*ISFL Week 4 Matchups - platanocat - 02-02-2021

Alright who’s ready for some mid-week ISFL football action! Hopefully everyone is beginning to settle in and feel more comfortable with the new sim by now. Maybe with three weeks of games in the books, these games will begin to get a little easier to predict. If you copied my predictions last week thanks for believing in the cause. Enjoy your 2 TPE! Let’s see what we have on the menu for Wednesday!

Yellowknife: 18,264 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Yellowknife +777 TPE

Comments:
Yellowknife is sitting comfy and cozy with about the kind of record you would imagine coming hot off a Ultimus win. Poor Berlin is still fighting to prove their initial expansion worth. People still seem hyped for them though, despite losing two straight home games. Maybe all Berlin needs is to play another away game since that’s where they got their only win this season? Who knows. All I know is that Joe is breaking my heart (and my fantasy score). I really really want to stay on the Berlin hype train, but it’s getting harder every week. I had to go with Yellowknife in this game.

Sarasota: 18,561 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Chicago +4022 TPE

Comments:
So I don’t know if anyone reads the ‘newspaper’ section of the index, but I like to take a peek at it from time to time. After Week 3 the imaginary analysts had Chicago at Sarasota as the game of the week. For a fantasy sim league, that’s surprisingly accurate. People are stoked about this game! Chicago is tearing it up early in the season and is definitely the team war rooms are dreading to plan against. Sarasota is right behind them with a 2-1 record, but admittedly played Philadelphia and Colorado. Frost has no shortage of belief in his team though, taking $10M action on anyone who says Chicago will beat them. I have to admit that the odds are not entirely in Sarasota’s favor, but I definitely wussed out of that $10M casino bet. So maybe Sarasota does have a slim chance of hope. Still going to pick Chicago for the predictions TPE though.

Austin: 1932 TPE
Colorado: 1824 TPE

Austin: 1636 TPE
Colorado: 1476 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Austin: 268 TPE
Colorado: 609 TPE

TOTALS:
Austin: 17,012 TPE
Colorado: 17,326 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Colorado +314 TPE

Comments:
This matchup is a hard one to predict this week. Austin and Colorado are pretty even on TPE and are both not doing super hot on their wins. I eventually landed on Colorado just because they have the home field, but this one could honestly be a coin flip. I promise I won’t take it personally if you pick Austin instead. That being said, anyone who doesn’t pick Colorado isn’t invited to my birthday party.

Baltimore: 421 TPE
Philadelphia: 628 TPE

TOTALS:
Baltimore: 14,308 TPE
Philadelphia: 15,245 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Philadelphia +937 TPE

Comments:
Oh Baltimore. What will the league do with you. Is Baltimore destined to go winless this season? I personally plan on picking against them in every single matchup until they win. Playing against Philadelphia might be their closest chance at a win that they get. Then again, Philly does have all of the usual advantages still. I’m all in on Philly picking up the win in Week 4.

New York Silverbacks at Arizona Outlaws

New York: 943 TPE

Arizona: 414 TPE

TOTALS:
New York: 16,716 TPE
Arizona: 19,874 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Arizona +3158 TPE

Comments:
I have to say, I don’t think anyone anticipated New York being one of two undefeated teams so far this season. Hype train aside, there ARE still 13 weeks of games to play, and who knows we could pick up 13 losses. Arizona has both home field and TPE advantages heading in to Week 4. They also somehow managed to hold Berlin to a handful of field goals on their own turf. So, I guess they’re not cursed. Dammit. That means we actually have to submit a decent strategy for this game. I’m going to pick New York for this matchup, but that’s almost entirely based off of records so far.

Orange County Otters at New Orleans Secondline

Quarterback:
Orange County: 1166 TPE
New Orleans: 1201 TPE

Running Back:
Orange County: 645 TPE
New Orleans: 1380 TPE

Wide Receiver:
Orange County: 1629 TPE
New Orleans: 2542 TPE

Tight End:
Orange County: 2008 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Orange County: 2028 TPE
New Orleans: 1931 TPE

Linebacker:
Orange County: 2222 TPE
New Orleans: 2034 TPE

Cornerback:
Orange County: 1913 TPE
New Orleans: 2766 TPE

Safety:
Orange County: 3854 TPE
New Orleans: 1484 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Orange County: 216 TPE
New Orleans: 317 TPE

TOTALS:
Orange County: 19,826 TPE
New Orleans: 17,062 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: Orange County +2764 TPE

Comments:
Both New Orleans and Orange County have not had super great starts to the season. New Orleans though was the only one of the two that had one hell of a redemption game in Week 3 putting up 49 points against an at-home San Jose team. Let the conspiracy theories fly! Orange County did manage to pick up one win so far this season against Austin but it lacked the fireworks of the New Orleans blowout. Orange County is also sporting a PF of 57, which is last in the ASFC and third to last in the league (only beating Berlin and Baltimore who are both tied at a PF of 50). I actually had to switch my prediction on this one and finally abandon the Otters. I’m picking New Orleans to win on their putrid purple field.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honolulu Hahalua at San Jose Sabercats

Quarterback:
Honolulu: 917 TPE
San Jose: 1170 TPE

Running Back:
Honolulu: 1795 TPE
San Jose: 2226 TPE

Wide Receiver:
Honolulu: 1415 TPE
San Jose: 2219 TPE

Tight End:
Honolulu: 594 TPE
San Jose: 512 TPE

Offensive Line:
Honolulu: 427 TPE
San Jose: 0 TPE

Defensive End:
Honolulu: 2328 TPE
San Jose: 1392 TPE

Defensive Tackle:
Honolulu: 826 TPE
San Jose: 2007 TPE

Linebacker:
Honolulu: 2205 TPE
San Jose: 2608 TPE

Cornerback:
Honolulu: 2143 TPE
San Jose: 2053 TPE

Safety:
Honolulu: 2399 TPE
San Jose: 1735 TPE

Kicker/Punter:
Honolulu: 1043 TPE
San Jose: 1179 TPE

TOTALS:
Honolulu: 16,092 TPE
San Jose: 17,101 TPE

TPE ADVANTAGE: San Jose +1009 TPE

Comments:
I’ve got to hand it to Honolulu for completely proving me wrong for sleeping on them. They have been doing far better than their TPE has shown and seem to have their strategies figured out. San Jose on the other hand got obliterated last week. Honolulu only has 59 points allowed so far this season, while San Jose has a whopping 109. Yikes. Therefore, this is another one that I flipped on. I’m going to have to start believing in Honolulu and picking them more often, even if their home field design burns my retinas.

If you include BOT OL in this it would make them a lot more accurate, as human OL dont have an advantage over user OL anymore, and it can make some teams look super OP, see Chicago

True. But also, Chicago still looks fairly top tier this season. Go fish.

Burning the opposing team's retinas is part of the strategy. Duh.
