback:
San Jose: 1170 TPE
Arizona: 836 TPE

Running Back:
San Jose: 2189 TPE
Arizona: 2074 TPE

Wide Receiver:
San Jose: 2160 TPE
Arizona: 2990 TPE

Tight End:
San Jose: 503 TPE
Arizona: 862 TPE

Offensive Line:
San Jose: 0
Arizona: 2070 TPE

Defensive End:
San Jose: 1368 TPE
Arizona: 1421 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
San Jose: 1998 TPE
Arizona: 2023 TPE

Linebacker:
San Jose: 2577 TPE
Arizona: 2615 TPE

Cornerback:
San Jose: 2011 TPE
Arizona: 2424 TPE

Safety:
San Jose: 1680 TPE
Arizona: 1905 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
San Jose: 1162 TPE
Arizona: 414 TPE

TOTALS:
San Jose: 16,818 TPE
Arizona: 19,634 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Arizona +2816 TPE

Comments:
Just like Austin and Orange County, this is a perquisite to another slaughter. Arizona has all the advantage both on the field and on the TPE sheets. Last season a couple of San Jose players made comments that I never picked them for predictions. I don’t intend on changing that this week.
